- dynacrylic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I've been working on redesigning my work's site (it's for an academic institution). Every student I've talked to wants more 2.0- they want to be able to blog, comment, add friends and, most importantly, ADD CONTENT. They're are many staff members who 'offer their opinions' on the 2.0 stuff and feel it's a fad and/or useless for college students. There are fewer who actually feel that the 'old school' (pardon the pun) way of doing things is coming to an end and acknowledge the demand. I'm put in a bind because I do not have the resources, but most importantly, the support of the majority of the staff to attempt such a bold site (bold for academic institutions that is).
I only share this because our goal in redesigning our site is to increase traffic, ease of use and retention. Obviously right now we are not taking into consideration of certain points made in the article. Such a shame too... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"everyone posting their useless and uninformed opinions. YAY for Web 2.0! But I want to Blog! My opinion *matters*!!!
Ummm, only to your little circle of like minded friends."
The irony is strong in this one. - jonathono2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Seriously, did this guy make a comment on a web 2.0 site about how nobody cares about people's comments on web 2.0 sites.
And the universe implodes in 5...4...3...2...1... - elhaf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Posts like this reveal that your audience likes itself.
- rudy23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow this article sure seems to be mad popular
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It says a lot, unless a Billion Dollar corporation is paying marketing groups and Shills to come in ans skew the results, like Microsoft does.
Then is says nothing except that democracy must be protected, or it will get drowned out by liars as soon as it start to make changes. - BigSlacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The problem is the sample doesn't have enough diversity to tell you much of anything. You only find out what the limited group of people that like to comment on web sites think.

- SteelChicken, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Considering the quality of content most people add with this whole fancy "Web 2.0" thing, I don't get all the hype.
The low bandwidth and easily ignored bad color schemes and spinning logos of the late 90's have been replaced with bandwidth clogging stupid videos of kids screwing around and everyone posting their useless and uninformed opinions. YAY for Web 2.0! But I want to Blog! My opinion *matters*!!!
Ummm, only to your little circle of like minded friends.
