It works just fine for distributing .iso's for *nix distributions.
You can subscribe to a RSS feed containing torrent's of episodes (legitimately in some cases)
And access a P2P network that covers almost every OS available.
I'd say that bittorrent was the foundation of a new way of distributing things... No proprietary clients/protocals. No confusing UI decisions. Just Click and Download.
Imagine if it covered more than just .iso's and music/video.
Imagine if it were used to deliver system updates for your os of choice (it'd save the company's server and get you the best connection on that patches release date).
