- zeptobyte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9How long till I can just type my name on Google and have it return everything noteworthy I've done, in clean and well-organized resume format?
- zaren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Simply Hired? Blech.
I've had a LOT of experience with a LOT of job boards over the years, and Simply Hired has consistently given me the worst results of any of them. More times than not, Simply Hired would give me a link to a "new posting" that had actually expired over a year ago, or was completely unrelated to my search terms. - guchdog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Must not be finalized, the rankings of "Job Search Engine" on google doesn't obviously show the correct ranking yet.

That's just ***** lovely, I think I'll stick with vast or indeed. - sfdude00, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Naah... Google is smart they wouldn't touch Microsoft with a 12 ft pole...
- skyer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4It would replace the current Google Jobs
http://www.google.com/jobs/ - zaren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You know, they *do* provide the ability to set up searches that will do the heavy lifting for you...
- betobeto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you can't beat'em, buy'em...
- xlocust, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hope this works out cause it ***** sucks to have to shift though monster and careerbuilder looking for jobs.
- ionut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google already has job search:
http://www.google.com/search?q=jobs&gl=us
http://www.google.com/base/s2?q=&hl=en&gl=us&sa=X&oi=gb_refinement&ct=title&a_n0=jobs&a_y0=9&a_o0=0&a_n1=Location&a_y1=6&a_n2=Job+function&a_y2=1 - Ratking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Meaning that they will just take the best and brightest, not recruit them. You might end up working for Google and not even know it...
In a perfect world, we'd all be working for Google.
http://www.google.com/jobs/ratking . It's still a 404... - xmod3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"...Trip Chowdry..."
never heard of an Indian guy with the first name of Trip before. - doesnotexist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why would google buy Simply Hired, when Indeed ( http://indeed.com ) is an obviously better job search engine.
- redrover, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If they continue at this rate, the headlines a few years from now are going to read "Google in Talks to Buy New Zealand"
- sideral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@flag: Simply because there will be always a good guy and a bad guy, Google happened to be good, while Microsoft is the bad one. For me, it is not good that google buys yet another company (alas, I can use SimpleHired if I want to, don't need google to buy them to make them good!). Yes, I don't like Google, and I don't like Microsoft neither. Big companies have such a great influence that I can't consider them good at all.
- ernieoporto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Badges? You mean like LinkedIn already has?

- k3vinmartian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@skyer:
www.google.com/jobs is just for available jobs at google, simply hired is a search engine for jobs around the country for any company. I doubt it will replace the google.com/jobs sub domain. More likely it will be acquired and integrated with the google search engine but the site domain will still remain registered as simplyhired.com. When google bought youtube they didn't move the site or really tamper with youtube's existing structure. Simply Hired, if actually acquired, will probably to the same. - Antharasuk, on 05/04/2009, -0/+0Why wouldn't Google just buy my job search engine (www.jobhits.co.uk), will be better than all other job search engines very soon...
- KevinInAustin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why not use Indeed.com instead? Indeed is much better than using Simply Hired or searching job boards individually.
.. and they have Canadian jobs at http://canada.indeed.com/ - WiHire, on 04/24/2009, -0/+0An awesome new resource for finding jobs or hiring someone is a new online community, www.WiHire.com. WiHire is a free online community that helps people find and fill jobs by allowing users to broadcast their job information to their online networks. It is a known fact that most jobs are found and filled through personal networks, but still people continue to hunt for jobs on job boards that grow more impacted each day. WiHire helps users easily leverage existing networks like Facebook, Linked In, Twitter, MySpace, Gmail, and Blogger to help get a job or fill an open position. This service promotes community involvement to help users and their friends find the right job or hire the right employee.
The founders said, "We wanted to do our part to help improve the economic situation so we are providing this pro-bono service to the public. WiHire is our gift to everyone that is struggling in these tough economic times."
Check it out at www.wihire.com - VolFanCt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Indeed.com is by far the better search engine. I am amazed that anyone even goes to Simply Hired.
- sickswaystop, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2i think this is a great idea. if google offered job openings as well as they do search results then i'd probably find a decent job.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Its becuase Google are cool. And they do what you ask them to quickly and efficiently. Unlike some people . . . . ."
Like what exactly? - flag564, on 10/12/2007, -8/+7So why is it ok for Google to buy a company, and brand it under its name?
When Microsoft does it, people go ballistic and vow newer to use the service ever again. - HyperJack, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Im not sure. But until it happens, your gonna have to keep searching your memory and writing your own resume you lazy git !

/You may bury me, but at least I've got chicken. - FearMEiDEA, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Won't be long before Google 'aquires' Microsoft. ;)
