- Stoyanov, on 11/07/2009, -0/+26What the ***** is this all-page "Dragon Age" ad? ***** you Digg! http://is.gd/4PzNM
- stutimandal, on 11/07/2009, -0/+23AdBlockPlus filter update is needed :(
- Stoyanov, on 11/07/2009, -1/+20Digg sold out.
- seltaeb4, on 11/07/2009, -0/+14When Facebook allowed third-party applications, they took a gigantic step towards becoming myspace.
- CSFFlame, on 11/07/2009, -0/+14ABP filter for your convenience:
http://cotnet.diggstatic.com/img/skins/*
on another note, digg just got off my ABP whitelist, good going - iBleeedOrange, on 11/07/2009, -1/+14Yea...I blocked it, and now I have 2 black "borders" on each side. -_- ***** this *****.
- 51684, on 11/07/2009, -1/+13What the ***** is this IE ***** on your desktop?
- ridd1e, on 11/07/2009, -0/+11Is the Internet a paradise for scammers?
- theOster, on 11/07/2009, -0/+11lets just hope to god they dont start linking the borders
- xOrion73x, on 11/07/2009, -0/+11Add a new filter..
http://cotnet.diggstatic.com/img/skins/* - inactive, on 11/07/2009, -0/+9I can't even see the full ad because I only have a crappy 1024x768 laptop screen, so it's just annoying. It forces the content to take up less room, too.
- mrdoubles, on 11/07/2009, -0/+8New ads!
- xOrion73x, on 11/07/2009, -0/+7I'd rather black borders than idiot advertising...
If I a was in the market for a new game to play, or any of the other products we are forcefed, I'd probably shop around for them.
Adblock and a good hosts list is my "No Solicitation or Handbills" sign, just like the one outside my house. - TheDrinkNinja, on 11/07/2009, -0/+7Good god, it just compressed my text into something smaller than the size of the Naturally Rising Crust Pizza ad in the corner... And replaced it with a ad of a man's eye, teeth, and forehead.
I WISH TO BUY THIS PRODUCT - supersonicjim, on 11/07/2009, -1/+6We've been spending most our lives
Living in a scamma's paradise. - Fuzi, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4amazing game... but that ad is irritating, don't make me put digg back on my ad ignore list!
- skeptictank, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4Already dumped FB... I see too many of these ads on digg, it's going also. Adblock, privoxy, peer guardian, I thought I was immune from this **** almost.
- Pschkqitzsough, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3I noticed some of those adds looked like scams and I never click on them anyway, but many trust facebook and will probably be scammed :/
I'm just glad I know for sure that some of them ARE scams and don't just look like scams. - ralphthemagi, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3*sigh* I think I know who is responsible for this over at EA. Someone is getting an email.
- inactive, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3Oh, you, uh... recording your favorite programs on the DVR?
- EvilGrouse, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3I'm gonna get flamed for this, but....
I'm really sick and tired of hearing about facebook and twitter. FB this, and twitter that...blah blah blah. Fads. Go find your pet rock, eh? - cplusplus, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Lots of Facebook users are not baring computer/internet literate. They use Facebook because they assume its a safe walled garden. Which makes it easy for scammers.
- StinkOrd, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2both myspace and facebook have almost always been scam/spam/creepo central
. - ultrafez, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Someone's gotta be the first to experience it.
- mine4321, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Yes, yes it is.
- SpookyET, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Facebook was good when it was college only and you needed an university email address to register. You could also see all the other people in your classes. It became ***** not very long after they opened it for everyone. It's bad enough that grandma is on the site, but I'm willing to bet that out of 300 million accounts about which they brag, 100 million are scammers and spammers. Facebook marketplace is a joke.
The next turn for the worst is when they opened an apps API. 99.99999% of apps are worthless and questionable. I wouldn't trust my information in their hands. Now, they are copying Twitter. I haven't really touched Facebook since March. I hated the twitter-like redesign. There is too much information. I also hate those stupid quizzes that show up.
Facebook Lite is not the solution since it's buggy and missing a lot of functionality from the circa 2007 site I liked.
Of coarse, Mark Zuckerberg doesn't care about any of this. All he sees is $, and if this rubbish increases revenue at the expense of quality; so, be it. - consig1iere, on 11/07/2009, -1/+2No Facebook is a paradise for lonely people who need hope for a bit of attention.
- mka4evr, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Unlike Digg. Enjoy the moment of attention I have given you.
- MacHarborGuy, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Didn't we already hear this story from TechCrunch about Zynga? Also, there wasn't any real information about the ratio of Zynga's profits from these "free offer" scams VS actual payments via PayPal or phone billings.
- kgoule, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1yes
- sewalsh, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1GET RID OF THESE ***** ADS !
- 7thspages, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Any social network with good traffic - this is a honey pot for fraudsters.
- Stoyanov, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1I agree, but in actuality the $ Mark sees is fluctuating every day. History shows that such web sites are rendered useless every few years. MySpace ran its course, Facebook is next. Twitter, prepare.
- antdude, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Digg needs $$$. :P
- antdude, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Why not block http://cotnet.diggstatic.com ?
- ramalingamn, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Anti social networks. Why the hell in the game, mafia wars, they insist us to send virtual gifts to our friends? Because from that, they are adding new members to their database and in turn increase their ad revenue, Multi level marketing in new form.
- magneteye, on 11/07/2009, -1/+2I feel ya, but at the same time you do have to remember that Digg is a business and they DO need to make money to pay the staff.
- diskoh, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1It's not just the ads. I created an account years ago with the only intention to message a specific person, then I never logged in again. It still gets email periodically with things like "Hi this is Paul John from Nigeria. I think you are the same so and so who went to so and so college with me. Please accept my friend request to claim your share of this 50 million dollars."

What is Digg?
