- danhuard, on 10/11/2007, -3/+142we're incredibly stoked to have jim on board. he's an industry vet and this just means good things for us at rev3
- superpatty, on 10/11/2007, -3/+86so, what happened to jay adelson?
is he still chairman?
was he not doing his job well enough?
or did rev3 finally get enough money for a more expensive CEO? - nymphetamine, on 10/11/2007, -3/+69Well Kevin dugg it so...
- Mediaright, on 10/11/2007, -1/+66I wonder how long it'll take Patrick to make the jump too. He's already hosting his share of Systm episodes.
- MrKrinkleDude, on 10/11/2007, -3/+61I had no idea Louderback was dating 'PC'. Now he's gone and left him! Was it an affair with Mac?
- pamon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+58techtv v2.0??
- fuzzmeister, on 10/11/2007, -1/+57I assume that Revision3 has grown large enough to deserve a completely dedicated CEO, as Adelson is also the CEO of Digg.
- tastypastry, on 10/11/2007, -3/+53Jim Louderback is great. Really enjoyed his segments on DL.TV (and when he hosted). He's like a big kid. Look forward to seeing what he brings to the table for Revision3.
- gklitt, on 10/11/2007, -3/+52Buzz Out Loud fans will definetely miss Veronica.
- VanD, on 10/11/2007, -7/+54Kevin Rose made Revision 3 what it is today.
- Casework, on 10/11/2007, -1/+47This certainly means great things are in the future for Revision 3. I can't wait.
- Maynza, on 10/11/2007, -1/+46um... is this for real? what does this mean for dl.tv?
- Speed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+44Jay said a while ago he was leaving Rev3 to focus on Digg.
- swordedge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+44Just verified that Veronica Belmont is leaving Buzz Out Loud.
http://www.veronicabelmont.com/2007/07/big-early-announcement-day/ - simon275, on 10/11/2007, -2/+36Sarah lane also got snapped up as well. Revesion 3 must have come into some venture capital
http://blog.sarahlane.com/2007/07/sarah-rises-fro.html - inactive, on 10/24/2007, -0/+25"That report is also saying Veronica Belmont has left CNET to join Jason Calacanis’ new firm, Mahalo"
Belmont is commiting career suicide by joining that asshats new firm. Jason Calacnis is a bitch. - psbpv3o, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22Sarah lane also recently joined revision 3....http://sarahlane.com
REV3 is going to kick even more ass!
long live tech t.v! - SilverBlade2k, on 10/11/2007, -3/+25this can't be :( Veronica was about 50% of the reason I listen to BOL...
- NinjaBoy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21Maybe DL.TV will become a revision3 show.
- jokerthief, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16Dan,
What's going on with Jay? - LavaHot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16I wonder if he'll fill in for Will on Fresh Ge,... er, inDigital?
- jstack, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18At least we have Molly back.
- optik, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14It would be a shame if they did ditch DL.TV, unless ofcourse we could get Robert to make the jump too :P
- chubbybubba, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12I remember Jim back when he was a host on Fresh Gear with Sumi Das.... didn't seem to much like the CEO type back then... he was a funny guy though, in fact I remember him bringing a hellow kitty purse to Big Thinkers to show the mac book did indeed look like one.... Funny Guy.
- NinjaBoy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Revision 3 should buy G4.
- ardklg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11That might be a bit awkward for Kevin...
- YSSMAN, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11This one deserves a head-scratch. I have a hard time seeing him depart PC Mag (and the such and such that goes with it), but I'm sure Jim wouldn't do anything without a damn good reason to do so.
This brings up an interesting question: With the loyal following of what was left of TechTV, one has to wonder how long it will be until we see something more similar to it (sorry DL.TV!) appear again? - aliendave, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12His first order of business should be to give himself a show.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14How to tank a career in one easy step. Leave a solid long standing institution to glom onto a flash in the pan internet fad run by a drunk.
- vr1000, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Not to be a jerk but I find Veronica to be annoying on BOL. Just because a girl is cute and loves Twitter doesn't mean I want to hear her pontificate on technology.
- stalky14, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I've always suspected the name "Revision3" comes from ZDTV being revision 1, TechTV being revision 2, etc.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9:( She will be missed.
- jagtar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Lets hope Rev3 attracts DL.TV to move.
REv3 needs more shows to be justified as a production company, 4 top shows just wont cut it yet.
But heres hoping jim brings some good ideas to rev3 - stmiller, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7DL.TV is owned/ran by ziff davis media. They are a mega-tech company that owns PCmag, eweek, etc., etc. So DL.TV cannot just 'move'. I doubt Ziff Davis would let that show go to anyone else, as it brings them $$$$.
- LavaHot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I don't think ZD would be willing to let go of those properties, but it's certainly possible that the folks that produce DL.TV might come over, as most of them are TTV alum.
- LoganT, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7This is going to be awesome. I wonder if DL.TV will move over to Revision3 and then it would be like TechTV all over again.
- LavaHot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I think Pat has enough time to do both.
- ibeetle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6What does this mean for DL.TV?
What does this mean for the Digital Life after show party Jim threw in NYC last year? And he promised to throw one again this year.
Met him... one of the nicest men in the world. - ScottMaximus1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Calacanis just wants some of those titties!
- mightycbu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5awkward :) will miss you on BOL, but will be following you in your new job. lots of success Veronica.
- tybris, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Great, now all they need to do is come up with a less boring website.
- ShogunWarPig, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Blasphemy, I think Patrick Norton and his DLTV cohost are very good hosts. Not everyone is born with the traditional made for tv/radio voice, this including diggnation's hosts. Personally that part of their appeal.
- miyamotofreak, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Maybe some of the Ziff podcasts will come to Rev3. DL.TV and 1up Show seem obvious (though the 1up show is out of Louderbacks hands so a affiliation at most).
- unfinity, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Without double checking, I believe that was Cali Lewis
- usherzx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4It's happening... we all knew it would, it was just a matter of time.
I can't wait to see how high Revision3 raises the bar with all of their talent!
Keep up the great work guys! - howyoudoin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4tech tv rocked
- slider121, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4All Rev 3 needs now is Leo and Patrick to come over and The Screen Savers are BACK!!!
Revision 3 is becoming what TECH TV was. I really miss Tech TV and now I have something to watch again. Between Rev 3, Hak .5, Digital Underground TV, Cranky Geeks, and dlt.tv we have a replacement for Tech TV. - Noryn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Jim Louderback is awesome, this definitely is great news. I know people get tired of hearing about TechTV but even before that ZDTV honestly rocked. One of the funniest things I have ever seen on TV was Scott Herriott was reading viewer mail. He got a letter saying, can you please go smack the bejesus out of Jim Louderback. So he walked across the sets and Jim and Sumi were taping an episode of fresh gear, when Jim just looed at him knocked the hell out of him. Sumi got a hit in too I think. Yes it was all fake and set up but still funny as hell.
- JuliusErving, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This normally wouldn't be proof for confirmation of a story, but Kevin Rose dugg it. It wouldn't make much sense for him to digg the story if it weren't true.
