- bob3, on 05/30/2008, -0/+8This just in, I have received reports that it did not happen.
- superkendall, on 05/30/2008, -0/+7It's not coming with 2.0, and the reason is simple - patents. Love 'em or hate 'em, patents have been issued for multitouch on small devices and Apple has them. I think it's going to be very hard for Android to work around that, which I think is a shame.
- hexydes, on 05/30/2008, -0/+7Uhm, it's extremely open, which means it's limitations are pretty much dictated by the community of developers (which will likely equate to an infinite number of options available, most of it garbage, but once you sort through that, likely some very cool and innovative apps).
- skyshock1, on 05/30/2008, -1/+7Does nobody here read Engadget.com????
http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/28/google-demos-th ... - vuke69, on 05/30/2008, -0/+6Video or it didn't didn't happen.

- aceonline, on 05/30/2008, -1/+63G is the reason why I don't plan on getting an iPhone... yet
- robotsongs, on 05/30/2008, -1/+6wish I could put this on my treo...
- LoganT, on 05/30/2008, -1/+6Exchange support is coming to the iPhone in iPhone Software Update 2.0. So just wait till June 9th. And that's not a rumor either.
- RoccoMcTaco, on 05/30/2008, -0/+4The power is in it being open source. Take a hint from the winners of the ADC.
Wait until you see the countless tools at your disposal.
I think the guitar teaching tool is pretty impressive.
The possibilities are in the hands for anyone who wants to build an app for it, and for the most part free for those who can find it. - simonwright, on 05/30/2008, -2/+6No! I want my phone to dominate! I can't possibly be happy in the knowledge that I have the best product unless you believe it too.
- Trevordtodd, on 05/30/2008, -0/+4open source????
- nullity, on 05/30/2008, -1/+5Think iPhone, except that it runs on multiple phones, works with all service providers, and makes it easy for you to install 3rd party applications and customize to your heart's content.
- Spliced88, on 05/30/2008, -1/+5Yeah i always pay 2x the price for the same hardware just to make it feel like im getting good stuff
- iRelinquish, on 05/30/2008, -1/+4i dugg you down, because your comment is worthless.
- abigar, on 05/30/2008, -0/+3"Although Android supported the touch screen, there was no support yet for multitouch, which permits two-finger controls such as pinching to shrink a photo. However, Android could accommodate that technology if handset makers use multitouch-capable screens, said Andy Rubin, the Android project leader, in a press meeting after the speech. "

- MrFurious2k, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1For many corporate users, it's the integration with Outlook/Exchange that make a huge portion of their buying decision. Let's hope that there are applications that directly take advantage of "direct push" technology.
- jackdaniels06, on 05/30/2008, -2/+3I can hardly wait until all the new Android innovations start coming out. We have barely scratched the surface. There will be so much stuff coming out of the new Google Android platform we can't even imagine today, stuff we'll see down the pipeline and exclaim, "Why didn't I think of that?"
- HonoredMule, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1Do they have trackballs on them? I've not seen any like that, but cool if some do.
- brown705, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1Pacman? Come on, everyone knows Ms. Pacman spanked Pacman hands-down. Oh, I bet that choice of words will bring on some comments...

- Mohdoo, on 05/30/2008, -4/+5God damnit, this thing needs video. Great, reading about features and no way to see it -_-
- abigar, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1In fact it has accelerometer... and multi-touch can be implemented if a handset maker require it
- HonoredMule, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1Obvious response is already obvious.
- HonoredMule, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1A "trackball" on a phone would be awesome.
