- duke_nate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22I know someone may whine that this shouldnt be in "Tech Deals" but since digg is currently lacking in the "Cool as Hell" category, I chose this one :-)
- RichPowers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20now all we need is a 20-foot inflatable Titanic
- prockcore, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Welcome to our Ool. You'll notice there's no P in it, let's keep it that way.
- MiloMindrbindr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12uh oh, sounds like someone had/has bologna-*****.
(sorry, i couldnt resist being that digg is a sort of nerd site and all)
that thing does look really fun though. Hopefully its hollow in the middle so theres an airbubble for the retarded kids who want to try and swim underneath it. - augmentation, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Yay! Inflatable Iceberg's to rescue us from global warming!!!
- lubos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11coming on youtube soon
- blapierre, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14It's cool, but $9k for an inflatable piece of plastic? Give me a break.
- Railer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I believe his last words were "Hey watch this!"
- ptcfast2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I want one. Seriously, I don't even have a pool and I want one.
- blapierre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9What is better is those "blob" things at lakes. A long rectangle inflated toy with a 10-15ft tower above one end. A person jumps from the tower onto the blob and then crawls to the opposite end. Then the next person jumps down and launches the person on the end way up in the air and into the lake. Repeat. Ah, good old summer camp.
- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I don't swim in your toilet, so don't pee in my pool
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8That is cool. Only I havn't seen many people with a pool big enough to put that in...
Here's a direct link to the people selling it:
http://www.crazyshark.com/product_info.php?products_id=11&cPath=2 - green1152, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Speaking of taking it to the lake.... Why not tow it behind your boat with a bunch of kids on it... AHH! I want a boat and one of these!
- rcomegys, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7my only question is who the hell has a pool that big?
But at blapierre, if you did have that kinda pool, $9k is probably chump change. - truax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It still flips somehow..I've seen it done
They have one of these at the boyscout summer camp that I've gone to the past several years. It's a pretty good workout for your arms, especially the completely vertical side. Only downside that I'd have to point out is that when you get to the top it caves. The plastic/rubber material traps you until you work yourself out of it. Pretty fun overall though. - anareric, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It's all fun and games until I poke your eye out.
- Freshjive787, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8do you not see the teathers at the corners?
- teesa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Perhaps here...http://www.partyusa.com/titanic.htm
- tastethevenom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"If you want to attract people to your beach, the Iceberg is your answer."
Yeah, MY beach. Because this certainly would not last at one of those PUBLIC beaches. Tss... - drjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I assume the vast majority of it is underwater?
- Chaos12, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Hell yes it's cool as hell!
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Forget about exercise, imagine playing King of the Hill on that thing ! You wouldn't really have to worry about getting hurt too (As long as you don't belly flop or have a small pool).
- endtwist, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Just wait 'til that flips over while you have 5 teenagers climbing the same side simultaneously! Oh the fun!
- beasty_dave_Mk2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I was thinking more along the lines of a kid falling on another kid and busting their neck.
Either way, if it's fun and slightly dangerous, the lawyers will put and end to it. Look at the legal hassles the kite tube manufactures are going through. - pintomp3, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10soon these will be the only type of icebergs left.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Don't forget the cost of the portable industrial blower to blow it up:
http://www.rollexgroup.com/img/products/DSC00450.jpg - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I love when kids do that!
- TimDub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"tagged" under my list of purchases to consider should i ever win the lotto. right beside that "underground fortress" house from a few days ago.
- Morph_Ball, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Three words: Oh, hell yes.
- RockBandit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Well, this one doesn't go in a pool though (but I'm sure some enterprising modders could find a way to do it!):
http://www.partyexpress.safeorders.net/Titanic%20Slide%20with%20Iceburg%20Adventure%20Inflatables.htm
This one starts at a mere $14k too! ;) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I can totally see kids dying because someone falls on them or gets stuck underneath.........or something.
That's the coolest pool toy ever. Just wont fit in the backyard pool :( - RockBandit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah, definitely!
This thing would be awesome at a lake or something with friends too.
It'd be fun to take out to a cove or something if one were to do some of that house boat camping that people always do at Lake Powell/Mead/Mojave (Colorado River).
Of course you'd just have to bring something with you to pump it up though. - jguy584, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think you need an Olympic sized pool aswell, if not bigger.
- tastethevenom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, that's a tad ***** up re: "Titanic" Slide. See pictures in above link...
- ibeattetris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've also been on one these. My senior all night grad party had one and it was amzing. There were probably 20 people always on it trying to climb it. Well worth it. Back flips off it were the best =D
- Sippi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man, imagine playing "King of the Mountain" on this thing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Good exercise
- jcalhoon84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, the thing won't flip over because its typically anchored to either the side or the bottom of the pool. The Natatorium in Corpus Christi, TX, has one, and I used to work for the city there. Its a nice toy but it can be a hazard when you get to many people around it. It also has to be anchored in deep water far enough away from the edges of the pool to keep you from killing yourself if you were to fall the wrong direction.
- thewaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My boy scout camp had a simple raft in the lake with fake wet carpet on it, and when people moved to one end everyone left on the other side got hoisted up 10 feet in the air to slide down it. pretty much endless fun.
- suppazone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This thing has lawsuit written all over it. You just know someone is gonna fall head on into someone below waiting for his or her turn. When I was younger we had something similar in your public swim. Although only 1/3 of the height it caused a couple of broken noses and worse and had to be removed.
- Recrofne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pure awesome!
- truax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That type of accident is completely preventable if you put some rules in place.
- hipstershaun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When I was a kid we used to play king of the mountain on a round raft, throwing or dragging each other off into the pool to be the only one on the raft for as long as possible. It was a very fun memory 'til I saw this thing. I'm jealous of the kids who get to play it on this.
Ops. This should have been a reply to Sippi. - DDRSkata, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Now where did I put that inflatable Titanic?
- JoshDuffMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Two years ago, we got one of these things for the lake at the camp I worked at.
It was pretty cool, but we kept having troubles with it - we had a huge storm that actually blew it back onto the shore (dragging the massive anchor with it) and impaled it on some stakes.
We inflated it with a Shop-Vac. :-) - Seidoger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That looks like sooo much fun!
I guess extreme fun comes with a price - Soniti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Welcome to our Ool. You'll notice there's no P in it, let's keep it that way."
I'm a lifeguard, and at my pool we have that sign..
Made me snicker~
~Soniti - dagooh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I bet Chuck Norris can blow that thing up in one puff.
- Soniti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oops
- JRBlack10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is not meant for individual home use, but in lage parks with large pools or lakes.
