- radu79, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This makes phishing so much easier.. Especially because it works in pretty much all the browsers.
- mvprj84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2worked in Firefox 2
- wintermute0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They gave you cut-pasteable code right on the site...
- DanAtkinson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Contrary to what Railer has said, this does work with a fresh install of FF 1.5.0.2 .
Something similar to this was made by a friend and I a while ago for POC for phishing. We were able to bypass the timing problems. Unfortunately, we had the same problems with right click text thing in the status bar. I'd like to see a solution for this.
I agree that this could easily be misused for phising scams and it should be looked at very soon. - DanAtkinson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hence why 1.5.0.3 will be released shortly?!
On a fresh install of 1.5.0.2, this actually works.

- distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey, I remember doing this when I first got into webdesign.
You know, last century. - Corsix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is why I use Firefox NoScript addon
- wintermute0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Maybe you're right?
- cracell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Didn't work in Firefox 2 for me....which is a good thing...no need to worry about phishing here.
- ScoTTeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, doesnt work here either in Firefox 1.5.0.2. I dont see why anyone would bother with doing this though.
- Zoasterboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yes, but I still couldnt get it to work.
- TestFar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i doubt it, most web-based email accounts have javascript disabled for any messages.
- tecmec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you rtfa, it said that's a "problem" on every browser. Every browser shows it when you right click.
- djdole, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Old news. Reported so. Also lame.
- kcghost, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Digg, this is a cool web trick, interesting.
- tybris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1well this is boring...and trivial.
- drigz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1NoScript beat it...
- Unr3a1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Let me guess... use javascript?
- Cine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Worked fine in Safari. Pretty interesting, and I can see the use for it for affiliating and such. Doesn't Google use something similar to count what you click on in the seach results, too?
- BAS1X, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hell yea that's rad. Pretty easy now that I think of it... I can't believe no one else thought of this before.
- abold, on 05/01/2008, -0/+0tasdasd
- xilihwala, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yes
- Zoasterboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Couldnt get it to work...
- goodthing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder whether this has been put on the front page or not.
I cannot see this entry on the front page, but I cannot see it on queue area either.
How can this happen? - Railer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Works in IE, but not in FF 1.5.0.2
- thecwin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0For firefox (1.5 anyway)
Edit -> Preferences -> Content -> Advanced (next to Javascript check box) -> Enable or disable "Change status bar text"
That works in some cases.. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Doesen't work on Firefox 1.5.0.2
Shows how secure Firefox is as compared to IE.

- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0WTF is that *****. Using Firefox here and all links send me to the correct sites that are displayed in the status bar.
- MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0that's rad
