- celer1ty, on 06/04/2009, -0/+59Hypocrisy and politics seem to go hand in hand.
- inactive, on 06/04/2009, -0/+39Expecting the government to follow the same set of laws it imposes on the people.. now there's a novel idea.
- JMilton, on 06/04/2009, -2/+41We need more government warez and less government.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -2/+30Warez? What is this, 1995?

- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -1/+14This happens on almost any large network. It's not surprising that it happens on government networks too.
- bbeahm, on 06/05/2009, -3/+16I haven't heard the term warez in years. Nowadays its just bit torrent.
- 10goto10, on 06/05/2009, -9/+20I hacked into their backdoor by overriding their security powersupply, and I found this in an .NFO:

peace - Niubai, on 06/05/2009, -1/+11BRAZIL ***** YEAH, Eduardo Azeredo is an *****, he's always trying to get these ridicule laws without even know how the internets works. He just want to get attention or is a ***** tool. Even Lula watched a pirate copy of "Tropa de Elite".
- IKORKYI, on 06/05/2009, -1/+11at leat their senators have the ability to pull that off. i have a feeling most of the US senators couldn't even navigate to the harddrive
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+8When your government pirates, who will govern the pirates? Wait, that doesn't even make sense.
- Ikulus, on 06/05/2009, -1/+8Hah. I haven't seen the word warez in a long time.
- Blisshead, on 06/05/2009, -0/+7they would not know which tube to use.
- groberts1980, on 06/05/2009, -0/+690's explosion.
- darkism, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6Then I got my hands on something called CuteFTP
I was told that I could have what I wanted for free
Went on to some guy's FTP; 1:4 ratio
Upload my swapfile and download Super Mario - maeon3, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6The real problem here is that government is cracking down on freedoms and liberties about what can and can't be transmitted between peers. This is a violation of the Internet Bill of Rights.
I hope the creators of the next generation web are smart enough to program freedom right into it. They should program anonymity into every level so that no single interested group of humans are physically able to take control of what goes on between peers.
I was thinking about an open source currency where in order for the Federal reserve to print money to delude it they have to break 1024 bit encryption to create a new account, and that only allows them a finite money supply, in which they have to crack another key.
Good luck championing a system like that, you'll probably be labeled a terrorist by the federal reserve and taken to Guantanamo. Mafias do not like people encroaching on their system. - inactive, on 06/05/2009, -1/+7hypocrites
- betobonix, on 06/05/2009, -1/+6Strange, I could not find anything relatad to this event in the brazilian press
- se7en11, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4kinda brings back those days of having to download 50 zip files over a 56k modem
- KPolulak, on 06/05/2009, -1/+5Great idea. Fill up the prisons with people who are potentially harmless, leaving little to no room for people who actually are a danger to society.
Yet another case of the government trying to fix the symptoms rather than the cause... - getoffmybridge, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2Up for a little Doom 2 on Dwango?
- fabio1, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2you don't need to turn into internet vigilante here. Since digg is moderated by the public, these discussions will be buried by its audience. Yours too, probably.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2I use a site with "warez" as part of the name all the time..
Direct DL > Torrent - skipvt, on 06/05/2009, -5/+7Buried for no link to the senate internet site.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -1/+3H0tKarl smacks Ikulus around a bit with a large trout.
- SteveMax, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2I'm almost ashamed that my home state has been governed by him.
I'm not 100% ashamed because my state (and the country) have been governed by Itamar Franco. After that, even having a governor with the worst characteristics of Bush, Berlusconi and Hitler would sound that bad. - Beylan, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2Every place I've ever worked has tons of pirate software strewn about. The problem is managers who don't manage very well.
They assign someone a task that takes 2 weeks and only give the person 3 days to get it done or they don't get their raise or bonus or get laid off or whatever. There is some software out there that will let them get it done in the required 3 days, but the company doesn't have it. In order to actually buy the software 27 forms have to be filled out in triplicate and then signed off of buy every executive in the company, some are on vacation, some are playing golf, some just don't care. It takes months if not years to get approval to spend money.
The only way to actually complete the assigned tasks is to download what you need off of TPB and hope to eventually get approval to buy it before the next BSA audit. - getoffmybridge, on 06/05/2009, -1/+3They totally downloaded their warez from this sweet bbs after finding it with a wardialer they left running for 2 weeks.
- AngryAngryBrian, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2Only the government should have warez.
- animalchin99, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1anyone know any good gamez sitez?
- HeavyWave, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1So if it happens all the time everywhere doesn't it mean that it's a part of life rather than a criminal activity, eh?
- Professr, on 06/05/2009, -2/+3alguem do brasil?
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1speckenzee portuguez?
- Professr, on 06/06/2009, -0/+1I don't know portuguese, I live in America, and I'm something like 70% Irish. However, I have noticed a common phrase Brazilians like to say on the internets, so I posted it to Digg in an attempt to be funny. Silly me for forgetting about the Serious Brigade...
- socokoolaid, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1So lets all choose the "my network is not easy to monitor" defense!
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1I wonder what FOSI thinks of this.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1“A network with more than ten thousand users is not easy [to monitor],”
Really? How easy do you think the internet would be to monitor you brilliant *****? - inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1It is indeed...But I didn't know the government followed any laws whatsoever.
- HeavyWave, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1I think it's more than that it's a violation of common sense.
- acardozo, on 06/05/2009, -0/+0As a Brazilian, I´m not surprised. That´s the least harmful illegal thing that those ***** do anyway...
- Zaggynl, on 06/05/2009, -4/+4Juarez!
- ShiftyBizniss, on 06/05/2009, -1/+1Yeah well, government offices are workplaces just like any other. Give people open access to the web and they will abuse it.
- ByteMeAHole, on 06/05/2009, -1/+1I'm sure they will do what the Congress and Senate of the US does... Exempt itself from the laws they pass which are applied to everyone else.
- thescimitar, on 06/05/2009, -4/+3Oh, sorry, we must have missed seeing the "English Only" sign hanging on the FP.
- mparker21311, on 06/05/2009, -5/+4Do as I say, not as I do.
