Why can't they understand that for every one they shut down, three will rise from the ashes. They shut Oink down and already What.cd and Waffles.fm are both getting to that level.

Never understood why they thought they could go after Torrent sites. BT is just a protocol... it's ultimately the users that are responsible for what they share/dl. Hell, why don't we just shut down the HTTP protocol as well - it's just as guilty.

Nothing at all is changed by this so how is it a "win"? It looks more like a "no-decision" to me.

I like most how RIAA and these companies profess to admire technological advances, even BUY P2P companies, tell how useful technology is then sue the companies who produce it rather than hold accountable the actual person committing the crime. It's a lazy tactic because they can't chase a million wrongdoers so they try to cut them off completely which is just as immoral, if not moreso.

Well at least they're getting their legal fees paid. I don't necessarily think justice works faster if the injunction stays in effect during an appeal for a case that was dismissed.

It's not as much of a precedent as some might think. Actually, the judges sort of scold both parties for not referring to the appropriate legislation, so it didn't influence their decision (didn't you read the verdict: http://domstolar.is/domaleit/nanar/?ID=E200702836& ... Hence, the appropriate legislation remains untested in regard to such cases.

Torrent.is did not win in court. The case was dismissed because the plaintiff's lawyer neglected to argue how a recent law applies to the case. It will definitely be tried again.

This is incorrect. Istorrent was not acquitted. The case was dismissed.
