- hipsterelitist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this is pretty absurd. google should not be worth more than coca-cola right now. blah blah bubble bubble.

I think he put "goog" to represent Google's ticker symbol which is, of course, GOOG.
Still stupid. - covaro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is just absurd, considering the actualy amount of Gross revenue that Google currently brings in there is absolutely zero fiscal sense in how the hell the company should be worth as much as it is. Of course, wouldn't have stopped me from buying a bunch of shares when it came out if I had the money for a quick flip... I mean who would have ever thought $379.15 a share for a .com post 2000.

I believe that's the new name for Phillip Morris, since they had a lot of flak attributed to their name, they changed it. They're pretty damned huge, IIRC. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I've never heard of Altria."
Ever heard Philip Morris? It is actually Altria you pay, when buy a Marlboro pack. - nihilator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google stock is overpriced. Everyone should know that. And market cap does not absolutely define how healthy a company is, nor where it will be next year. Anyone remember Amazon stock in 1999?

If you smoke, you should be familiar with Altria.... - Arthere, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1Chase is the only bank up there. I would have thought banks would be worth more.

- unclejesse0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google is an evil empire.
- spadin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nothing like smoking a Malboro Light at a bar while drinking a Miller Light and eating some Planters peanuts.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You are bitter over leaving Yahoo. You bought shares to try and make up for your bitterness. You realised you didn't really wanna leave Yahoo, so you post this up to justify it in your own mind. Weather you were a former employee of Yahoo or not has no relation to what you're writing about, accept from the context that you hold some sort of personal grudge against Yahoo! Inc. People like you who hold grudges against corporations should be thought of as "high risk" to corporate security and your comments should be monitored by cyber security intelligence services and the folks at Yahoo Inc security teams. Have a nice day arse hole.
- jcs_goog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google is only trading at about 45X forward earnings and this valuation is fair given Google's projected grwoth rates. Yahoo is actually trading at 50X forward earnings and isn't expected to grow as much. Thus, Google is cheap compared to Yahoo.

big damn company. - jackusage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0doing only half as good as Google is still pretty damn good. My hat's off to Yahoo, their programmers are organized and not as lazy.
- jamelt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0is GOOGLE overpriced?, or should I buy MORE!
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've never heard of Altria.
- Metal_Hurlant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Altria is in many other businesses beside lung cancers.
For example, whenever you buy a food thing labeled "kraft", you're giving money to Altria.
I'm sure you could dig up a list of brands they own easily. - kyledroid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Google is god now. Worship it now all ye non-believers or suffer the wrath of GOOGLE.

- treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow, Google worth more than Coca-Cola and McDonalds.
