- Tiabin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11If you think that blogging is just about "talking about your life" then you're living in a cave. Wake up and smell the roses, man. All of the top media states that they go to blogs for the latest leads on stories. Blogging is information uncensored. It gives every person the ability to establish basically a magazine of sorts on their own niche of information,
- topdiggs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4check out some of the traffic some popular blogs out there get. Includes links with stats, referrals, etc.

- KhadBanks, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10Step 1: Hit yourself in the head with a brick until you think Blogging seems like a good idea.
Step 2: Continue to hit yourself in the head until you die. We Don't need more blogs. - humblepatience, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5how is that good info, he says what all the other how to blog says, in fact less than most, and all his tips could be summed up with "pick a subject and then register on blogger.com"
- ownedbytheman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+51. Develop a strong, self-important sense that people all over the world should know what you think.
2. Post it.
That will be $5000 dollars in consulting fees - nj10ii, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"HOW TO: Stop blogging" would be a better article.
- sandig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Tip: Don't use wordpress for high traffic sites. (I assume thats why it isn't working.)
- badnewsblair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Admittedly true. I have no problem with your assertion.
However, the above mentioned comment is of no value to any discussion pro or con going on here on digg. Maybe I am just "old school" but I'm a little sick of 14 year old, cynical prepubescent boys "contributing" worthless dribble because they are afforded anonymity by the Internet.
It's rude and it is lame.
(... and I am not a blogger. Been a member of digg since the beginning and just sick of the immaturity.) - kankerfist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I have no trouble with bloggers, because normally it is easy to ignore them. What I hate is when I get tricked into clicking a link to someone's blog, because I feel like I am supporting spammers. Like the spammers who link to their blogs instead of original articles, now I have to read comments or scan the link before I click on a news story.
- TheRepublic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Paul Stamatiou website. hmmm
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Stop! Don't give the people who haven't started any ideas!
- badnewsblair, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"Step 1, admit you have a problem if you think everybody wants to read the crap you have to post.
No DIGG, I hate bloggs. "Look at me! Look at me! I have an opinion! Read my opinion!"
Sigh..."
Says the person who just began his comment with his opinion. If you were a true believer in people should keep their comments/opinions to themselves, then you would have just moved on instead of spending the few seconds to post a comment about how comments are stupid.
Hypocrite.
PS. It is BLOG. Not BLOGG. - hodgesg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Just what me need, yet more blogs. *sighs*
- CaptainBryan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"aint no one wants"?
Wow.. Just wow... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Oh, yes. Because Digg isn't a blog in and of itself, in that its content is generally borrowed from elsewhere. How are blogs and Digg different as aggregators of news, excluding size and user-generated stories?
Man, you guys are idiots. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I find the anti-blog sentiment to be absurd considering that half of Digg wouldn't exist without blog submissions.
- cliffzdude, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Step 1, admit you have a problem if you think everybody wants to read the crap you have to post.
No DIGG, I hate bloggs. "Look at me! Look at me! I have an opinion! Read my opinion!"
Sigh... - HokieTT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You're right...the crap half of digg wouldn't exist. Which would be great.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4should be buried, along with all bloggers.
- HokieTT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Fair enough, bnb.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Great... just what we needed. More newbs crowding the blogosphere
- HokieTT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Boing Boing is a blog, yet we get tons of quality stories from them. Which is why Cory Doctorow has made a name for himself, while you're typing away in the Digg comment section from your parents' basement. Blog about that, Cheeto-breath."
Are you just blindly hitting keys like so many monkeys at so many typewriters? Maybe I need to spell this out:
If you happen for some reason to be reading *someone else's* blog and you find it interesting, then by all means, post it on digg. Maybe someone else will like it since you found value in it.
If you write your own blog, and then are so desperate for attention that you have to post YOUR OWN BLOG on digg, then you are pathetic. Bloggers in and of themselves, even though I still find most of them self-absorbed and attention hungry, are not the blight on digg. People posting their own blogs in some pathetic attempt to boost readership is what's the problem here. - HokieTT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Says the person who just began his comment with his opinion. If you were a true believer in people should keep their comments/opinions to themselves, then you would have just moved on instead of spending the few seconds to post a comment about how comments are stupid."
This is the simplistic type of tripe that I would expect from a blogger. There is a difference between reacting to a story on a site in which someone participates and creating a blog of your own and then advertising it for the world to see (like so many people do here on digg). Despising the latter does not mean one has to abandon the former. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6aint no one wants to read your *****.
- JoeCool1986, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Hmm, this is quite strange. I have a friend here at Georgia Tech that also goes by the name of Paul Stamatiou, same dude perchance? Anyone know? (The blog link is down so I can't check.)
Edit: I found a link to my friend's website on his facebook and golly gee, it is him. Cool. He's a cool kid. - HokieTT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yes, we're the idiots. We're the idiots because we can discern between a community submission site and someone using that site to promote their own stupid blogs. We're the idiots, not you. Okay.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.duggmirror.com/links/HOW_TO:_Start_Blogging/
- mercatfat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You realize that you're included in that blanket statement, correct?
- sixspeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Saw your blog and I can report:
1. You look like a tool.
2. Your girlfriend is a dog.
3. Ironically, your dog is cool.
Thanks for sharing. - HokieTT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Flamewar ho!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums."
Step 1. Make sure your blog can handle the load of a Digg submission. - TugsMcgroin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why differentiate spammers? They are all bad. I still contend digg users are wayyy cranky.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2yeah his original url got erroneously reported on digg, someone found his 2nd domain so this is how i could submit it
- HokieTT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow. I am sorry that you are incapable of expressing your thoughts adequately. I think if you reread my comments, you'd see that my argument has been consistent from the very beginning. You did provide some humor when you shared with me your belief that you deflated my argument, though. Good show!
- Cr0z, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's words like 'blogosphere' that make me die a little bit inside every time I hear them...
- wallosoup, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Anyone who thinks that blogs are stupid because they are just a place to state individual opinions should reconcider the purpose of all of their dumb comments. I'd rather see more stupid blogs about nothing (that I actually wouldn't see because I wouldn't read them), then stupid comments in an area that I, naively, thought was for academic debate.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Because blogs are *****, written by self obsessed pricks who then spam them on Digg
***** tossers.... - HokieTT, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Great, let's teach hundreds more fanbois how to verbally vomit their cheerleading for FireFox, Mac, etc!
Then they can submit their shiny new blogs as stories on digg, because we all care so much about what they think!
This is gonna be great! - rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i use comoblog: http://sourceforge.net/projects/comoblog it's pretty cool, you can email it to post.
blogs are good for keeping an online diary, updating your friends and family, and posting in your digg comments
www.rhettnye.org, i would say that this is on-topic, wouldn't you? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"a community submission site and someone using that site to promote their own stupid blogs"
Boing Boing is a blog, yet we get tons of quality stories from them. Which is why Cory Doctorow has made a name for himself, while you're typing away in the Digg comment section from your parents' basement. Blog about that, Cheeto-breath. - rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1How To: Armpit Farting
This is lame. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"People posting their own blogs in some pathetic attempt to boost readership is what's the problem here."
Of course they are, moron. That's why they never get dugg. That's not what the lion's share of people here are bitching about. It's blogs in general, and that's what is retarded. But, by all means, start changing your argument around now that I've completely deflated it. Hyuck. - julielacombe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeah, this is good content, What's the big deal about Paul Stamatiou?
- SyDIGG, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Yeah ... the internet needs more bloggers like Windows need more viruses and spywares.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1does a googlepage count as a blog? no one reads mine....so i guess it must be
- nuggetbro, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2this is amazing information , thanx alot.
