- fac3less, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It seems like ipower has been down all morning as well.
This blog has all of the links :) - bugsy, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Terrible terrible service. I suggest that anyone considering them look elsewhere. Also, many complaints have been filed to the Arizona Government, keep this up as well.
- fac3less, on 12/18/2007, -0/+1Well, the permissions being changed might be in relation to their recent hack. There aren't too many forums chatting about it though -- you might be able to get some attention on http://www.webhostingtalk.com though.
- HostReviewGuy, on 01/05/2008, -0/+1Let me tell you a little something about ipowerweb. I power web is based out of phoenix Arizona. They have 3 companies before the merger with endurance corp. The 3 are ipowerweb, startlogic and dot 5 hosting. All three companies have better business bureau complaints up the Wahoo! Just recently 3 on your side which is a new station in phoenix Arizona went over to the ipower and startlogic head quarters because there was a huge complaint against startlogic web design. You can view the article here http://www.azfamily.com/news/3oys/stories/KTVK3OYS ... Ipower, startlogic and dot 5 hosting don’t design websites. They out source to a company called design var in California. So if you buy a website lets say at 600 dollars. Ipower, startlogic and dot 5 keep 300 and design var keeps 300.00. So basically your web design is only $300.00 and you paid $600.00 (and it takes 2 years to get your site finished)
They recently started doing website optimization and search engine optimization. They do very basic stuff. All they do is meta tags that’s it. I don’t think you want to spend 2 to 4 thousand just on keywords. Im sure you can Google all kinds of complaints about their seo.
Getting back to endurance international. Endurance international is a company that buys hosting companies that are basically going out of business. They have biz land, powweb, a bunch others and now the lucky 3, ipower, startlogic and dot 5. Im sure endurance didn’t do enough research on the 3 companies. Good luck with that endurance.
Be careful who you choose for internet services because it could result in a loss of money and a pain on your butt. Always look at review sites and research.
The Host Review Guy - StormSurge, on 01/22/2008, -0/+0My databases have just magically disappeared. I've been holding for 45 minutes now. If they can not fix whatever they have screwed up there will be a lot of work lost.
- audionet1, on 12/28/2007, -0/+0Today alone my email has gone down twice. I have not had a wait time below 30 minutes when calling for support and even then my issue is not resolved. They farm tech support out to foreign soil and if that isn't bad enough the people don't know what they are talking about so they are of ZERO help. Submit a help ticket? forget getting a usable answer, it's a copy and paste game there. You'll get a pre-fab response that is remotely related to your issue. TERRIBLE.
- antinomia, on 01/09/2008, -0/+0Please feel free to post your iPower complaints at the new http://ipowercomplaints.com. There’s a pretty serious security violation (http://digg.com/security/iPower_to_script_kiddies_ ... I just stumbled across, but they don’t seem to care about it… No a big surprise I must admit.
- WaterMan99, on 12/14/2007, -0/+0the owners of Endurance International should fire anyone having anything to do with migration to a new server. After waiting an hour to take to a tech rep I learned the only way I can edit my old web site is to use HTML text editor if I want to use Internet Explorer. It is a total screw up. If I can find an easy way to switch hosting, I'm going to move the 5 sites that I manage. Regardless, I will never, ever refer anybody there anymore. Try to find a way to contact the HQ! They are smart enough I guess to not put their email addresses -- get tired of reading how badly they messed up.

This is a huge screw up - I had 4 site with them and they are screwed.
I really can't understand how certain folders have had access permissions changed (755 -> 751!!) and some files are completely missing. (No these don't show up in thier list of files changed)
I thought it was bad when they couldn't correct the clock on the server (which somehow *still* thinks it is 44 minutes ahead of GMT!).
Pitiful. Why isn't this getting more press/diggs? Any good forums for webhosting to see how others are effect and what they are doing about it? - silvianne, on 12/11/2007, -0/+0One of my own websites hosted by Ipower was down for 2 days, 7 hours, 34 minutes, 57 seconds this past weekend (exact time calculated by InternetSeer). They moved my site as they moved many others, and it's been a total disaster. They said they'd check the websites after moving them but obviously did not. I FINALLY got through to them on livechat this morning after a 60 minute way (forget calling, it's worse). They finally fixed the problem but not entirely. None of the links to user profiles on the social network page worked. So, it was back to livechat with Ipower for a 45 minute wait this time. They promised to fix it, and said it would be propagated within 2 hours. It's now been 5 hours...and the entire social aspects of the site are gone, seemingly vanished. Needlessto say, I'm looking for another server. If there is a lawsuit going on, count me in -- where do I sign up?
