Good Good, Really no Google is not evil. - clemsontiger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2a little more about this.

- Burritovision, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i'm not sure if you know that google is a CIA company
- sbovisjb1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It explains the "specialized" search engine for china that google made, in return they get to put their questionable material in a safe zone.
- cdgore, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Why is this being dugg down? Seriously, in China the copywrite laws much more lax than they are here, making it a prime place to build new experiments in media distribution.
- cookiemonster01, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2What a ignorant comment. I've lived in Canada and China countries for an equal amount of time in my life thus far. And things aren't as bad as people like you make it out to be. Let's put things in perspective here. If you think California is crowded, wait till you go to a chinese province. When a country has 5.3x or more the population of USA there are some rules that need to be set in place to prevent chaos .
- vanlandw, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1you better be careful what you ask for there "squarehalo" :-P
- ArcticXC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Right now p2p TV is really popular in China. Programs like TVUPlayer and SOPCast are largely dominated by Chinese users at the moment.
Lately there has been a decently-sized community of hockey fans that have been using TVUPlayer to stream games online, but it recently has been shut down out of fear of being sued. - falloutsyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1not p2p, g2p, http://www.g2p.org
- solohan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0hell yeah, that's sick.
Somebody needs to sue google. I love a mess. - kicman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0how does TVU different from Online TV site like http://www.afitv.com ? they have some 1000+ Media feeds, some pretty interesting and Weird video feeds
- digitally5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0PLEASE PAY ME $10 BEFORE YOU READ THIS COMMENT!!! :::: The Chinese still have to pay the monthly fees of high speed Internet access. Hundreds to thousands more for the computer they bought. It almost sounds like you are complaining over the fact that people are sharing and communicating with each other on P2P. I can't believe that everyone on this board isn't paying me $10 to read this comment I wrote here on digg.... Fact is, this is an open digital world for communication. For me to be the ***** and request that everyone should have paid me $10 before reading my comment is absurd. I can also imagine users downloading movies faster and creating a larger audience base for a movie because they didn't have to pay for a hard copy or pay to visit the excellence one gets in a movie theater. This also means that movie makers are going to have to move their little behinds faster if they want to make money from selling hard copies.
- fdd2k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Tried it and removed immediately.
Very sneaky, overall impression is to try to rip
off novice users who don't
know too much about system administrations:
(1) adding itself to automatic startup,
(2) using your system and bandwidth without telling you
what's going on, only network monitor shows busy
traffic, even though you are not downloading anything.
(3) there is no options to control its behavior.
(4) proprietary system with unknown security risk (running as
active control of IE).
My advice is to stay far away from it. - javabeta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Let me tell you what thunder is.It is a download accelerator like flashget initially, and folks like to get it into themselves' computer because it really accelerate the download speed. And It gradually become a default download tool for Chinese Netizen. Then they change the homepage of thunder to a net source search engine where you can find free movies, songs, softwares and all the free sources. Can you image that thunder users can download high definition edition of mission impossible III without pay 1 cent just three month after it debuted in US?
- javabeta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Let me tell you what thunder really is.It just a download accelerator initially, for its excellent capability, most of Netizen in China set it as a default download tool. And more the 750 millions computers in China has installed it.
Generally speaking, the Thunder just collect and index the resource and when you download something form link, the Thunder will not just get the resource from this download address but also find more links which provide the same resource. In this way, you can download the resource quickly.
Besides, In the Thunder's homepage, you can search all kinds of resource for free download, such as MP3,MOVIES,SOFT WARES...what you need to do is just key in the keyword and press Enter. Then you'll see lots of download links.
e.g.if you like the Linkin Park' new album sales on the website, you can pay the money to buy it or you can search it on the Thunder's homepage and download it free. All kinds of software you must pay to buy it you might find and download it without pay....
Thunder's homepage http://www.xunlei.com/
you can try to search the "Chasing Cars" it'll show you the links to download :) - digitally5, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0So I guess what you are telling everyone here is that censorship depends on the amount of people being censored. People like me, are just saying the truth and you claim that as ignorance? I believe ignorance is what you want people to live in because you think that will keep people safe. I think if anyone has made an ignorant comment here, it surely wasn't i. You want perspective? 5 guys all stuck in a phonebooth. 10 times more crowded than the people in China. One guy lays a fart. I personally would like to know the truth about the ***** that laid the fart, because the guy on top of me is *****' dead!
- KSFKAY - xonecas, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0rumors... a source... maybe...
- digitally5, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Will I be able to get information on Tienanmen Square and Tibet on Chinese P2P from the government who controls information there? Unless the idea of digital information is as free as oxygen or water, putting advertisements would be considered as profitting from illegal activity.
-KSFKAY - squarehalo, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2/me pull down pants, bends over
