- modeless, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6How do you make a fuel cell? You price it cheaper than gasoline!
If you don't get it, read it out loud. - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There was another digg article about this...or perhaps it was a link that someone shared in a comment. I just searched back in the articles I dugg, all the way back to February, and couldn't find it.
It explained the basic idea really well, including the idea of using plastics as fillers, that are later melted/evaporated, to produce independent parts, like moving parts.
It was a great article...wish I could find it.
And now I am more hopeful, that someday, they may be able to print an acceptable pizza...and hopefully someday, we can get pizza delivered by fax! :-) - MrVisible, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It's interesting to see this applied to devices we can already produce conventionally, but I'm curious as to what we'll be able to create as this technology matures.
And what happens when desktop manufacturing units become affordable for individuals? Buy a pattern, feed it into the printer, and a while later you've got a new doodad.
The future's gonna be fun. - konrad8ha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've seen this kind of thechnology months back at the Fraunhofer Institute in Berlin. The guys there were pretty much producing the exact same thing, printing circuits and even parts of fuel-cells instead of 'manufacturing' them. I even did an animation for it, you can watch it on my homepage:

- redneckblues, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I would like to see a thin fuel cell.
- 4ooFdvr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What I want to know is how you produce cheap hydrogen cleanly?
- redneckblues, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Perhaps porn and energy generation will finally become one.
- micaheli, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Neat...
- onlyheretohelp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1jeez man i thought i was lazy...

- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2Yeah, this doesn't have to do with this article but I just found a website that pays you for getting people to switch to firefox but I am too lazy/busy to make a good title / dupe search so here is the link anyone that wants to submit it as a story can
