- JohnInMT, on 12/28/2007, -0/+4The sites http://craigshelper.com and http://crazedlist.org work well too for this. Used those both quite a bit lately.
- rcollamore, on 05/19/2009, -0/+1as i've said before, a million times, it doesn't work!!
- mrstretchie, on 07/23/2009, -0/+1Except it's been shut down.
Craigshelper (now www.searchtempest.com) has been up for like 3 years... - begawk, on 12/29/2007, -0/+1Exactly! CraigsList gained massive popularity and just stopped making any improvements...
- clcompanion, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Thanks for the tip. But I think you will not be able to get the most updated list of craigslist ad by searching this way on google. The reason is because google will not be able to scan and index all of craigslist content every single second. Here is a little free tool I use to search craigslist on multiple cities. It's call CLSearch. http://www.craigslistcompanion.com/CLSearch.php?Se ...
- mrstretchie, on 07/23/2009, -0/+1Agreed, those are the best, and are the only ones that have been up for more than a month or two.
Craigshelper changed their name to http://www.searchtempest.com a few months back though. It's got a few more options than crazedlist, and works in more browsers. - CraigslistFan, on 06/16/2008, -0/+1
Found this new craigslist mashup. http://www.craigslist-search.com
Just like crazedlist and craig's helper but with picture preview if you are on a firefox browser. - rcollamore, on 05/19/2009, -1/+2lol - this is ridiculous. I created http://allofcraigs.com, which incorporates all the google search parameters, and is, by far, the best craigslist search site in comparison to the other ones mentioned here. The best "search all of craigslist" sites for real time results on the web are: 1) searchtempest and 2) crazedlist - then you have the desktop applications, like craigsreader(?).
- rcollamore, on 05/19/2009, -0/+1what's so wonderful about it? it's visually horrible (what's with all the ads?) and your search results are not that great. Case in point using an obscure search query example:
your site: Craiglist Results Search Craigslist.com - All of Craig's list ! http://bit.ly/ptNJp
my site: allofcraigs.com - Search ALL of Craigslist http://bit.ly/1YpgA
not even close - rcollamore, on 05/19/2009, -0/+1same with you - visually horrible site with terrible results:
what's with the "/index300.html" returns? - Wiini, on 12/28/2007, -1/+2Yes... this is VERY useful!
Now I can know for sure if someone was selling the item I was looking for 6 months ago in another state!
For the technically dumb: Google Indeces rarely return immediate results.. and EVEN if they did, the results they return are in no way guranteed to be current within the timeframe you search them. It takes google a long time to purge entries. Most of the entires you get will be old and useless by the time you search them. - enamuldotinfo, on 12/29/2007, -0/+0Yes, you will not get the today's postings using google. But this also means that you will get quality results because most of the spam postings are flagged or removed within 6 hours of posting and google picks the CL pages within 24 hrs.
- platipus, on 12/31/2007, -0/+0It's unfortunate that this story get buried. I don't understand why but it's true and shows serious flaws of digg system.
This story is not a spam in any means. I didn't find any other similar site on the net which works with similar content. So it's certain that it's content is original. Google Custom Search can't be considered as SPAM in any way. If so then we should blame google to allow spamming.
To those who buried this story:
Would you please explain why you got angry and bury this story? I will be obliged. - PalmBayChuck, on 07/28/2009, -0/+0This is easy to do now with Google Custom Search. You can set up your own custom search if you want. I've created two that I use. This one searches all of Craigslist:
http://www.watersworld.com/national-craigslist-sea ...
and this one lets me search just a particular state. I live in Florida and often want to search just that region.
http://www.watersworld.com/2009/07/21/state-specif ... - inactive, on 12/28/2007, -1/+1Craigslist seems to have ebay syndrome, they don't care enough about the people using the service to give them any useful features.
- inactive, on 07/08/2008, -0/+0Do you want to be notified as soon as the item that you want shows up on craigslist? then you need CragisList Reader. It won't just search multiple cities and categories on craigslist, it will also send you notifications.
http://www.motiont.com/craigslistreader.aspx - CraigslistFan, on 07/07/2008, -1/+1!!! Update for http://www.craigslist-search.com
They just added Kijiji and Oodle listings along with your craigslist search results.
That's pretty cool. - macm123456, on 09/25/2008, -0/+0Craigstoolbox Image Preview shows craigslist image previews right in the craigslist search result. It makes searching Craigslist quicker and easier. http://www.craigstoolbox.com
- CraigslistFan, on 10/29/2008, -1/+1So, we have move to a new domain at http://www.clhits.com
Please give us a try. You will love our free craigslist tools. - birwin, on 07/27/2009, -0/+0Most of these craigslist searches just use the site: command for google. Pretty simple, here is one I threw together and you can throw one together too. It is not that hard, or you can just use the site: command on google...
http://www.brianirwin.net/craigslist/searchallcrai ... - PalmBayChuck, on 07/25/2009, -0/+0Here's another one. Either nationally, or by state.
http://www.watersworld.com/national-craigslist-sea ... - ross55, on 12/09/2008, -0/+0cars search
http://rprybyslav.mine.nu:8181/craigslistsearch - SunDevilDave, on 12/19/2008, -0/+0remember, google also supports wildcards (*). so trying site:craigslist.org/*/junk will only return the junk category for all areas.
- supershwa, on 09/05/2008, -1/+0Try CraigSpy - it lets you search multiple keywords (including AND/NOT keyword features,) multiple locations, multiple categories, and it also searches for you while you're away from the computer. They update all the time and are adding more features often! Great for getting stuff BEFORE other people beat you to the punch...tickets, dvds, cameras, cars, furniture (my favorite!), cell phones, etc.
http://www.craig-spy.com is the website - jshspencer, on 12/15/2008, -1/+0http://www.craiglook.com
it has a picture browser , ZIP/Area search, bookmarks and anonymous "reply to poster" button - lilokster, on 01/22/2009, -1/+0Check out http://www.searchcraigs.com
This one doesn't have any ads(except for the google results ads).
Easy to use. It's actually my site and is not completely finished. But the all city and category search is completely functional. I am thinking of adding "search by state", it seems that is something everyone wants. There is also a way to make it show the most recent results instead of results from months ago. I am working on that too. - plightbo, on 07/06/2008, -1/+0http://www.craigslittlebuddy.com/ is pretty good too.
- smadhc, on 08/18/2008, -1/+0I've been using CL MultiCity from www.dirtlens.com, and like the straightforwardness of it. It's not free, but there are no annoying ads either.
- acr8tiv, on 11/07/2008, -1/+0oops, forgot to link: http://www.craigzoom.com
- allofcraigslist, on 11/01/2008, -1/+0Try http://www.allofcraigslist.com this sites wonderful.
- acr8tiv, on 11/06/2008, -1/+0www.CraigZoom.com - Hands down the best.
- oifloripa, on 04/28/2008, -1/+0I use this site for last 2 years, they have free and paid version. Very efficient way to use your time.
http://www.CraigsPal.com - inactive, on 04/29/2008, -1/+0CraigsList Reader from www.motiont.com will let you search multiple locations and categories.
