- chanop, on 04/03/2008, -0/+264There was a problem completing your request. Please reload the page and try again.
- inactive, on 04/03/2008, -2/+206Great, I get to see that 2999 ***** also happened to digg quality articles such as "Squirrel Hits Man In Crotch [PIC!!]" or "TOP 10 SIGNS HILLARY CLINTON IS SATAN"
- Lassan, on 04/03/2008, -3/+173That's really nice, Kevin, but can you please fix the damn comment system already?!
[This comment posted on the third attempt] - eastbeast314, on 04/03/2008, -0/+110Oh c'mon, they said they were working on it!

...11 months ago - loganhuddleston, on 04/03/2008, -4/+94I don't care who those 2,999 people are.
- WriterSD, on 04/03/2008, -1/+70I'm so glad I'm not the only person getting this error. It used to just be with comments. But now it happens with digging comments and even digging stories. So annoying.
- fkr3, on 04/03/2008, -2/+59The url was trunca....
- scooterbaga, on 04/03/2008, -4/+55Cool, sort of like auto-shouts. Just make sure we have some control over it!
- inactive, on 04/03/2008, -5/+48No, don't be slashdot.
The ONLY thing that makes digg good is its democratic process.
It's already bad as it is with the "top diggers" spamming the majority of stories.
If you wanna do something encourage ALL users to submit and discourage the "top diggers" spamming. - inactive, on 04/03/2008, -0/+39Please say "Squirrel Hits Man In Crotch [PIC!!]" is real!
- newsfully, on 04/03/2008, -0/+39I tried to digg you up, but I had to reload the page.
- BOFH2, on 04/03/2008, -1/+40The force is strong with you... What? this is my first comment in 2 days!!!!
- inactive, on 04/03/2008, -2/+40Many people will have to start deleting friends. I only accepted ones that Digg ***** I like. As long as its not by email it wont be too bad.
- EtherGnat, on 04/03/2008, -0/+29Hah! Got that message trying to Digg you up. Hopefully the new comment system they demoed a few months ago is coming soon.
- GothAlice, on 04/03/2008, -0/+25I never used to get it, but in the last few days it's been horrible.
- elhaf, on 04/03/2008, -0/+24I want to digg this story, but I'm afraid I'll be spammed with all the meta-digg stories from now on.
- Brad324, on 04/03/2008, -0/+20it's not. Enjoy your rickroll: http://pop.youtube.com/watch?v=b1WWpKEPdT4
- laserblazer, on 04/03/2008, -0/+19Repair infrastructure, delay bloat.
- xtmno3, on 04/03/2008, -1/+20Don't worry, all you have to do is reload the whole comment page (and watch your PC slow to a crawl as it loads them all) so you can give it a second/third/80th try!
Also, it took me a reload to be able to digg you up. - Neenahred, on 04/03/2008, -3/+20Really? Why do we let you talk. You do know that they cover two different markets. Digg is not focused on bring people together like the way facebook is. I walk around campus all day without hearing anyone say hey did you see what Sarah put on digg last night. Facebook is geared to anyone that can use a mouse. Think before you type.
- Scynet, on 04/03/2008, -0/+16The problem isn't in submitting, it's in getting stories to front page. As of now, few have the interest in swmming through the pool of crap of the "upcoming stories" -section to digg up good stories to front page. As a result, these top diggers you mentioned can do it themselves and easily make stories to the front page.
The new system could prevent this by allowing ("forcing") everyone to view stories in the upcoming section, and thus making them participate in the crapfilter process. I like this idea. - cadmiumpaint, on 04/03/2008, -0/+16why don't they just fix the problems that already exist? If someone submits a story thats it. A link to a story should only allowed to be submitted once by the first person who submits it. Its there for you to digg or not. Stop making it so that the 20 or so people who control digg can steal stories from casual users and get it to the front page and increase their digg 'cred' or whatever other lame thing they live for.
- allyant, on 04/03/2008, -2/+17Just like digg will be getting a new comment system...... how long ago did he say that?
- Schda, on 04/03/2008, -0/+14I know, some of the people I've friended are people whom I actually think are great posters. Others are political shills, spammers, and general n'er do wells. Maybe Digg could add a foe section like slashdot does to flag people you disagree with.
- nakani, on 04/03/2008, -0/+13I wonder how much bandwidth they waste because of people reloading
- eastbeast314, on 04/03/2008, -0/+12I'm a programmer, so I'm allowed to be off by one...or two.
I was only off by 1.6 months, so take a breath. The point still stands. - insertAliasHere, on 04/03/2008, -0/+11What I do for that is block them. You can still read their comments, and the "You have blocked ..." header is a good way to remind yourself that someone is a jackass.
- fluidfoundation, on 04/03/2008, -2/+12So this is how Skynet becomes active.
- njcu, on 04/03/2008, -0/+10I concur! for the nth time...
- HauntedTank, on 04/03/2008, -0/+10The Digg Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line August 4th, 2008. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Digg begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
- Remmy, on 04/03/2008, -3/+13New features are great, but how about fixing the existing ones first? Comments, adjust those SQL entries to correctly report the number of friends I have, spend a few weeks debugging the javascript here and fixing these damned errors that come up once every... 7 seconds, etc...
- nachochease, on 04/03/2008, -1/+11This has potential, just as long as it's implemented right and a user doesn't get inundated with like 50+ stories that digg "suggests."
- Jeffler, on 04/03/2008, -0/+91.5 quadrillion yotabytes.
EDIT: HOLY ***** I GOT A COMMENT TO WORK - hinchb, on 04/04/2008, -0/+8IN SOVIET RUSSIA
YOU STILL SUCK - fkr3, on 04/03/2008, -1/+8The good news is the suggest feature can only work better. Unless they use their own search to find similar stories. Or their own programmers to code it.
- sexybobo, on 04/03/2008, -0/+7My guess would be they have Popular Upcoming and Suggested sections. So you could just ignore it like most people ignore upcoming or set it to your default.
- mCanada, on 04/03/2008, -5/+12cough "stumbleupon" cough
- DCstewieG, on 04/03/2008, -0/+7I would hope it mostly ignores the friends list if not completely. At a completely simplified level, just find articles from anyone who dugg the last 3 stories you dugg. It makes me think of NetFlix ratings, where the default ratings you see are actually the average of people like you, not everyone.
- BoMEpsilon, on 04/03/2008, -0/+7Socialist? Are you serious?
- inactive, on 04/03/2008, -1/+8That is GREAT! Because when I see a story that has been dugg to the front page by a circle-jerk, or a paid digging team, I want to know ALL the stories that was dugg by that circle-jerk or that digging team.
(should be fun to see though. Every suggested story for, say, a Consumerist submission will be OTHER Consumerist submissions, since the early diggers for them will have dugg ONLY Consumerist stories,) - cards, on 04/03/2008, -1/+8I used to have high hopes for the suggestion engine...and now it sounds like it's gonna suck. All this will do is accelerate stories getting to the front page, not help me find stories I like. If the "pressure users" are in upcoming and digg "Cutest Squirrel hugging a mouse you'll see all day!!! (PIC)", their diggs will get it to the front page faster, but that doesn't mean I want to see this *****.
Kevin & team, design a suggestion engine that does what a suggestion engine should do: suggest stories that I'm likely to be interested in. To do this, you need to compare my digg/bury history to that of other users and suggest things that people like me have been digging.
The system described in the article just makes gaming the system easier. Spend a week in the upcoming section digging anything with "Obama", "Top 10", and "Hot chick", etc, and suddenly your diggs are worth more than everyone else's. Now you can start digging your own spam. - root1657, on 04/03/2008, -0/+6I though that was custom code to keep me from posting things that arent PC... is it a real error? 'there was a problem' ok, what was it?
- diggydougie, on 04/03/2008, -0/+6This should actually help with that. You can weed out the annoying friends.
- mattmcm, on 04/03/2008, -0/+6Awesome, I hope he enjoys watching me organise my stamp collection.
- mattmcm, on 04/03/2008, -0/+6Good point, but your closing statement was sorely lacking.
- mattmcm, on 04/03/2008, -0/+6"That's really nice, Kevin."
- inactive, on 04/03/2008, -0/+5whoa! its like newz, cept its only the news you want to hear! none of that boring stuff. i want my news to be entertaining and catered to my tastes
- Darkhacker, on 04/03/2008, -0/+5Digg is so bad that I even get Firefox's "stop script" message when closing a tab. That's right, closing!
- norbiu, on 04/03/2008, -3/+8***** up beyond all recognition'ed?
