- amandaw33, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5nice. at first I thought you meant how much digg.com itself is worth though with the title.
- carusen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Interesting article and your story was quite funny. :)
It deserved the "frontpage" on Digg. - invader, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2varies quite a bit from the two experiments i ran last month
#1 (12/15) - one adsense ad next to a flash tool
2300 diggs, front page after about 12 hours (hit around 3:30pm on a friday), 8k ad impressions (160x600 wide skyscraper) = $35 revenue
#2 (12/31) - 5 page article with one adsense ad in the middle of the content of each page
770 diggs, front page after about 8 hours (hit around 10am on a sunday), 11k ad impressions (468x60 banner) = $15 revenue
i didn't get too much from SU, but got quite a few visitors from del.icio.us - HMTKSteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My site is the one that this Digg links to.
First day AdSense impressions were in the 20K+ range.
Second day were in the 15K+ range.
Third day were in the 10K+ range.
I can not chow actual numbers as that would violate the AdSense TOS.
While the advs were getting displayed (I thought Diggers blocked advs?) I was not getting the majority of the traffic, it was going via duggmirror due to problems with my web hosting company locking out my blog directory!
Something happened on the third day to trigger adv clicking. The first two days had almost no adv clicking going on, the third had a ton of adv clicking. I do not understand this one bit. I also do not know when it was submitted to StumbleUpon. - camturner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When one of MY articles made the front page (http://www.camturner.com/archives/11-best-geek-board-games/) I made over $300 in Amazon earnings over the following 3 weeks. It's since died off almost completely. Lets see if those earnings keep up, because I doubt they will.
Cam - beelz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3If you made that much in one day I wonder how much digg makes in one day? digg deserves every penny of it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3i wonder how much you are gonna make this time when you hit the front page. especially since people will be clicking on your ads on purpose.
- HMTKSteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My Amazon links are the worst! If you are pushing board games might I suggest a funagain.com affiliate instead?
- JaneMay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interesting article. I didn't realize that it would take so long for the traffic to hit after your post on Wed. From the articles I've read on the front page, it seems as if minutes pass by and they are bombarded with traffic. But you're right, i bet it varies from person to person.
- HMTKSteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This story *IS* buried yet no red thumbs down icon appears beside it... What does this mean?
- HMTKSteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.duggmirror.com it's not down but I want to see the duggmirror stats.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And he probably would if the digg modders hadn't buried it.
- wonboodoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good story and you just made the front page again. Looks like you're about to make another $150 :-)
