http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/6743/43bb.jpg - Blaje, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Holy *****! And just wait about 5-6 years, games will almost be that good...
- dj88masterchief, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow! those are amazing!
- spudthepotato, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Truly amazing modeling work. Easily dugg.
- sburgz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Um, wow. Those are the best CG images ive ever seen. I cant even tell theyre fake.
- jguy584, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1gah sry about that,
here is the 4th pic
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/4990/16gg.jpg - karch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what? the site's still chuggin along
- artofwot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's pretty good, it's just NOT a lot better then what thousands of other amateur artists are doing.
- Hypersapien, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's pretty easy to do totally photorealistic still images. The problems start when you try to animate them, especially when you try to animate CGI people.
- SVPirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome indeed but I can tell they are CG. Something just looks a tiny bit flat asbout the lighting and some of the non-foreground objects lack complete detail. That much said I can't even do 3D so I'm not gonna pick too many holes :P
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0PC Girlfriend '09 is gonna rock your world
- green1152, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've seen better.
- Xenogis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Freaking awesome, those look more realistic than any computer generated picture I've seen before.
- scotty6969, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0those are sweet!, i give it a couple years and well be there
- kderby2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Some of these images are spectacular. The book sitting on the wooden table, especially.
- MrFisty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These are pretty good, but there's been a fair amount of comparable quality out there.
I sometimes wonder however if it'd just be easier to go and take a photo of some real bricks instead of rendering them.
Ah yes, I can just imagine future installments of KOTOR in that quality. Goodbye reality, hello social isolation. - TenLetters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I DIDN'T SEE NOT ONE COMPUTER IN ANY OF THOSE
SCENES!!! Joking- That's some Awsome OpenGL work
if ever there was any... - mc1123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you know, I'd love to bask in the glory of these cgi images, but they are at such a high res that ff can't load them up fast enough.
- pauldonnelly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These are pretty overrated. I'm not trying to knock the artist, but it's not like they're better than what many people are doing. And games? Some of those shots wouldn't look out of place in a modern game. In two to five years cutting edge games will look just like that.
- MikeF2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sick!
- Kielrandor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Take a look at PG3 for Xbox360 on 720iHD
Games ARE being made with graphixcs this good if not better! - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i agree with some others here.. great art, but nothing more than ive seen in the past.
thanks for sharing though (the grayscale one was the most realistic of them all) - turbomog007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that's some good cgi right there
- pigonthewing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i can't stand the excessive film grain used on images like #3. i can't concentrate on what's in the picture because it looks like someone scratched up the picture.
and #23, "there are no monsters," looks like it was done with colored pencil. i can't even tell where they would have used CGI in that image, and not in the good way. - techlinks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yay. Now you guys can get even more of a sadistic kick out of killing peope. Just like real life!
Why do people think graphics are so important? Would Super Mario Bros be any more fun iof it looked liek real life? I think not. - BESTenemy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 I wish games that look like this already were playable.
The more emphasis is put on graphics, the less effort ther tend to put into everything else. There are exceptions - the few games that have the whole gig going. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They're good, but not that good. Seriously, it's easy to tell they're fake.
Agreed NewEvolution. - Crizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Meh, I've seen better but they're still very good. Games will definitely look like this in the future. It's just a matter of time. Can't wait! :D
- apo831, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0impressive..
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is unbelieveable.

http://www.lovephases.com/cl/go.php/digg - fuzzycasserole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+03 is definitely the most impressive... it's the only reason i dugg it.
- h0dg3s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wish someday you learn speak engrish!
- shiftless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Okay, but the cities are a bit blocky, some textures are blurry and theres a lot of aliasing going on in these images.
- m85476585, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It will be a long time before games are like this. If they used something like POV-Ray to make these, each image can take hours depending on the amount of detail, resolution, computer, etc. And games need a lot of frames per second to look good.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, that 3 is pretty good. Very nice. I wonder how much of it was actually modelled (versus effective use of texture mapping).
- RoboPimp3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+03 is excellent, but all the surfaces are too even and clean. Great work though.
- peterthegreat4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i'd rather go for a game with some kind of gameplay value rather than just a pretty one.
- Nothlit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Gee, I love sites that automatically redirect to the Coral Cache without warning me. My college's content filter blocks it as a "public proxy" and probably logs the hit somewhere...
- retawd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Uh, Did anyone notice the Building on the right is, uh, sporting a woody? very bottom of the screen. It even says P P right above it. This _MUST_ have come from Disney. They always add that phallic stuff.
- bchang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0project gotham 3 already looks like the car pic.
- sewalsh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0they look totally CGI'd, pretty obvious - surprised no one cannot realize on first view, no digg.
- NewEvolution, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mediocre at best. CG is snazzy and all, but they still have that "perfect hyper-real" look to them. When someone devises an algorithm that creates realistic weathering for CG environments, then we'll talk. A CG room just doesn't look as real as a room real people and objects have interacted with for an extended period of time.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what truly realistic cg looks like: http://www.cgnetworks.com/gallerycrits/148983/148983_1110764412.jpg
- kamizu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ buddhistMonkey
Agreed. This is nice, although I've seen similar quality elsewhere. It's a shame that they put hours into rendering photo-realistic details but don't bother to give them what really makes them realistic: DOF. They could try rendering segments at a time, according to distance from the viewpoint, as to make 'layers' in Photoshop (or any similar program) and blur them accordingly so it would seem like there's a sense of focus (or lack thereof).
Thing is, one can't assume that a digital artist (always) has a sense of photography as well. - docxxvi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0intresting thread, but not really digg worthy article
- superdigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0very nice! dugg. and yes yes sure i'm sure this is regular fare for CG showcase sites, but it's really impressive.
- buddhistMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Call me a snob, but the first thing I noticed was that the skyscrapers on the other side of town are just as in-focus as the spacecar in the foreground. If the artist had simply added a touch of depth-of-field, this image would have been twice as believable. Nice modeling, and an otherwise worthy effort, though.
- WizzleFish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Those are AWESOME. So realistic...
