- archlich, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Robots help =)
- ahill7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14These are pretty cool. Anyway to get higher resolution ones?
- iomegaboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14It still amazes me that men can build such things.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16Ya, but who builds the robots?
except for those robots that build other robots, I don't count those ones. - ogkent, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Actually, a quick google search came up with the originals from some of them:

There we go. That makes me happy. - vdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Then hit 'Bury', select 'OK, This is Lame', and move on. there's no need to post that here.
- ogkent, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12These are nice photos, but why aren't the photographer's names/sites mentioned anywhere? As a photographer myself, it peeves me when I see a blog copy a bunch of images and post them for ad revenue. I understand there's no way avoid that, but common courtesy would encourage bloggers to at least attribute where the image is coming from. Just a small favor, please.
- amfr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Just some other cool facts about the boeing factory:
1. The largest building in the world in terms of volume
2. The perimeter of the building is a couple miles - long enough for employees to take their exercise runs
3. The hanger opposite the building has the largest oors of any building in the world - pcghost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've never heard anyone call Everett Everett City. I could be wrong though, being here for a mere 32 years. The Boeing plant in Everett is one of our last great manufacturing facilities left after several stolen state elections and years of creating the single worst business environment this side of Russia. Microsoft would leave, if they hadn't already bought our state government. It is sad, because Washington is a kick *ss other that the business climate.
- mrKhoa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My mom works at Boeing. And so did my dad, when he was still around. He worked on the wings of 747s, if I can remember correctly. We used to live in Everett, but moved 10 minutes away to Bothell. Boeing has open house events sometimes, and employees can take their families inside. They bring a bunch of planes outside too so you can go up close.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Alot of them say (c) CNET Networks. Happy?
- konspence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I heard that it uses ~50 mW of electricity.
- dokbeast7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is a really awesome place. I took a tour once. The place is mind-blowingly huge.
- Scout, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Or maybe you should post some of them....
(If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.) - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1787 isn't being built yet. The parts haven't even arrived yet. I think the beginning of next month or something the parts begin to arrive.
- wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No seriously... that new car smell has a bunch of cancer-causing off gasses. I like the smell too, but just sayin...
- CyberAlan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It'd make a perfect wallpaper.
- mbmatt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4A Digg for my hometown of Everett! W00t!

- miamiandy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Looks quite nice. Looks rather similar to the Airbus facility in Toulouse. Wish they had pictures of the new Boeing 787. I've seen the A380 being built and it is gigantic. Also, the Airbus Beluga is a pretty cool plain. (It is rather appropriately named too.)

- Hollywood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1They only move the planes over the bridge at night. They don't want to cause any car crashes apparently....
- mbmatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Whoops... try this link for the bridge:

See the little bridge across the highway, to the south of the large factory building? They drive the planes across that bridge for painting. I've never seen it myself, but I guess it's quite a sight to behold if you are driving along and a 747 is crossing the road above you!

Paradise runs right under the runway. - pyrogyro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Living in Everett, my dad working at the plant, and being at the plant many times even for the 777 rollout when I was three years old I never get tired of how amazing the plant is. Great pics!
- crocodyl, on 02/08/2008, -0/+0Does anyone have copies of the photos? It looks like Google removed them because two different sites owned by google have gone off line. If you want to resubmit these photos try:
http://crocodyl.org/records - dmgks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They got it mostly right. Pictures 3, 4, 5 and 8 are of the 737, not the 747.
- sweepr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0So do you work there too? I will if I live there, definitely!
- NmsZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Fantastic photos

- whiteguysamurai, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Sound transit has always worked for both, i mean..I use it.
Also, maybe the unwashed heathen in the less fortunate states don't know.
But being a seattleite means your most likely work at neither, but being a washingtonian means you do.
The state is not called "Seattle". - Viva43, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4thats one bloody big production line
- boilerup, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0If you *can* manipulate/program these then shoot me an email/IM. I'm in HR for a defense company (can't mention specifics) that is looking for software engineers.

- Qwiggalo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Zzz low rez images of planes aren't internet worthy.
- alsp, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Things like this help a bit: http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Giant_Fan/
- mancat, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Going WAY off topic here, but as a "Seattleite" I look at these pictures and worry.
It's too bad that great Northwest industry leaders like Boeing and Microsoft are being increasingly pushed out of the region, due to Washington state's unwillingness to improve the transportation infrastructure. Employees can't get to work on time, freight supplies can't get in or out on time. Tax dollars slated for improvement of highways is squandered away or pocketed, and the state turns around and infuriates Boeing by asking them to pay for roads that should have already been paid for with taxpayer dollars.
We need to repair and redesign our highways for freight, and we need to build rail or implement other common sense mass transit solutions.that will get employees to work quickly, avoiding the hallmark traffic jams that fill the greater Seattle area from dawn to dusk.
Boeing already threw up their hands and moved corporate HQ to the middle of the country. It won't be long until these shots you're seeing of the Boeing factory have been taken from a location in Mumbai. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
