- EmitStop, on 03/17/2008, -7/+86Everyday Digg becomes a little bit more like 4chan...
- TheTaoOfBill, on 03/17/2008, -3/+24True but how is that relevant to this article. This article is a heavily tech based article and is about one of the most respected members of the tech community. This is what digg was all about in it's concept.
- rjam710, on 03/17/2008, -10/+2It's relevant because instead of discussing this tech story, we're organizing an attack on a video hosting site for no other reason than to try and bring it down? And for what, our own childish enjoyment?
And I swear if I see another damn LOLcat, I'll... I'll throw this puppy off a cliff! (...too soon?)- razrielle, on 03/17/2008, -2/+7and as a 4 channer would say: "Do it *****"
- piwy, on 03/17/2008, -0/+4Since you obviously don't listen to twit, Leo is planning on doing a video show now. This of course cannot be done on a crappy streaming service. What we are doing here is how much it can take.
It's not childish enjoyment. Streaming services like this do it themselves all the time. Id say it's one of the better ways to get actual real world results.

- Lewie, on 03/17/2008, -2/+3Why not? It's always fun when like-minded people assemble to do cool stuff. It's also easier to get things accomplished when there are thousands or millions of people to help out (strength in numbers).

- mike17032, on 03/17/2008, -0/+6Leo was on Tech TV with Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg. Kevin also used to be on most of the early TWiT podcasts that Leo hosts.
Leo is awsome, and still makes some great stuff. - glialisback, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Welcome to the 90s.
- dfeifer, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1I thought he started a new show that airs up in canada a couple of months ago?
- Anonchrist, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Leo was the star of Call For Help, before TechTV was destroyed by G4.
- Cyre, on 03/17/2008, -31/+25Who is he?
- scrag10, on 03/17/2008, -1/+12He hosted G4 tech TV's "screen savers" and I believe so did Kevin Rose (digg founder)?
- G33k0ft3chz, on 03/17/2008, -2/+9Right. Kevin was Leo's replacement on Screen Savers after Leo quit/was fired/left from Techtv.
- JeffD, on 03/17/2008, -0/+3Sort of, they were on the show together for a fair bit of time too though.
- piwy, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1They were both on at the same time for a long while. Kevin used to bring us dark ti[s from time to time.

- mysedai, on 03/17/2008, -0/+13I wish I could digg this a thousand times.
- geoken, on 03/17/2008, -18/+5He has a show where people ask tech related question and he answers them incorrectly while acting like he knows what he's talking about.
- Walker2323, on 03/17/2008, -0/+7Actually, Leo usually pretends like he doesn't know what he's talking about in order to have his guest explain it in their own words to the audience.
Nice try, though. - geoken, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1You mean like last time I watched his show and he told some guy that the low framerate on his webcam was due, mostly, to the bandwidth limitations of USB? I guess the 720p HD-DVD's I watch with the 360 HD-DVD add-on, which connects through USB, must be imaginary.
I can't remember ever watching the show and not seeing a similarly erroneous comment.

- centran, on 03/17/2008, -1/+3http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Laporte
There is a crappy wiki article. In short. Started off writing tech articles -> moved on to tech talk radio -> worked on some shows and started one in mid 90s -> most famous for hosting a tech help/talk tv show on techtv -> has moved back to his radio roots with "netcasts"
- scrag10, on 03/17/2008, -1/+12He hosted G4 tech TV's "screen savers" and I believe so did Kevin Rose (digg founder)?
- Nobiting, on 03/17/2008, -17/+37JOIN REV3 LEO!!!!
- G33k0ft3chz, on 03/17/2008, -4/+29I really doubt Leo would want to go to Revision3. Totally different fanbase. One has frat boys and "myspace" teens, and the other has people that are willing to know technology.
- Okari, on 03/17/2008, -4/+23And what, host a show that's not about technology? Rev3 has become crap, and the one tech show they do have is dumbed down.
- sickswaystop, on 03/17/2008, -7/+1it is what it is
- EBFoxbat, on 03/17/2008, -0/+10Which is... a huge disappointment. I don't care if they have dumbed-down tech shows. I just won't watch those. if they add content I like I'll watch those. It's hard to do folks. Think about it, other then Tech TV (et al) who else has EVER done it?
- mab0111, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1To be honest I always saw TechTV as a sort-of intermediate expertise level required to watch most stuff. They catered to the beginners and the experts, but never went too far either way. This is most of what got me tuning in and associating myself with something that i would've otherwise found geeky. In the short 3 years I watched TSS and TechTV, not only did I feel a bond with the hosts but the viewership. Importantly though, I found the segments they covered mainly catered to neither side, they were both interesting and informative. Whether you were a beginner or an expert, TSS had something for everyone. This is what I feel Rev3 has tried to replicate with Tekzilla, though with not as much success at first. The segments they've been producing lately, though they will never replace TSS, have done the best I've seen to reproduce that same feeling. I love Leo and TWiT, but Rev3 staffers is like a list of who was who of TechTV, and that has always excited me about their potential, especially with some of their shows going somewhat mainstream ie cult followings these days. So while you may see Rev3 as a fledgling network with crap, it's caused me to reminisce more of the glory days of TSS, which coincidentally ended 3 years ago tomorrow. This post ended up being long enough to blog about actually, but I had to put in my 2 cents.
(Come to think about it I should blog this, submit it, then make the front page tomorrow!, jk)

- bingobongony, on 03/17/2008, -18/+2I know one person who will be gald to try. Digg's own resident child molester ussoldier. He loves "webcamming" with 14 year old girls. That is until they find out he is in his late 30s and kick him out. Then he calls them bitches. (Imagine if they knew that he said there is nothing wrong with a 40 year old man having sex with a 4 year old girl as long as "she wants it too.")
- coit, on 03/17/2008, -0/+5How am I so lucky as to always run into your ussoldier bashing comments?
- bingobongony, on 03/17/2008, -3/+1Are you suggesting that he doesn't DESERVE it? He is someone who spent time in jail for molesting a FOUR YEAR OLD GIRL, yet still says that there is nothing wrong with doing so. And because of that, he thinks that the world owes him something. The man is a sick individual
- coit, on 03/17/2008, -1/+2Perhaps digg.com is not the place to achieve your goals?
- bingobongony, on 03/17/2008, -3/+1The amazing this is that you are actually using this account as if you expect to not get banned. You are making friends, and posting comments to regular stories as if you expect to be using this account for a long time. It is a violation of the TOS to impersonate another digg user. Reported.
- bingobongony, on 03/17/2008, -3/+1I am simply pointing out a dangerous man whenever he continues with his dangerous actions. Again...this man REPEATEDLY tries to have inappropriate relations with underage girls, and says there there is nthing wrong with having sex with a 5 year old.
Trust me, if I know who he was, I would see if he is violating his parole by trying to anonymously chat/webcam with 15 year old girls. But I don't know who he is.

Now, I'm not exactly sure what that means. I'm presuming some sort of music, or content that he shows.
Wow, that's really sad. Not sad for Leo. Leo's frickin awesome. It's sad that we've come to that point in history, though.- rbond, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1The funny thing is that I can pull up his radio stream and I can hear and see the action at the same time. So it really is just one big inconvenience.
- Nothlit, on 03/17/2008, -0/+6It has to do with his radio show. For a while, he used to stream his radio show live over Stickam / Ustream. However, some of the affiliate radio stations that carry his show got upset that people could listen to the show ad-free on Leo's site instead of being forced to listen to their commercial-laden streams (or actually listen over the air). So now he typically just streams the video with no audio, so you have to go listen to one of the affiliate radio stations' streams, which is never in sync with the video stream.
- Borramakot, on 03/17/2008, -1/+5So did he mention something about this in some broadcast I missed, or could sputnike be setting us all up for the best DDoS attack of all time?
