Hell, even the dock connectors for their MP3 players next to the computers are in the same vein as Apple's iPod setups. C'mon, there are ways to be creative with a certain "genre" of store - Microsoft clearly wasn't being as creative as the guy they hired to design the store could have been.

But, I looked at the pictures, and it looks almost exactly like our local Apple store. I would have assumed that there would be more variation between individual Apple stores than there is between this Windows store and the local Apple store.

The thing that gets me is they didn't just copy the store idea, they took the entire look, aesthetic, everything and slapped windows on it. The floors, the tables... it doesn't seem like they're trying to copy a good idea as much as they really want to look like Apple.
