- euphemizeme, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43Wow... didn't know kids could start turning a profit that young. I may decide to impregnate my wife after all.
- scispaz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37Here's another suggestion: Don't use whatever font that kid is using.
My eyes burn. Also, don't use comic sans. Please. - Kokichi, on 10/12/2007, -7/+43@ stanford
Why don't you post your picture so we can all decide what animal has the misfortune of resembling you? - Flummoxer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36Wow!! You mean your blog actually needs quality content to get visitors?! Who would have thunk.
- teknotant, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35How to drive traffic to your blog: Tell everyone a 12 year old has the answer
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -4/+311: Add a "digg it" link within the first paragraph of your blog.
- Wonderkind, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26"That kid looks like a beaver."
Remember that in about 14 years when he's your supervisor. - bergur1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24why haven't you already is she too shy?
- Flashman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23I just got out of jail for using a 12-year-old to drive traffic to my website... just don't. No matter how old you think they look.
(If you laughed, you're going to hell too.) - vexingmodstwo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Wow, do I feel old.
- Skyhoper, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Blog spam digg -> Profit. It's way to call yourself a Pro.
- digg-dugg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Wow, it says this was written tomorrow!
- Shaggy6ster, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20so its another boring blog about how to write boring blogs. but this time its written by a 12 year old.
what a twist! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+24webtickle...don't insult him. He doesn't seem like a huge prick at all.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16This is NOT his site. He just has an article on it.
- unlimitedorb, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20How much wood would a woodchuck chuck...?
- arcrad, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Your comment is very poorly written considering it concerns the kids ability to write.
- snorri, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Holy *****. I feel like I've wasted parts of my life.
When I was 12, all I did was masturbate and check out internet porn. Though not in that order. - d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12You must have very low expectations for 7th graders.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Hey I believe it, just because most teens are out wasting away doesn't mean we can't be smart too and have a life ahead of us.
- digg-dugg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Keep up the good work kid!
- picto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9http://www.techzi.net/about/
This joint is run pretty much by pre-pubescent kids...so how again are they a credible source for anything? Although, this did make me laugh: "The names Williams. Timothy Williams. Specially trained MI6 agent, crack SWAT team leader & secret services undercover ops."
***** kids... - d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Where I went to school, every twelve year wrote at least that well. It's nothing amazing; simply standard intelligence plus decent training.
- spyd3rweb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10How to drive traffic to your blog... get it on the front page of digg of course.
- Dolemite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5...and the lemmings shall jump off the cliff.
- SoundJudgment, on 10/12/2007, -8/+13Who actually believes the sole author of that Blog was only 12 years old at the time it was written? Show of hands...
...crickets....
Thank you. - Firehed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Hmm... I'm a bit concerned now. I might just have started coding before he was born, and I'm still a teenager, although I think I started web work around his age. But I found the web to be extremely profitable by around fifteen or so. Just because most kids are morons doesn't mean they all are, although it makes me frown upon humanity just a bit when the smart ones (or the ones that can, at the very least, slap adsense on a blog and get some articles dugg) are the exception to the rule.
- SoundJudgment, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Right! I agree with this. No Internet child-prodigy there.
- Suspected, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I don't believe he's the actual writer. It's not so much due to grammar or spelling, but rather due to the fluency and flow of his article. 12 year olds just don't write like that; my bet is that he's just someone who is claiming he's 12 to get more attention.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"This Blog layout is not working for me, you're fired"
- Auto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"Techzi attracts tens of thousands of Technology, Gadget, Gaming & Internet crazed fans, readers & viewers each and every month. Our readers are a passionate bunch, with a keen eye for startups, gadgets & websites. Many of the entrepreneurs who come to Techzi, either to get advice, or find the latest tech news, understand that it’s important for us to have sponsors, in order for us to get a healthy cashflow balance."
Tens of thousands? The kid has 2 comments on his latest entry.
And the price he's charging for ad-space, my God! - ddig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I thought this would be cute. Some thoughts on how to get a personal message across. But "SEO" is the first item. Go away, kid.
- MurderMystery, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4All you need is random pictures of cats in zany situations. That would be considered high quality content.
LOL LOOK AT THAT CAT! HES IN MY FRIDGE STEALIN MY FOODZ!! - boris4ka, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Wow. I started basic html in 5th grade, I'm 15 now, know java/c++/php/css/html and have a .com blog on my own hosting with around 30 unique world-wide visitors a day, which isn't bad considering i write once in two weeks. So, those of you who don't believe he's 12, he can very well be.
- oziii, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5don't stress David - you're alright and while a small % of those commenting here can't help but resort to snide remarks and skepticism (without bothering to do even a little of fact checking) the vast majority of readers will check out your blogging and be impressed by your talent.
Keep on doing what you're doing and don't let the vocal minority distract you from what you obviously love doing.
The irony is that you're one of the few on this comment stream who are not acting like a 12 year old - some of the others should have a good hard look at themselves and grow up.
Blog on mate! - Dolemite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3So tell us how much traffic have you generated for sites other than yours? Or is this just an article about your own experiences? This article would carry a lot more weight (and a lot less flames) if this theory was applied in real life with examples.
- Fabre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I remember 'designing' my first website when I was about ten. Ah, those were the days, Geocities, millions of animated GIFs, and annoying Javascript popup windows.
- Suspected, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@d00ley
You should go back to school and ask them to teach you how to properly use semicolons. Your writing it too weak to recognize quality work. - jman8888, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Im 14, Use linux, Program PHP & SQL
Run a gaming Site
A Forum
A Blog

Photoshop
And used to Web design.
So yeah. - mahdaeng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2keep it up kids! i wish the internet would have been around when i was your age. it's the perfect environment, in my opinion, for young people to learn about business, creativity, etc.
keep it up. - EmperorPsiblade, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Wow...
This comment is absolutely the most ironic (read: retarded) comment I've seen all day...
@ kdmaster
You are quick to debase his writing and claim your own writing is superior, but you don't see the irony in the fact that you write FAR worse? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Of course you could always give design a go yourself as I did at Techzi.net - though admittedly I enlisted the help of two professional designers as well..."
Enlisted the help of two professional designers = I downloaded a free Wordpress template that is also used by thousands of other people. - Jjcd7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ha, man, I'm 13, and I need some traffic to my blog.
It doesn't really have a purpose, just my opinion on news and tech, and things you may not have heard about.
But, these things are all pretty basic, SEO is pretty important, so is being unique. - leonbev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So... The key to getting traffic to your blog is to pretend to be pre-teenager and get your blog posted on Digg? Good idea!
Anyway, here's the link to my free software blog:
http://tjfreesoftware.blogspot.com
By the way, I'm 11. Yeah, that's it... 11 :) - tjogin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That kid has got a lot to learn if he thinks writing a blog post, on any blog, is the opportunity of a lifetime.
- leonbev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah... I think that dear old Mom and Pop are Internet marketing gurus. Someone is definitely helping this kid out with his sales language.
- weetz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Why the hell didn't you build your own damn computer?
What kind of techy orders one?!? - orlyfactor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow that kid has one giant TOOTH! That's one way to make me scared of his blog.
- ucg1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The writing on his blog is relatively good. Good writing is just a matter of practice. It can be influenced by what you read, too. I think a 12-year-old is completely capable of that, especially if he started writing at an early age. Your typical 12-year-old isn't going to be that good, but smart kids do exist.
The technology side of things is quite believable. By age 12, I had already been programming for 5 years (BASIC, C, assembly language), so I don't think setting up a Wordpress blog and doing some HTML/CSS is that big a deal. Kids also have a lot of free time to do this kind of stuff (at least some of them do).
He does list a lot of other people who are involved in the blog, so he's probably not doing it all. - Saffa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sheesh, when I was 12 I was still playing with He-Man :(
