- sockpuppets, on 10/07/2008, -3/+97I use their new ghetto search service at axe.com instead.
- jon31rm, on 10/07/2008, -1/+58last time I used ask.com: 1999
- techblogLAT, on 10/07/2008, -1/+501,000,000 Strong for Jeeves! Bring back the butler!
- cyrusuncc, on 10/07/2008, -2/+50Did Jeeves die or something?
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -2/+40i just hate the fact that their logo looks like one for a detergent
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+29I haven't used it since Jeeves was around, and you could ask if he's gay. He'd always give a smart ass answer.
- KreegsMcSteves, on 10/07/2008, -0/+24Am I the only who noticed what a hypocrite this guy is?
"Ask.com is a decent search engine, it does a lot of things well enough to check out ONCE AND APPRECIATE BEFORE MOVING ON. (Maps, for example.) I use its Blogsearch ALL DAY LONG. I like Ask and many of the innovative things it does, but NOT ENOUGH TO USE MANY OF ITS TOOLS WITH ANY REGULARITY."
Yet he uses the "blogsearch" all day long.... that sounds like regular use to me. - godmode, on 10/07/2008, -0/+22keyword there is innovation, not market share.
- jggube, on 10/07/2008, -10/+31I had to LOL when I read their press release, and I quote: "This launch continues our leadership in search innovation" from http://blog.ask.com/2008/10/its-here-the-ne.html
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+16That sounds like some ***** Facebook group.
- stealthboy, on 10/07/2008, -2/+16I actually LOL'd. THank you.
- nesagwa, on 10/07/2008, -0/+11Learn how to design. Photoshop doesnt have ***** do do with design skill. Its a tool.
- fredJdukes, on 10/07/2008, -0/+10Too late. They're maintaining a low evil quotient for the most part, but they're not squeaky clean anymore.
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -2/+11Better idea..get Firefox and the Google customization add-on, it rocks and kicks ask.com booties!
Search results are far superior also. - ByronT, on 10/07/2008, -1/+9Lol you got insulted
- shiftyroach, on 10/07/2008, -0/+8umm... the google logo looks like ***** too
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+8Bet you can't say "I like ask.com" 3 fast times in a row and not figure out what I'm trying to get you to say.
- BossKeyy, on 10/07/2008, -1/+8AskEraser is really the only feature that keeps me coming back. It's also probably the one thing Google will never implement :[
- jjustin01, on 10/07/2008, -1/+6I don't know. "How can I play with myself" returned some very useful results.
http://www.ask.com/web?q=how+can+i+play+with+mysel ... - yurimxpxman, on 10/07/2008, -0/+5I knew Ask was screwed the moment they fired Jeeves.
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+5I just checked. Where?
I think Jeeves is dead. - bernstein07, on 10/07/2008, -0/+5... well? do you?
- bjorni, on 10/07/2008, -0/+5Apparently every skin on ask.com is a photo by Erik Collier (VP of Product Management), even the polka dots. I guess that's the perk of being a VP.
- SPRFRKR, on 10/07/2008, -0/+5"Is Jeeves gay?"
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+5Ahaha. best one-liner I've seen on digg all day.
- MrDoug, on 10/07/2008, -1/+6It's the last of the "We're better than Yahoo!" search engines from the 90s. Lycos, HotBot, AltaVista...all gone.
Maybe they'd have done better if they would have kept it as AskJeeves.com - jjabe, on 10/07/2008, -0/+4nah, he's still there on the Ask Jeeves skin. :)
- Chineseyes, on 10/07/2008, -1/+5It's the algorithm!!
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+4Innovation? I think they're thinking of the wrong word...
- leerayIG88, on 10/07/2008, -0/+4http://www.google.com
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -1/+5They should have never let jeeves go, bad move.
- Darkaged, on 10/07/2008, -1/+5DID I STUTTER!?!
- OneOfNone, on 10/07/2008, -1/+5They should add at least one uniquely good service to be interesting. For example, for Q&A section they can buy Yahoo! Answers and de-moron them. De-moronization of Yahoo! Answers can be accomplished by adding a login captcha that requires more than 2 working brain cells to solve. (Translate "how is babby formed" into Standard English)
- tourettes1992, on 10/07/2008, -1/+4I miss Jeeves. They should bring him back.
- sirbeta, on 10/07/2008, -0/+3I was thinking the same thing. Though I figure he's just referring to the general search page being something to appreciate then move on, not the specific blogsearch functionality.
- jjabe, on 10/07/2008, -2/+5Dugg for the Ask Jeeves skin.
- floort, on 10/07/2008, -0/+3What do you expect them to say, "Use us because we suck!"?
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -1/+4Google is just too awesome now. I hope they still don't do anything evil.
- Kolle, on 10/07/2008, -0/+3AWESOME.
Now I can ask it questions AND apply a new wallpaper.
That's what every search engine needs, right?
Floral-pattern wallpaper? - okpgreg, on 10/07/2008, -1/+4did anyone else notice what looks like dust on the camera sensor on the left third of the western sky theme?
- smingram, on 10/07/2008, -0/+2I actually used this the other day to figure out if I'm supposed to tip at Sonic or not.
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+2Yo Digga!
- DigitAl56K, on 10/07/2008, -1/+3I do like their spynoculers feature where for some of the results you can over the mouse of the binoculars icon and see what the page looks like before going there.
- cowninja, on 10/07/2008, -0/+2It is on page two under 'more skins'.
- liquisoft, on 10/07/2008, -0/+2I forgot about Ask. Maybe Google should buy them.
- therightclique, on 10/07/2008, -2/+4The article writer directly contradicts him/herself in the first paragraph. Why continue reading such a poorly written article? We all know how we feel about ask.com. Who cares what this schmuck thinks?
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1it was a viral marketing thing for ask, that xkcd google-bombed so it would link to their site instead of ask.com
- alexsabree, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Dude, that made no sense at all.. i don't get it
- bigtimslim, on 10/07/2008, -1/+2That peel me corner is retarded
