- Sicarius, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30I thought this would be cool to look at but unfortunately I do almost all of my googling through Firefox quicksearches and they don't seem to be recorded on my homepage.
- SilentPurity, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22And ill bet 99% of that is porn.
- shiftt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12here are the instructions for anyone that can't find it
go straight to http://www.google.com
then look at the top right corner, click on Sign In
after you sign in it will throw you back to google.com
look at the top right corner again, see the new links?
one them should say Search History - click on that and then click on Trends in the left menu
by the way, you can turn off personalized search. And if you've done so in the past, you probably won't see the Search History link - karch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1117077. In ~8 months. Mostly around 8PM and on Sundays. Top site is Wikipedia. What can I say, high school APs can be tough..
Edit: Though to be fair, i do sometimes use google for quick math and leaving reminders, though. And my mom is probably ~1000 of that. - emo1313, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I use the same quick search in opera and its recorded them all.
- BassCadet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It might be nice if the author bothered to mention that you have to *sign up* for personalized searches otherwise you won't be given a search history.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8How do you figure 12 cents per search? That cant be true. If not, correct me.
- AliP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The 12 cent figure was given on the last episode of diggnation, although it was not a concrete number, I don't think.
- yensed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7You need to sign up for the feature, Dont you?
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6your talking about entering terms into the address bar right? (not the search bar?). i do that also, and i think google does register them..
- ocram, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"Lame, mine is turned off so none of my searches were recorded. Luckily I've got my google calendar now to email me in one year so I won't forget to check."
You really think Google doesn't record them just because you can't see them? - mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8And whose websearch services DO you trust, Cap'n Consipiracy?
If you even visit web sites minimally, it's not Google that you have to worry about if you're afraid of the collection of information. The same goes if you have a bank account or a job or an internet account. If you live in society, someone knows who you are, where you live, and how much money you make. - adamlaz2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6nice little screenshot for ya

For those who can't find the link. (I googled it)
Also, apparently if you didnt search via personalized home, they dont show up, even if you were signed in. - acorn22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Ohh, so close to the ultimate....
1337! - fatsobob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I cleared mine earlier this year. I just am paranoid (Porn Searches)
- mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm not seeing anything on my personalized page indicating search results...where is this information?
- SourWorm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Thats what I normally use too, but I know that I occasionally do use searches from the homepage and still not much was showing up. Maybe I use the quicksearch more than I realized.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Why the heck would I want google to track ANY of my browsing habits? No thanks.
- mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If they had a colour to indicate ratio of porn rather than amount of searches, we'd all have some esplainin' to do...
- sithmat, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8And keep in mind Google makes 12 cents for every search you perform. So they're about $620 richer every year thanks to me.
- Skywise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3(Search History is on the top right of the google home page)
Okay either it's broken or Dugg for me... I use Google daily while signed in and there's no history of any searches I've performed.
(Or.. >gasp< I've become a non-person!) - GaryKing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I'm at 25301.
Do I win a prize? :D (And yes, I reallly did do that many searches. It shows at "Total searches: 25301" for me; unsurprisingly, for a guy like me.) - mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4...and after that, 8008135!
Hrmph. Works better on an LCD calculator. - davidv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Lame, mine is turned off so none of my searches were recorded. Luckily I've got my google calendar now to email me in one year so I won't forget to check.
- tito13kfm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3People actually search while logged in? That's a scary proposition. If my girlfriend, boss, mother, police, pretty much anybody saw the type of things I search for the might have me committed.
Like for example I just searched for "pounds of force to rip off an ear" And I found out the answer.. 16.. but I don't exactly wanting people who have access to my computer to know that. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3is that the amount you did for one year? total searches doesnt necessarily mean for 1 year, it can be more or less..
- SvobodaIT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why are you using this site then? They are collecting the sites you digg and will use that information against you when martial law is declared.
- swhite1987, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I think its just a spliced image.
- knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3you need to sign up to see.
they track them anyway. - mahler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That true ... for me neither. I somehow disabled that function a while back, when they offered personalized searches. I just wanted search-results which would show the default results that everybody got.
- Myst3r1o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How do you see how many times you've used Google? Where is that located? Also, where do I check to see if I have it on or off?
Thanks. - tamoneya, on 10/12/2007, -2/+41579 plus a fair amount done when i am not logged in or through other means.
Thing that irritates me about it is that if i middle click on the link from firefox google doesnt think i have visited any links on that search. Oh well - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3he was modded down for no reason, but yeah, the author just spliced images together..
- eklitzke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can do this with Greasemonkey, or with the CustomizeGoogle extension. I filter about.com and experts-exchange.com
- emo1313, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2and also, insert stupid question here : but where do ya find the total history calendar like in the articles screeny?
- masterren, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@ mark1372. http://www.google.com/searchhistory/ should work.
- emo1313, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I use the same quick search in opera and its recorded them all.
- farkninja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32661. I need more of a life.
- superal1394, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i found this feature, activated it used it for a week, and in complete and utter shock, deleted everything and disabled it. I fathom in a year i make well over ten thousand searches, twenty thousand wouldn't shock me either.
- sark666, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'll use this when the give me a filter option. Tons of users use google all the time, but each time it's like a fresh start, there's a missed opportunity of relationship building here.
What I want is the ability to click on a domain name in my search results and check a box to permenantly filter out a domain name. Click on enough of them and you might end up with search results circa 96.
I wanted to implement this myself with the google api, but for some reason filter can't be applied when using the api. - davidleeroth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have searched google a wopping 0 times according to this. I am ALWAYS signed in, but i use the little google search at the top right of firefox.
- CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I am very scared now because Google has recorded searched I've done while using stealther. Now that I know some deleting is in order lol.
You know what though I think it was my fault not stealther's. - CJHtxGeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Didnt realize this is a world of google fiends? (myself included), use gmail simply because its clean, but the UI is aging a bit, waiting to switch to yahoo or hotmail when they get their act together, but if google can actually turn out USEFUL tools, I'll stick around, (the new calender is first in a while, and this history is interesting too, im a tuesday googler mostly around 9pm... creepy sorta....)
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I do a lot of googling with LaunchBar as well as the quicksearch in any browser that has it.
And I believe the 12ยข figure is an average. If you don't click on ads or sponsored results I don't think you make them money. This is from memory so I could be wrong, but it makes sense. - kokobaroko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sadly you are right :(, I turned mine a year ago, and it magically flipped back on :/
plus there are results going 1.5 year back, so google ignored my request not to store that info :( - techmonkey4u, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Average of just over 6 searchs per day
- Frinkahedron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Information is temporarily unavailable."
:( - reaver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24506 in a year for me.
- kokobaroko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1btw I cant find the way to turn it off again, only to "Pause Search History", grr
