- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -24/+66This is so stupid, If your gonna steal, then steal. If your gonna pay, then pay. Its your choice, but paying, then stealing is idiotic. The same thing with scrubbing iTunes tracks.
- LowRentDiggs, on 10/10/2007, -1/+30Agree on Netflix, disagree on iTunes. You are only paying for rental on Netflix, you are paying for a copy of the song on iTunes. If I want to play my purchased song in another player I don't see scrubbing it as stealing. I'm sure Apple would see it differently, at least officially.
- rprince, on 10/10/2007, -4/+30Yes, damn you! When will we all be able to steal? How long must I wait before people all around the world can join hands and take things that do not belong to us! Unite!
- lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27What if I like ripping Netflix dvds to my hard drive before sending them back?
- michaelz92, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16this EXACT same story was up a few days ago, jesus christ
- lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Because I am a digital packrat.
- cryptomystic, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15why go through all the that trouble when you can just use bittorrent?
- xino, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15It's not stealing. It's copyright infringement.
- geekee, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13You paid to rent the movie, not own it. It is stealing.
- bbear, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Fight Club...
- K3ITHK, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8This is blog spam. Link directly to the source.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Yes, tie up your internet connection for 32 hours by downloading the ISO. Only morons actually rent the movie.
- AK47Jazz, on 10/10/2007, -6/+13Netflix will patch this soon and then probably take away the feature. But who cares download the movies now!
- griz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7If you rent it and keep it, not matter what the source, you are stealing. Scrubbing DRM from iTunes tracks gives you freedom to do what you want with music you purchased, not rented. Finding a way to keep Netflix downloaded rentals is not the same thing.
- PunkRampant, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7*cough* 300
- reed311, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Why would you want to rip a movie that you will only watch once? Seriously, how many of you folks watch the same movie over and over on a regular basis?
- clark24, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I agree. If you aren't going to pay for the movie then why not just get it via torrents/IRC/etc. in the first place. Anyone capable of jumping through hoops to do this is certainly capable of getting the movie illegally via other methods anyway.
- cbreaker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5No, you are infringing copyright, not stealing. When I copy your movie, you still have it. Therefore, there's no "theft" of property.
- BryanJK, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5you can just always setup a program like Camtasia Studio to record it while you watch it :P
- quaxon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5theres somethings on there that are hard to find on torrents such as the tv show city of men (based off the movie city of god) that kicks ass but every torrent ive tried to get of it didnt have subs. id love to be able to back those up on my hard drive to watch later.
- DJMajickman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Princess Bride, Holy Grail, etc., etc.
- fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6What good is it at all? By ripping it and removing the DRM and keeping it you're committing the same crime you would if you just pirated it, which is what you're paying a small fee to do.
- drummer1189, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5funny that your the only one in the thread so far to notice.
someone night surf digg a little too much - cbreaker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It's not, it's copyright infringement. When I copy your movie, you still have it. Therefore, it's not theft.
- Circuitsoft, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5There is a small select set of movies that I will watch repeatedly.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Uh, hello? Empire ***** Strikes Back? Ever heard of it?
- cbreaker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Thanks for saving me from typing that yet again. Glad at least one person out there realizes this, and isn't brainwashed by the RIAA/MPAA.
- xino, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Good point. The only reason I can think of is that the MPAA isn't at netflix.com trying to catch pirates and therefore safer.
- foofightrs777, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4FairUse4WM also will strip BBC iplayer DRM.
- jdissonant, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4What is the resolution of these videos?
- darkane, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The 'Watch Now' library only has a dozen movies worth watching, all of which you have surely seen before.
- Stormran, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Amen
- Shorties, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Will not happen, because we now know for sure they are using MS's DRM there is no chance they will get this on OSX unless they they somehow make their own DRM, iTunes DRM is closed, Apple does not license it.
- D3koy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4It depends on your browser, but my quality on high-speed wireless is pretty damn good, plus less than 45 seconds of buffering time for a feature length movie
- byrdgang, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5That's exactly why people should STFU about these things. Don't these people realize that as soon as they get the word out on some new way of obtaining copyrighted material, companies will ensure those methods are obstructed? Amazing. If you know something, don't tell anyone but close friends. Don't shout it all across the Internet.
- osbjmg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Once they have most titles on demand, it won't matter. If you paid to get it, why do you care to rip it? I see the rapid access of a personal library for the ones you get in the mail, but soon most titles will be available via the web so the point is moot if you already pay for the subscription.

That's the actual link...not blogspam - christophocles, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2what's your point?
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Shut up then?
- divxrippimp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Since none of the links worked for me except this one
http://maxupload.com/36D11188 - sirbeta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Quality comes to mind. I know if I'm ripping it myself, I'm going to get a certain quality of audio/video. Torrents are shoot and miss, and sometimes aren't even labeled properly, so you wind up with foreign language dubs. I wouldn't mind the small price for that guarantee.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah, but he deleted the backup as soon as his rental is up. It makes sense.. What if your DVD player fries the DVD somehow and you're stuck with no movie?
/sarcasm? - drummer1189, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2 []
- cbreaker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You can use FairUse4WM for all the WMV's on Videosz. Umm, not that I have first hand knowledge of that.. err, yea.
- mpn401, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Because you can get caught.
- luciferin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think that's where we get to draw the line of who is actually make art and who is making entertainment.
- kamau84, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Bittorrent is high quality. Just don't download the Cam Version.
- nakile, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Now putty and me can now watch a scary movie whenever we want.
- sinembarg0, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1There are no MP3s on iTunes. Just because it doesn't have DRM does not men that it has to be MP3. iTunes uses AAC (.m4a for iTunes plus songs).
