There was a book floating around the net weeks ago that was near 650 pages, and was purported to be HPDH, but it turned out to be an elaborate piece of fanfiction. I can't seem to access this one, but it seems to have some key characteristics.
Can anyone tell me these things: does Ron marry Hermione? Does Harry marry Ginny? Does it end in the far future? Are there some strangely added sexish scenes? If these things are in this supposed leak, then I'm guessing it's the same book that was out a while back, and a known fake.- DarKnight90, on 10/11/2007, -7/+54This is real the end says. Harry kills he who must not be named with the help of snape. Hagard saves Ron but couldn't save Hermonie and after a long battle. Hermione gets killed and when Ron goes back home and his mom got scared And said "you’re moving with your aunte and uncle in bel-air" I whistled for a cab and when it came near the Licensplate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror If anything I could say that this cab was rare But I thought now forget it, yo home to bel-airI pulled up to a house about seven or eight And I yelled to the cabby "yo, home smell you later" Looked at my kingdom I was finally there To settle my throne as the prince of bel-air.

- lgc90, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Yeah. That's the fanfiction one I read. I knew it was fake because of all of the ridiculously thick romance. You can get it from the source: http://www.melindaleo.com/fics/tsh/
- OgnodoD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1No, this isn't the same one as that fanfiction one. And yes, it has an epilogue that talks about the future. However, those similarities mean nothing, because Jo has always said that there would be an epilogue telling what became of the main characters.
- lansuggs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Thanks for the info. I finally dld it, and I'm almost convinced that this is legit.

This is clearly incorrect. I read through some of the ending, couldn't quite make sense of it all, but from what I can tell, Neville plays a huge part in the ending.

- DrawingTheSun, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I would dump the camera somewhere and pull up the carpet.
If he took the time to take hundreds of photographs of the book his going to need a very good excuse to get out of this one. - Logicwax, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13could someone explain to me how a serial number in an EXIF tag can be resolved to an individual?
when you buy a digital camera is it common for the serial number to be recorded somewhere with a ID of whomever bought it?
I mean what is to stop someone from buying a Digital Rebel at best buy with cash?
just seems like everyone is making a big deal about the EXIF tag.....I was expecting like an alias or email address or something.......but a serial number? don't think that would give authorities any clue..- Aiwanei, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It is called a warranty. If you register the warranty of your camera, you have to give the serial information. From that they could subpeonas from cannon and viola they have a name and address and everything.
- TechCF, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The same guy probably registered his camera with Canon too

This is something like how the Melissa virus author was tracked down. The virus encoded the author's MAC address into a word document or something. They found another doc in the internet with the same MAC address encoded, along with a name. They searched the person's computer and found evidence.

* Harry has married Ginny, their three children are named Lily, James, and Albus Severus.
* Draco Malfoy has a son named Scorpius
The epilogue shows all of the children boarding the train for Hogwarts together.
The final lines of the book are:
* "The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well."
* "NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!" : Molly Weasley, to Bellatrix Lestrange, P. 736

I don't particularly care that you've uploaded this, but after seeing your stories about uploading the book and your comments in this thread, I just had to comment. You are extraordinarily retarded if you think you're not about to get a lawsuit and maybe even criminal charges slapped down on you, and you're even more retarded for readily admitting having uploaded this in such a public venue. It doesn't matter that you didn't take the pictures. It doesn't matter that you aren't the only one uploading them (though it appears you might have been the first, what with the other Digg story you posted announcing that you were uploading the book). In the last picture, it clearly shows that the last page is 759. Unless they are referring to something else with ink-and-paper, this is most certainly a fake.- TocsinFilms, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Look up about 4 comments, and see my post about this NOT being fake. - Zreitan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1i suppose i coud believe that. the actual story of a book often starts on page 10 or 15, and this being such an impartant book in the series im sure JKR did a bit of gushing over this being the last book at the beginning. that could extend the book another 30 pages, with other stuff too...

- dn11, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2if you count the actual number of pages, as in sheets of paper, including title page, table of contents etc.. I'm willing to bet you get pretty close to the 784 pgs mark
- alecperkins, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The number of pages gave me some doubt, but then I checked the ISBN and it looks to be right, if the one on Wikipedia is correct. So, if it's a fake, it would be surprising for them to get the ISBN right but have the wrong number of pages. I think it's more likely that the number of pages changed from the "Ink-and-Paper" version. Also, it's a damn good fake, having appropriate looking artwork and everything in a bound book. It really does seem like too much work for a hoax, though they could be relying on that for believability. Oh and it starts on page one.
