ISP Secretly Copies BitTorrent Tracker Data

torrentfreak.com — Last month, the prominent Malaysian ISP “Shinjiru” had shut down several torrent sites, following pressure from the government. Strangely enough, after a few days of downtime some of the sites started to reappear, like nothing had happened. However, those sites who did not leave, are now being tapped.

  • blackmesa, on 07/21/2008, -1/+21ISPs and organisations like the RIAA and MPAA, MediaSentry, etc... they all engage in rather unethical and regularly illegal activity.
    It appears that legal avenues for combating this are pretty blocked up by the obvious financial barriers, ignorant lawmakers, technophobe judges, and so on.
    I suspect there will soon be a day when some aggressive, destructive counter-hacking occurs that does some real, equally illegal damage to these crooked organisations. They shouldn't have a monopoly on computer crime.

If the judges are really as ignorant to be making some of the judgements they have, then certain actions should be able to be taken without fear of punishment based on the fact that the judge hearing the case will interpret whatever he hears as a kind of real-life snow crash.
