- jakash, on 08/18/2008, -3/+179I thought the Olympics were one the the ways the whole world can get together, in an amazing spectacle of human performance. What better way to share this than over the internet? The IOC need to think about how many people would be missing out if the Olympics never got pirated.
- kevman459, on 08/18/2008, -5/+179I love The Pirate Bay, not just for their torrents, but for how they react to "bad" press about them.
- digitalpencil, on 08/18/2008, -2/+143“We were going to ignore the Olympics, but now we’re loading our cannons. Our weapons of mass distribution is pointed towards China.”
Rightly so.. never back down to b$ threats! TBB FTW! - DaffyDuck, on 08/19/2008, -5/+130I was wondering where to find a download of the opening ceremonies. Now I know. Thanks to the IOC for letting me know about this!
- nutniqs, on 08/19/2008, -6/+97The IOC has no idea who they're dealing with. brb seeding.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -8/+91Oooo i didn't know you can get olympic content on torrents. But now I do :)
- seldon452, on 08/19/2008, -5/+61The IOC is a group of money hungry business men. They don't give a ***** about Olympic spirit and what it represents. Just look at how they pussy out with calling out China on blocking the internet even though they swore they wouldn't. Look at how they made American bikers apologize after wearing masks that would help them win a race.
All they care about is money. Don't let all this hogwash about this "Olympic spirit" they talk so much about. There is Olympic spirit but the IOC doesn't care about it. - UNDERSTAR, on 08/19/2008, -6/+59Do what you want, ‘cause a pirate is free,
YOU ARE A PIRATE!
Yar har, fiddle di dee,
Being a pirate is alright to be,
Do what you want ‘cause a pirate is free,
You are a pirate! - DeFex, on 08/19/2008, -1/+50Stop wasting time on this and fix the god damned judges.
- onefreakykid, on 08/18/2008, -2/+43What kind of assistance can (would) the government provide if it's no illegal in their country?
- thecretinisback, on 08/19/2008, -6/+39Pirate Bay ftw, as usual.
- trakie, on 08/18/2008, -1/+31wasnt that answered last time when the pirate bay got raided and shut down?
- TaintBrush, on 08/19/2008, -0/+24What do they expect? Everything in China is a bootleg.
- snotrokit, on 08/19/2008, -0/+23you were watching the gymnastics too huh? Nastya totally kicked that girls ass.
- 3Dimka, on 08/19/2008, -1/+22How come that a public event such as international Olympic Games becomes an intellectual property of morons such as IOC and NBC? I still can't believe my eyes when watch still images on the CNN news, they don't have rights to show the video or what? NBC exclusively owns all the rights on the US? They show only events they want to show, not allowing others to transmit what they do not air. Screw them, go to Pirate Bay and get a piece of History they don't want you to watch.
- soljin, on 08/19/2008, -1/+20Headline should read:
IOC ***** dry hole, looks lonely - d4jna, on 08/19/2008, -6/+25...because taking on the Pirate Bay is always a good idea.
The Bay has already been blocked for a few months here in China though, which is hilarious if you consider the fact that demonoid was unblocked the same week as they started blocking the Bay. The Chinese firewall is forever consistent in how inconsistent it is. But it is all unmade with a click on the tor-button anyway, so I could care less. Otherwise I have loved the last year in Beijing. Truly a beautiful nation, with wonderful people wherever you go. Even better once I got the hang of Mandarin. The buildup and climax of the Olympics has also been quite an experience. Good times. You should all take the time to visit. - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -3/+22Good you know why? i have tried to watch parts of the olympics and i haven't seen hardly any. I work all day, i try to watch on youtube but get "you can't watch this in your country" . Really? how am i supposed to see it, or is it the point that i am not supposed to
- PoonGnarfler, on 08/19/2008, -2/+20Love TPB to begin with, but I love them much more because of their attitude. Legal Threats page FTW!
- digitalpencil, on 08/18/2008, -3/+19TPB>TBB as in 'The Beijing Bay'
- whahaa, on 08/19/2008, -2/+17***** THE IOC!!!!!!!1
- ABadPerson, on 08/19/2008, -3/+17What a terrible the IOC is giving, the Olympics is more about commerce than the human spirit?
I know they need stuff like commercials and regional exclusive to help pay for the damn thing, but could they not afford--could humanity afford to give just this one show away for free?... - PeanutCheeseBar, on 08/19/2008, -0/+14They decide to hold the Olympics in China and expect it not to get pirated? Can't blame this one on the Americans!
- lotec, on 08/19/2008, -2/+15The olympics is on TBP?
sweet! - bjornski, on 08/19/2008, -0/+11To be honest, it never really crossed my mind either.
Gotta get that opening ceremonies piece myself. - snotrokit, on 08/19/2008, -2/+13aim those cannons right at those 13 year old Chinese gymnasts
- chukd, on 08/19/2008, -3/+14Screw the IOC! NBC's covering of the olympics are *****. NBC sucks, take away their right to broadcast the games. I don't want to hear 25 times a day about Michael Phelps or the other poor sad stories. SHOW ME EVENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- dtfinch, on 08/19/2008, -1/+12It plays once on TV, on one channel, at inconvenient times, with no reruns. One way or another, I'm watching the parts I want to see.
- surfacewound, on 08/19/2008, -0/+11Not really favoritism, it all came down to a screwy Australian judge (deducted a full point from Nastia's less flawed routine vs. deducting only .7 from the more flawed Chinese girl's routine).
- FUR10N, on 08/19/2008, -0/+10I shouldn't know what show that's from, but I do.
- TheR3dMenace, on 08/19/2008, -2/+11I have no idea why nbc doesn't simulcast their TV broadcast on the web? If it was the same the commercials would still be there and they'd be maximizing their audience. Instead their online coverage is weak and the online olympics fans have to go to places like TPB to get their content. Network executives still don't get it...
- PHiZ187, on 08/19/2008, -4/+13I love these Swedish bastards.
- TheSpook, on 08/19/2008, -0/+9BIOS judges? Sounds like a boring event, especially since there are probably only about 3 contenders.
- hasansexy, on 08/19/2008, -1/+9But in the Netherlands I have no legal way of rewatching events, only live streams are available, so I would resort to torrents,
if I gave a ***** about the Olympics. - swordedge, on 08/19/2008, -5/+13Of course they do. The IOC is almost as controlling of media as China
- loconet, on 08/19/2008, -1/+9If you look at the history of IOC's legal hand you will see that uniting the world in the name of sports is one of the last things they care about.
- ericdano, on 08/19/2008, -4/+12As soon as the IOC can get the judging right. What the hell was going on the Gymnastics? Totally favoring the Chinese even though they made more errors.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -4/+12lol here we go again another person wants stuff off the pirate bay.
http://thepiratebay.org/legal
Will thy succeed where others have failed? most likely not! - synystar, on 08/19/2008, -4/+11I watched Olympics 2008 and all I got was this lousy cease and desist order.
IOC: You're getting more attention.. use it to your advantage. - Joudoki, on 08/19/2008, -1/+7The Pirate Bay -- err, rather, The Beijing Bay to IOC:
Go ***** yourselves - j4nj1m3n3z, on 08/19/2008, -1/+7Maybe we'll stop when IOC stops screwing our gymnasts over.
- smair1984, on 08/19/2008, -5/+11Well played TPB... well played.
- binaryloop, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5Repeat after me: "I, the IOC, can go ***** myself gently with a chainsaw."
- RevJonathan, on 08/19/2008, -1/+6OR, I can watch it in high-def/decent quality, and on Linux!
- carl25, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5makes no goddamn sense
People can't watch 2-3 channels at once, and once olympics are over, are we supposed to watch highlights for the remainder of the time ? - TVarmy, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5I'm downloading their brains, stuck at 76.4%. PLZ SEED!
- wukillabee, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5go back to 2nd grade
- piXelatedEmpire, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5The IOC, along with the **AA's, IFPI etc are putting pressure on the Swedish Government to make changes to their laws. Hopefully the Swedish Government continue to stand up to these coorporations etc.
However, now that TPB has servers distributed across several countries, even if the Swedish Government did cave I'm not sure how much of an effect it would have on TPB. - Chirp08, on 08/19/2008, -0/+4I was going to China's olympic website to avoid installing silverlight (I don't need another step between me and watching videos on the web, go ***** yourself microsoft). Then they got smart and starting blocking US traffic to force us to go to NBC.
So they lost a viewer. - wukillabee, on 08/19/2008, -0/+4crap i just downloaded the mens 100meter track.. what will happen to me :(
