- RobotBuddha, on 10/26/2008, -1/+8Jokes about the iphone aside, I wish people were more clear with what platforms applications run on. I had to read the summery, follow the link, then follow the link within the link to get the basic information that it runs under java.
- blackjack75, on 10/26/2008, -0/+5Runs fine on windows mobile if you have a java virtual machine.. if you don't google Risidoro...
- brickbat, on 10/26/2008, -0/+5mine downloads new messages just fine. i think you should check your settings.

- Dermah, on 10/26/2008, -0/+4By following the geometric progression this comment requires four exclamation marks!!!!
- havokdu, on 10/26/2008, -0/+4Some things not mentioned in the article that I noted:
_ Unlike version 1.x, this one support multiple accounts right inside the program.
_ You can enable or disable HTTPS, great thing if you cell provider, roaming or capped data plan can't support secure connection.
_ Kb/s data counter
_ "Sent from mobile phone" optional signature - tavisjohn, on 10/26/2008, -1/+5It is ***** like you that give Obama a bad name!
And it is asshats like you that are SPAMMERS AND NEED TO BE HIT BY A TRUCK! - brickbat, on 10/26/2008, -0/+4On Windows mobile you can use imap with the native application. it works great.

- scarwars, on 10/26/2008, -0/+3go figure.. Gmail, a feature on the Google phone... who would've thought
- sTiVo, on 10/26/2008, -0/+3"Hey Mac off to Opera"
- row1, on 10/26/2008, -0/+3They need to get this application signed. Every time I try to download some mail my Nokia has to ask me for network permissions...
Nice app though, a much better solution that the current online mobile version.

- javaroast, on 10/26/2008, -0/+2You didn't need to take it that far you could have let it end!!!!!
- RobotBuddha, on 10/26/2008, -0/+2You miss out on the nice gmail organization though. I like seeing the conversation stacked, having it easily searchable, and all the various other little customizations.
- wesw02, on 10/26/2008, -0/+2This feature is available on the android platform also.
Just got my G1 in the mail :) - andyc, on 10/26/2008, -0/+2A few other nice improvements over version 1.x:
- Smooth scrolling
- On my phone (Sony Ericsson W880i) when I click the "back" button when in the inbox, the app mimises. Saves me having to hold down the "back" button for 2 secs, selecting "minimise" and clicking ok. This is going to save me literally 10s of seconds every day.
- Can toggle items as read/unread by pressing "3". I often forget about emails I've glanced at on my phone as they are shown as read when I return to my computer. - TheNakedChef, on 10/26/2008, -0/+2I wish that it would be possible to label emails and download attachments. Especially pdf files.
- Skod, on 10/26/2008, -0/+2I try to keep slowcode out of my device.
- lebondarken, on 10/26/2008, -0/+2Yes. A comment I can respect. :[
- emberjohn, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1Great, i simply can't keep my eyes off g-mail.
- DigitAl56K, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1It also finally lets you access GMail and mail for Google Apps from the same client (Google used to ship two discrete versions).
- JackpotCity, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1I definitely cant wait to fire this up on my new C902, I can until now only check mail with the app, but if I wanted to respond I had to use the mobile version of Gmail online.
WooHoo. - benitojuarez, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1It wont download new messages for me. I can send them just fine. Id prefer a client.
- tomz17, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1Yeah.. a native windows mobile client would be nice.
- havokdu, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1Yes, it does automatically check for email when you load the program as long as a GPRS/edge/3G connection is active (and allowed for the program to use).
You may load the program and test it sending emails from a PC using a different email account. - LordJezo, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1If you are looking for a direct link to plug into your phone for a download use this address:

When I went to the one linked from the page it just kept sending me back to the browser based version of gmail. I went to the download page directly and it installed right away. - drh8, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1And with a maximum of 2gb microSD it is totally better than the iphone and G1 at EVERYTHING EVER!!!! It might be better for you, but it doesn't do near what either do.
- verkon, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1Does it run on UIQ3?
- chanc, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1Yes, it is a Java application so it will run on UIQ3
I have it working in my P1i ;) - drh8, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1Because you're flame baiting?
- inactive, on 10/26/2008, -1/+1I installed it. This was great.
So if I have a calendar, Google Maps and now Google Mail all on my LG KU990, just what is the point of getting an iPhone or a G1?? - Tron007, on 10/26/2008, -4/+3iphone already did that.....FTW
- BoxAnimeManga, on 11/21/2008, -0/+0Wow! G-mail was awesome.
- Rhoadsy, on 10/26/2008, -5/+4It matters not for the iphone, therefore I am a loser and this article doesn't matter.
- naterza, on 10/26/2008, -2/+1no palmOS either :(
- hsep88, on 10/26/2008, -8/+6Wait a sec this thing isn't on the iPhone yet what's it doing on the front page?
- sunnyoraish, on 10/26/2008, -4/+2and this one five!!!!!
