- Ocelot13, on 07/01/2008, -0/+38this is like the time when....
- adbaker, on 07/01/2008, -6/+44Giggity giggity goo. Alright.
- JasonCox, on 07/01/2008, -2/+36Does this mean Google will stop deleting all the Family Guy clips off of YouTube?
- Ragzouken, on 07/01/2008, -0/+27Nobody watches family guy for the main plot or moral messages.
- KipEvil, on 07/01/2008, -7/+31I hate shows that cut away from the main plot.
So anyone seen Hitler juggle while riding a unicycle?!? - tucsonsun13, on 07/01/2008, -2/+21It seems like Google is slowly taking over the world.
- WELLDOITLIVE, on 07/01/2008, -5/+19Get to cookin.
- Takfam, on 07/01/2008, -0/+12I'll watch the ads as soon as they stop playing sound. If I wanted my speakers hijacked to play crap, I'd flip through the profiles on Myspace.
- TheRealM3D, on 07/01/2008, -0/+12I, for one, welcome our new Google Overlords.
- EricaBZ, on 07/01/2008, -4/+15Cool! I'm not a young man, but I love this show :) Looks like an innovative way for garnering a fan base.
- evilesttoast, on 07/01/2008, -2/+11He is a date raping sleaze!
- WELLDOITLIVE, on 07/01/2008, -2/+11Everything.
- laughandsing, on 07/01/2008, -2/+9He isnt the one I would worry about... Its the old man! lol
- jessenoob, on 07/01/2008, -0/+7This is blasphemy.... This is madness!
- boomerang42, on 07/01/2008, -1/+7***** yeah, Adblock Plus!
- bmson, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6I'm talking about the show, not the advertisements.
Biggest advertisers are universal.
Ford, Honda, GoDaddy, Microsoft, Apple, Virgin, American airlines etc. - gopmesiah, on 07/01/2008, -1/+7dear diary, jackpot!
- mobbo, on 07/01/2008, -2/+7It's so cool to hate things a lot of people like just for the sake of hating things a lot of people like.
- snapcase, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5***** the ads. I don't visit a website to be mentally molested by flash based popunder ads that keep you from reading the damned sites content or to hear the damned audio of some annoying as hell ad that tries to get me to win a free PC.
You visit a website for content. Adblock lets me use the internet for the purpose I intend to use it rather than being spammed with adverts. - tedrock, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5could always add the url for it to your whitelist
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4You have to click to watch. It sounds just like embedded youtube clips, probably expanding out of a thumbnail.
- vgtek, on 07/01/2008, -2/+5who's that asian man next to seth?
/sarcasm - jls33fsls, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Why are you digging him down? He is right, websites aren't cheap to run. Believe it or not, most sites that aren't crap don't have annoying flashing ads, etc like you are complaining about. Stop stealing money from the hard working webmasters. I refuse to use adblock and gladly allow banner ads to be displayed.
- tcpip4lyfe, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Always has been. Always will be.
- scabbers, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2A lot of people like lots of ***** things. I hate on it because it is *****.
- inactive, on 07/01/2008, -3/+5Really creative deal, when you think about it. It's really hard -- and expensive -- to reach the Family Guy audience. That's why Adult Swim does so well.
- jakerudy7, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2im glad its not family guy cause its getting old
hopefully this new program will be just as hilarious though - Greg2k, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2It's so easy to say go to Hulu when more than 50% of the internet can't watch it because it's US-only. Youtube, on the other hand, involves no region blocking.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/01/2008, -2/+4"Instead of placing a static ad on a Web page, Google will place a “Cavalcade” video clip."
I admit I am very excited about this, but... think of the flip-side of it.
They're replacing the AdSense ad's with a video.. So, whats next?
Replacing the AdSense ad with a video commercial? - Greg2k, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2"How old are you?"
"Sixteen"
"Eighteen? Alright" - rakous, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2I'll watch the ads as soon as they blinking uncontrollably and give me seizures.
Wait that is a lie, I'd probably still pirate. - Greg2k, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2I actually LIKE knowing I won a free iPhone thank you very much!
- madhatter349, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2I really don't mind the 2-3 second brought to you by ____ ad, but I do hate the pop up banners on the bottom of the videos .
- Baryn, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2I lol'd!
- Yage2006, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2Perhaps google is trying to find ways to get people to stop using adblock ?
- m00nmaster, on 07/01/2008, -0/+2Slowly?
- techblogLAT, on 07/01/2008, -3/+5So does that mean we have to turn Adblock off to find the show?
- sherbertbones, on 07/01/2008, -3/+5Simpsons>Family Guy, sorry had to state the obvious
- picpak, on 07/01/2008, -2/+4Now instead of having his cartoons on your TV 20 times a day, you can load them UNWILLINGLY IN YOUR BROWSER!
...I picked the wrong decade to grow up in. - PhoenixAvatar2, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1I'm sure there would be a home site that hosts them all, they'd be stupid not to.
- apexified, on 07/05/2008, -0/+1Reformat and lose years worth of data... what kind of hardcore websites are you visiting? That's some dangerous territory you're traipsing around in, I suggest you get something besides adblock for security. Also there are a couple OS's out there that are little more impervious to malware, so you might want to upgrade from Windows ME.
- parallax7d, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1There is no accounting for taste. Or is that saying too high brow for a family guy fan?
How about "some like boobies, some like dongs" is that something you can understand? - theword12, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1"animated versions of the one-frame cartoons you might see in The New Yorker, only edgier."
This is supposed to make me want to watch them? - Konrad9, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Wow I typed that good. (intended... this time)
- twiztidsinz, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1Then wouldn't that also be a 'static ad'?
The article says that they are replacing static ad's with a video clip.
Even if the clip is 8 (just a number between 5 and 10) seconds, that's long enough for a commercial to be placed there. - DejectedRobot, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Video ads suck, especially ads about a terrible show.
- jp44, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1Do the manatees know about this deal?
- snapcase, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1"I refuse to use adblock and gladly allow banner ads to be displayed."
Guess you don't mind that some banner ads try to install malware on your computer either huh?
Unfortunately far too many advertisers are unscrupulous and will run such scripts without the knowledge of the owner of the site the ad is displayed on. Out of self defense from getting ***** that will eventually force me to reformat and lose years worth of date, I gladly use Adblock. -
