- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Howard Stern was #1 in every market he was in for the last 20 years. He made Infinity Broadcasting over 16 billion dollars in that 20 years. He went to Sirius because instead of standing up for broadcasters Infinity and Clear Channel bowed to the FCC and relgious right.
Opie and Anthony suck, always have and always will. They admited Howard Stern put out a good show but they make fun because its all they can do since they cant compete.
He does ads on the radio still but you know when he is doing them. When he talks about TV shows they normally arent ads, its what he watches. When he's doing a live read its blatant.
He didnt get paid just in stock, Sirius gave him stock for milestones. They were at 600k users when he signed, now they are over 3million, he brought the people and they gave him the stock.
His contract not including stock is worth $500 million but that money is not just for him. He has to use that money to pay is people, studio fees and everything else, whatever is left at the end is what he gets to keep.
Stern is not a company man, yes he will make money in stock if he brings Sirius people but he's already rich he doesnt care enough to turn into a suit and he will do his show as he always has. His show's last week were some of the best in years and once they get used to the new studio and equipment it will only get better.
David Lee Roth and Adam Carolla suck, plain and simple. I have heard both of their shows and they will be gone soon enough. Carolla could stick it out, he has talent but Roth is a waste of time.
If you dont have Sirius its time to get it, even if you dont like Stern their music is top notch, much better then whats offered on XM...I would know I used to have XM and it was a waste of money. Only reason they are still #1 (which wont last long) is because they were out a few years ahead of Sirius and they had alot of OEM deals which they no longer have as exclusive. Goodbye XM. - ButchCivic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Just to be clear they're talking about people who don't just download the show, but actually rebroadcast it like in that movie "Pump Up The Volume".
Happy Harry Hard-On would be proud. - dynamx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5tell the people at sirius canada to start making his show available and that would be a good start.b
- beerkiller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6should be "Howard Stern is aware that his show on Sirius is being pirated' Sorry-english is not my first language-but thanks for the tolerance.
- AHIGHERGOD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ba Ba Boey to you all!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4One word: Jealous geeks! :)
- cquinnd, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9"Howard Stern is aware of his show on Sirius"
I should hope so. - chevyorange, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Anyone commenting on Stern's show saying it is, "all T&A" or "potty humor" obviously hasn't listened to his show for any amount of time.
Kinda like Linux/Mac bashers... just have no experience so they retards keep spewing out the same BS. - Machine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Um... so yeah... back to the topic at hand... Stern is aware of the fact that people download his show and he's been aware of it for ages... and I think that he lets it slide because he knows that most of his fans aren't tech savvy enough to do this, and that it gets his show to parts of the world that can't get it.
For example, a listener from Alaska called a few days ago and told him that he's been downloading the show and explained there was no other way for him to listen... and Howard said that he would "let him slide". Just imagine if this was the Harlan Ellison Show... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Hey Nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4The Opie and Anthony show has gone greatly downhill. Why in the ***** are they depending on people like pests to do their bits or using Paltalk (a well known spyware laden program I may add) for webcam stuff? I shouldn't have to install something like that on my computer to "enjoy" the program. Better yet, I shouldn't even have to pay extra to get a "better" paltalk experience.
It's funny the same wackbaggers who worshipped that girl who did GWIMP immediately shunned her when O&A saw her as fat. ***** sheeple.
O&A used to be appointment listening for me. I would take out 4 hours of my day to listen to them everyday. Now despite the efforts of the third mike of Bill Burr and Patrice O'Neal I may check them out for maybe 30 mins at most a day. Most of the time now I actually miss the show knowing that it will be a wackbag/paltalk/pest blowjob fest.
The show is absolutely nowhere near it was at WNEW. Howard and Sirius will ***** bury them (if not someone else who is more eager). It doesn't really matter if XM promotes them with millions of billboards and tv ads. If O&A relied on their talent alone and not used unemployed superfans to create bits for them, the show would be 10 times better and *maybe* Stern would be scared. Quite frankly he could give a ***** about what they do. O&A should have been smart enough not to mention their compettition. The more you repeat Howard's name the more you are going to get people like me to listen to him.
After only one week of Howard show on Sirius (illegally of course) he sounds like a professional. He doesn't over rely on the listeners for bits, girls will actually show their ***** on the show (O&A practically have to beg for females that they don't pay for to get on their show), he doesn't constantly whine about the equipment not working and more importantly he's creating a lot more content on his two channels than O&A are with theirs.
What happened to the golden tickets opie? I guess they couldn't find someone in the radio biz that they didn't get angry at (other than Ron and Fez who suck).
Once I get money to do so, I'm going to switch to Sirius. As an formerly proud O&A fan for 6 years I'm tired of ***** radio that gets worse by the day.
I'm going to remove my WOW sticker off of my car in disgust. In 6 years I haven't seen any ***** anyway.
Anyone want to buy a XM MyFi off of me? - tokachu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The next person who says "Everybody knows XM is going to come out on top, because they have a partnership with Napster, and Napster dominates the online music market" is going to get slapped upside the head with an earnings report from Apple.
Dugg because Howard Stern was terrestrial radio's one and only billion-dollar cash cow. - digman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Howard is smart, i mean how many of us are making his kind of money? Not many.
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+311 year old? Ill bet my last $ that Howard Stern is alot smarter then you.
- RAT-Man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What's up with the tired schtick from the fans of those two idiots on XM?
- electromatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i would recommend anyone who "thinks" they know what howard stern is all about take a listen to the new shows. with artie and the new song parody guys on board and george takei sitting in this first week, it really was a funny, intelligent show. the old stereotypes are only partially valid and aside from the occasional repetitive boobs bit there's some really great material.
hey now. - neverender, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1""Wow you're cool. I wonder why nobody dug your link and dug this one instead.""
wow, you're not cool. the article i linked has over twice the amount of diggs smart guy.
so much for your point. - millmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Howard Stern show on Sirius will not be heard in Canada in the near future, because any broadcast into Canadian airwaves is subject to the censorship of the CRTC. That being said for an extra few bucks you can always buy your radio in the USA activate it pre pay it and come back up to the Great White North.
- PrometheuZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1SIRIUS-LY! Shady 45 & Area 33
- AndrewJ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm just glad that Tom Cheapasono stayed at krock. He can play his stupid games with David Weave Roth.
- ButchCivic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3All the o&a fans go ahead and listen while you can. Those losers are on life support. More like BM than xm.
ha, ha, I said BM, now I have to go wee wee. - fiv3isaliv3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm aware of pirates as well. I remember hearing about them attacking some crusie ship awhile ago.
- lordsandwich, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I just heard this last night on the mp3 I got from BitTorrent. :p
- Agent86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dude dude i saw howard with tom brady doing coke
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1beerkiller, Where did you get the line
" [ Howard ] is convinced those who pirate his show are geniuses. "
It doesn't say that in the article you linked to...
and to the rest:
you're wasting your time being jealous of Howard Stern (and his listeners, apparently) because he's savvy and rich. I've never listened to his show, but YES he is smart, that's the only way he hasn't flopped in the years he's been a success. - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1>>""Howard is smart, i mean how many of us are making his kind of money? Not many."
>Being smart isn't required to be rich. Just look at Paris Hilton."
She hasn't increased her wealth, but Howard Stern has, and that's what makes all the difference. - MindTrigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
I've heard him read ads on the sirius show, just like he always has on the radio.
I'd also like to say, that I think the Bubba the Love Sponge show is seriously much more entertaining to me than Stern, but I still enjoy some of Stern's shows once in a while. As a guy from the west coast who never hears Bubba's show before now, I'm stoked it's here. - fredtellum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"everyone knows i was the first one to pirate radio
HOO HOO tell 'em Fred"
You are scaring me sir and I am defending myself! :) - DCesque, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Don Imus is still being broadcast down here in DC..and get this...he is on first thing in the morning on AM1260, which is a progressive talk station that plays Air America Radio on the rest of the day! Strange, right? I tuned in early one morning to hear some Bush bashing, listened for 10 minutes before I realized OMFG, I'm listening to Imus! I had to immediatly pull over immediatly on I-66 and vomit :P
- jd230, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Howard sucks. He has NEVER been funny, and I listened to him way back when he was on WNBC.
I grew out of that kind of humor when I was 13. - CheeseMan316, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0At least I am only doing it for personal use. Obscure port shoutcast server and replay radio. I re-broadcast howie for me to listen and work... and for when i'm in the car or meetings, i record and ship the mp3's up to the office!
:D - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol he switched to sirius not xm.. u seem to know a lot about him
- saysaknow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I hate the word "fanboy."

You'd rather listen to George W than Howard. Well have fun in Iraq while we're all back here laughing are asses off listening to Stern. Also, it's ok to write "son of a bitch" instead of SOB. What a ***** prude. RIGHT! - vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where does it say on the page he thinks they are geniuses ? Are even anything remotely to that effect?
"Howard noted that it amazed him that people had the time to..."
That sort of statement usually leads to an insult. - neverender, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i linked to this article yesterday.

- Mysticcal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OH NOES!? They figured us out! Hide the Pr0n Man! Hide the Pr0n!
*throws himself on his stash to hide it from possible cops breaking in at any second* - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think it's an interesting statement made in rebroadcasting over FM (if i had a radio I would tune in!) but I'll just get his show from Demonoid.com if I want to listen.
Betta Do Pirate Howard!

- robnoxious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0... more importantly ... how do I get me a feed of Howard?
- fullcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like Howard Stern but I think he needs to get a more original logo.. Its like saying he created the hole socialist ideology or something..
http://images.google.com.au/images?q=socialist+fist&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&start=0&sa=N - mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i hate Howard Stern, but I respect that he doesn't care (openly) about piracy, since there is nothing much he can do to stop it, it's smarter to act like it doesn't bother him.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Sirius-lyyyy!!! Howard tears up his competition! Imus is back out with his crack out on MSNBC!
- dogbyte_13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Howard100+HardAttack+Faction Radio = FTW
- leonbev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Sorry Howard, but I'm STILL not upgrading until satellite radio until one of the major competitors goes bust. Neither XM or Sirius are making a profit right now, and it's only a matter of time until one of them folds.
I don't want to be on the losing end of a format war, like all those poor folks that bought DivX DVD players and BetaMAX VCR's. - MoeB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0um he has his 500 millions, i dont think he cares.
