- redux2redux, on 08/05/2008, -4/+246mandatory "Pics or it didn't happen..."
- dsenman, on 08/05/2008, -7/+194That's creepy.
But 99% of diggers would do it if they knew they could get away with it. - spoonchucks, on 08/05/2008, -18/+137Creepy as *****, but unless this guy was paid, I'm not sympathetic at all. Most chicks will assume that computer repair from geeks is free.
"ZOMG, the guy I took advantage of took advantage of me!" - thegrantman, on 08/06/2008, -2/+77Her"trusted friend" promptly transfered all 20,000 pics to a folder named "Thanks Craig!"
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -4/+70I'm doing it at this very moment. Watching you naked is worth the risk.
- gcauthon, on 08/05/2008, -6/+68FTA, "Garcia then took her machine to another computer expert—a trusted friend this time". So she has a trusted friend that is a computer expert, but she went to some stranger to get her computer fixed. I would be pissed off if I was her "friend".
- Armor1901, on 08/06/2008, -4/+61WHERE ARE THE DAMN PICS?!
Seriously, who here has any REAL interest in this article, if not for pics? EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU SCANNED THE COMMENTS DOWN HERE FOR A LINK TO SOME PICS don't even pretend you didn't!
Also, the thumbnail was perfect. Dugg - LiberalKid, on 08/06/2008, -3/+59Clearly you aren't aware with Section 6 Code 5 of the Law of Computer Repair:
If a chick thinks you fixing her computer is free, you have every right to install software onto her laptop which will allow you to photograph her nude. - danielcmetz, on 08/05/2008, -0/+50she's downloading torrents
- BigManOnCampus, on 08/06/2008, -1/+48He should have done a better job coding his software, then there wouldn't have been a noticeable performance hit.
- ashleegirl, on 08/06/2008, -3/+50I actually was topless when I stumbled across this story on my laptop. Some people like being naked.
- BossKey, on 08/06/2008, -1/+47you misspelled "moar"
- sandiegodude, on 08/06/2008, -1/+46Wow, you really thought this one through didn't you?
- mrbradg, on 08/06/2008, -8/+48Of course we don't have pics but IF we did I would hope they would look like this: NSFW: http://tinyurl.com/6b9lud
I'm just saying.... - Pittance, on 08/05/2008, -2/+42Or he could have named the program something less obvious. And hide the program inside another folder. Maybe make it not show up on the Installed programs list. Also, make an automatic uninstaller that runs whenever someone activates the program without logging into Log Me In (that one might be tricky, or another method).
- Optiks, on 08/05/2008, -7/+46Dude's a scumbag, no doubt. But c'mon girl, how tough is it to close the notebook when you're not using it?
- jon7187, on 08/05/2008, -5/+44Only 20,000? more pics plz
- zackintosh, on 08/06/2008, -2/+38We need a hero tag.
- skipthefrog, on 08/05/2008, -3/+34Kids these days...
- sandiegodude, on 08/06/2008, -1/+32I don't know why, but folks with little computer experience are always sooooo quick to hand over their laptop or desktop to random folks for help. A coworker of mine was having issues with her laptop, which she said her roommate's brother had tried to fix a few months previous. That thing had so much malware running on it, the cleanup was killer (like smitt fraud. GOD I hate trying to remove that *****)
- xero69, on 08/05/2008, -1/+32That guy must be really hard up for some amateur/real porn if he coded his own program
- abbathdoom, on 08/06/2008, -0/+30Why not write an app that uses the webcam without making the light show? I'm sure it must be possible.
- bparrish, on 08/06/2008, -0/+29mind if i "repair" your laptop? don't mind the hidden software.
- Stavrosian, on 08/06/2008, -1/+30I guess the other 1% just do it even though they know they might get caught.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+27Awesome.
- septicmadman, on 08/06/2008, -1/+27or break the light.
- BluesFan, on 08/06/2008, -2/+27I wouldn't doubt the government is using the same tactics as this guy....only it's not a crime anymore when they do it.
- lougoose, on 08/06/2008, -0/+24Geek Squad can do that for a mere $9.95
- ewsherm, on 08/06/2008, -4/+28alright since no one else said it
***** or gtfo - inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+24Would probably require an alteration of the driver
- violentvinyl, on 08/06/2008, -0/+22Someone just made 13 new friends...
- ignisatra, on 08/06/2008, -0/+20I really expected it to be at least be one of the first 3 comments... Fourth is despicable.
- louse101, on 08/05/2008, -6/+26Geez, I made a bit of cash fixing computers when I was in college, which I naturally spent mostly on porn. If I had thought of this I could have saved enough cash to buy my own computer to fix.
- BossKey, on 08/06/2008, -1/+21That's because you don't have every friend and relative already asking you to "fix" their computers because they know you "know computers." The friend probably wasn't that interested in fixing her computer originally.*
*unless she's hot - D4CH, on 08/06/2008, -1/+18What?! Pay for porn?!
- ienjoyrolling, on 08/06/2008, -3/+20why bother when the internet is a wonderful source of better pornographic material
- bitterbug, on 08/06/2008, -0/+16If anyone asks me to fix theirs, and there's even one piece of malware on it the machine gets wiped.
Documents get backed up, scanned for whatever crap might be hidden among them, and then it gets a fresh install.
Damned if I'm going to spend hours playing whack-a-mole with rogue software. - cycledesign, on 08/06/2008, -14/+30Sorry those aren't comparable at all. Even if she "took advantage" of him by asking him to do it for free, unless she lied and breached a contract she didn't commit a crime. Being rude is not equivalent to taking secret nude pictures of someone.
- curseoflou, on 08/06/2008, -0/+15my thoughts exactly. also does this chick even wear clothes.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -3/+18Well, I sure hope it is NOT possible.
- Redpaw360, on 08/06/2008, -2/+1720,000 photos, she better be SMOKING HOT !!
- trogdor282, on 08/06/2008, -0/+14Who uses a computer with their clothes on???
- BaseballGuyCAA, on 08/06/2008, -1/+15The fact that there is one person who buried this comment stuns me.
- Taiyoryu, on 08/06/2008, -0/+14The replies in this thread would be so different if parent wasn't female.
- willynilly2008, on 08/06/2008, -0/+13Try 999.95.
...and they would install the wrong drivers. - GnarKill69, on 08/06/2008, -0/+13This is kind of strange. I have the same problem with my laptop. I bought it at Staples and it's refurbished. I noticed at completely random times that the LED on my built-in webcam flashes.
This somewhat creeps me out. But there's still a chance that some hot chick watches me when I touch myself at night. - valentino600, on 08/06/2008, -0/+13"It all started when Marisel Garcia started having laptop problems while visiting friends in Gainesville, Florida, "
- Gee1004, on 08/06/2008, -1/+13http://www.webcamspyhacker.com/
- Tenoq, on 08/06/2008, -1/+13I'm paranoid enough that I insist my girlfriend puts a cover over the webcam when she's not using it. Even thought the machine is secured with AV/firewall/etc - can't be too careful. It is Windows, after all, and she DOES click on the awesomesong.mp3.exe files. :p
