- Meowmix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25I am, now and forever, referring to Google as Foofle.
- Bobboes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10haha my favorites: www.ho.org and www.killme.org
- puthor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"Looks like gmail.com didn't make the list" Gmail is a email service, not a search engine.. Gmail & Google are on opposite poles but they both are from the same company.
- secretdiffusion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Ditto what detrate said. And even if it did need the www, ho.org would be the fastest because in Firefox, you can type "ho" and hit ctrl-Shift-Enter to make it do the whole http://www.ho.org a whole lot quicker.
- hobophobe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Although some of these (like foofle, gppgle, etc.) are in fact Google (registered and redirect for typographical errors), others are just domains people registered and don't have anything to put there, so they redirect to google instead of being dead.
- ziekke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Umm.... I looked up a couple of these domains and they aren't even owned by google. This is just a list of domains that POINT to google.com. lame.
- ziekke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7some domains don't work when you don't include www.... FYI domains aren't solely for websites/HTTP, so the www/ftp/ntp etc. subdomains are necessary in these cases.
- mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6These guys don't know how to code links in HTML. Pathetic. But cool list, I guess.
- llamagod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5lol id have to say http://titanium-spork.com/ is the best
this is pretty cool - nloui, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Should I know who Mark Fong is? (www.markfong.com-->google)
- t0ny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Ya, they forgot http:// Bah
- detrate, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7that is incorrect, ho.org works without the www.
- Haplo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you use firefox, use smart keywords, no need to type more then a g
http://johnbokma.com/firefox/keymarks-explained.html - jjk5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Interesting. ho.org doesn't resolve properly in Opera or IE, but worked fine in Firefox. Anyone know why this would happen?
- converge, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Where is www.google.xxx?
- Pile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well, they could have NERD.COM and FOLK.COM if they're interested in ponying up the money. Those domains are currently for sale.
- Rabbethan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4sometimes it is necessary (rarely though)
- padrebuf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3who cares if the links work. we all know where they go.
- mutt2jeff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4people actually type the "w.w.w." still?
- jessejoedotcom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://www.ho.org/ , that's much better.
- llamagod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i'm assuming google, considering google does own gogole.com, ggoogle.com, and the other close mis-types
- dwbell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2there's an error in the list, it seems www.killme.org isn't owned by google after all. and the guy who does is pissed about now.
- dragonflight, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I might actually use ho.org both for its shortness and amusement when somebody watches me typing it in ;)
- Kuipo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ya really. Even if it IS required.. ctrl enter adds the www. and .com anyways so there is nothing more to type than 'google'
- bruzie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Who goes through the trouble of typing in the full URL anyway? Firefox by default has a keyword search bookmark already set up so to search google for something, type "google search+query" into your address bar.
I always rename the keyword so all I have to do is type "g search+query" and I'm set. I don't bother with the search box in FF. - Hippopo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@meowmix
O ya. Well, I'm referring to google now as www.38389438.com - sporkwitch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Not anymore. You've ruined it. One of those vile net-realty corporations will by up those domains now and ransom them to the highest bidder...
- JeremyCade, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You'd be surprised with the number of domain names that are related to google products (IE: gmail.com.au) that google doesn't own..
- ErinIsADrunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2does google actually own these sites or is it people you have set up web pages that redirect you to google?
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I've seen this elsewhere, and it was a much larger list. Funny though how some random ones got there.
- Guder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1some funny one, but I got a number of dead domains. My thoughts where that these where also employees sites and companies and such that have been bought by Google... as well as the typo domains... though I noticed a few of those where missing also.
- termal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1With Opera I just type "g" and my search terms in the address bar. It's set up to do similar things with the other sites I use...imdb, wikipedia, and several others. Actually typing URLs is so quaint.
- rbvmusic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2my personal favorite is www.killme.org
- BlackMagic2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4not exactly broke, they don't go to what it says, copy paste :/
However, nice find... we certainly needed more ways to go to google O_o - nato64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the shortest one i found was www.ho.org
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's www.googil.com you have to put the www or it doesnt work.
- solusdotipse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pancake haters!
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ho.org... let me see...
Owned by Howard Ho Han Chyi at 7 Camborne Road, Singapore 299842 or 1514 Parkmont Drive, CA 95131. Call him: (65)458-1528 or (408)441-7151.
I heart the power of teh internets. - puthor, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6i prefer www.killme.org
- RonDutt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2www.ho.org hahah
Wonder how long itll be before school techs block that! (or have they already? Ill have to check tomorrow) - andrethegiant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2hahaha ho.org
- puthor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3just copy those links to the address bar and you will see..
- 3vil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm too bad there Aren't any short .com ones, because in Firefox if you just type in the word of the link EX: google, it not only adds the www., but also the .com, now it cant do that for ho.org because its an org domain. =( Maybe someday I'll be able to type in HO and get google to pop up, but for now I'm just going to be satisfied with having google up in the top right hand corner of my browser.
- fac3less, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2bruzie,
Thank you for the tip! :) - MLBudToo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I should make ho.org my new homepage.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Some of these don't even goto google, they goto place holder sites or just don't resolve.
- synae, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think you're confused, akaminki. typing anything in the address bar that isn't a URL goes to google's "i'm feeling lucky search". so if you go to google via any of the aforementioned links, and search for "p", PFLAG will be the first result.
you have to set up smart keywords or whatever they're called in your bookmarks...see the "quick search" folder in your bookmarks for examples. - jguerry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1like this guy says, half of these aren't google. i'd guess only 20% of them are. killme.org or whatever is def not google. no digg.
- JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OK now ho.org without www isn't working. :-/ I'm a douche.
http://xf01.net is pretty short though (google) - Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1jjk5 you need to make it www.ho.org not just ho.org and it will resolve in opera & IE (Well I know it does in Opera, just checked it then, not sure about IE to be honest)
