- JakeBC, on 11/03/2008, -0/+8So how long does everyone figure for this to become mainstream? Hi-def took, what, about 15 years?

- inactive, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5lol hdtv ads being watched on regular tv.
- Lane, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5The fabrication tech to make screens with such a pixel density to be able to be used as say a computer monitor just doesnt exist.

If you were born in the 60s, it'd be like a movie set in 1915. - hungryduck, on 11/03/2008, -2/+5DOH HO HO HO HO HO HO HO
- pooljoe, on 11/03/2008, -2/+4"A sheet of tiny lenticules is fixed onto a high-resolution LCD display in such a way that each eye sees a slightly different view of each image pixel. The effect is akin to those 3-D plastic postcards that look a bit like a hologram if you view them at the correct angle."
Awsome concept but what would the viewing angle be and if it is in fact like those hologram cards and you dont look at it from the right angle it not only isnt 3-D is looks horrible. - ScientistBlah, on 11/03/2008, -2/+4***** sharks!

- zhulien, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2hmm lenticules... given I watch tv 99% of the time laying down on my side on the couch, does that mean the picture becomes a blur or can you rotate the lenticules 90 degrees?
- audomatix, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1It was my moment though!!!! MINE!!!!!
and I waited for so long! ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Look what digg has done to me... I'm a monster - clokwise, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1These 3D screens are commonplace in my town, Bangkok. You see them at the shopping malls running product ads. They've been around for at least a couple years and most people don't even stop to look at them anymore - the novelty has worn off. What I don't understand is why these screens are not already for sale. What's the holdup??
- inactive, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1Remember the movie Arcade?
- khellendros1984, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1I've seen this in person at the Consumer Electronics Show. It was spectacular.... and it gave me a headache within seconds.
- FLarsen, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1The current drivers supports shutter glasses, if I'm not completely mistaken. So all you need is a screen capable of 120+ fps and a computer with a game capable of the same, unless you want lag.
Also, there exists polarized screens you can buy. - andre321, on 11/04/2008, -0/+1Motion sickness FTW!
- jamesmcm, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1Why can't this be done on normal monitors? Obviously it requires very high resolutions but most monitors can provide that. Did miss something about some special required technology?
- Lucifugerising, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1Welcome to BRAINSCAN!!!

- Slybri, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1I was a big fan of the old nvidia Shutter glasses. You could play pretty much any game in full 3D. Even World of Warcraft.
But then Nvidia decided to stop supporting them with the special drivers they put out. They only worked on CRT monitors with high refresh rates, and no one uses those anymore (except me). The effect did give you a bit of a headache after a while, and the image was a bit dark. But it was worth it. It was as close to virtual reality as a home consumer could get.
Nividia claims they are bringing the shutter glasses back with new high refresh rate LCDs. They should be more affordable than these "no glasses" monitors, and on the market sooner. I am saving my money and waiting anxiously. - Arkz, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1lol yeah, i remember they used to put DVD adds on VHS tapes
- bluekross, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH HO HO HO HO HO HOOO
- Rudegar, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1"and no glasses" always picking on 4 eyes :S :P
- roxgod666, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1Nice job hogging the jokes
- protodon, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1Now buy one of these and put it in the family room for thanksgiving but don't tell anyone it's a 3D tv. It'll ***** them up!
