- mattnyc99, on 06/11/2009, -0/+4it's from this old story from the 75th anniversary issue, which had a bunch of commissioned art: http://www.esquire.com/features/google-diaspora-10 ...
- parabola9, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3Mmmm, pierogies.
- dtjr74, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1You'll probably have to enter your weight and age in the future when you sign up for gmail, and they'll be able to figure that out!
- bbeep, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1I performed an experiment similar to this. I installed AdBlockPlus and now the ads I see are EXACTLY the type I want to see.
- Eisen4, on 06/11/2009, -0/+0Esquire commissioned a piece of art for that article?
- pingveno, on 06/11/2009, -1/+1Retain your current BMI in only one month!
- Strenoth, on 06/11/2009, -0/+0you know, I'm hoping some one in google is paying attention to that. Something exotic that I might be at least curious about is a lot more likely to get my attention than something mundane that I already have, or have already decided I don't need/want.
- pingveno, on 06/11/2009, -1/+0How about me not getting ads about magical weight loss techniques? I do a bike commute, I don't need no stinkin' weight loss!
- philliposophy, on 06/11/2009, -0/+0As for the art, does this seem like a lazy sculpture to anyone else? It seems like this piece would function the same as a 2d graphic. What do we gain by bringing it into 3d?
There may be reasoning behind it, but I don't get it. - jasondblack, on 06/11/2009, -2/+2I these neat kinds of experiments are what make some people really interesting to hear from. It is entertaining to read about one guy's experiments trying to get exotic ads from Gmail by emailing himself. This sounds like one of the "quirky" entries in the WSJ.
