    We're still waiting for VHS-quality streaming. HD? Nope, especially when even this PR states the goal is 2.5 megabits per second. H.264 or not, 2.5 megabits is laughable.

    Look at this: At a minimum, a DVD averages 5 megabits per second, with a max of about 9. The minimal "HD" image size, 1280 x 720, contains 2.6 times as many pixels per frame. So they're talking about halving the data rate and carrying 2.6 times the pixels.

    H.264 may be more efficient, but come on. This bunk equates "resolution" with quality, when the compression artifacts are what make almost everything we watch today look like dog *****.
