- Fhwqhgads, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Their attempt to extort money from Google has failed.
- spukeesan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11...and direct links the the original source, I might add... I see nothing but fair use here
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11What? and block of half the Internet? BLASPHEMY!
- trogdor282, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Now that the legal precedent is set, Google should go ahead and delist them, watch their traffic slowly evaporate, and laugh maniacally.
- lorductape, on 10/11/2007, -6/+13pics or it didnt happen
oh man now i feel dirty.... - haydesigner, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I was thinking of posting a comment saying the same thing.
But then I realized that it still wouldn't be funny, so I didn't. - mykos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Why don't they just block google from accessing their site? They could have saved so much money on lawyers.
- PeakAction, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6The porn fountain is a great thing. Nevertheless, I do not recommend drinking from it.
- boozedrinker, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I really can't see why they would sue in the first place. Many people use Google for that reason and, in turn, generate traffic for that site. Isn't that kinda like biting the hand that feeds? Afterall, although not images, there is a reason people pay good money to have their results show up in the first few search results......TO GENERATE TRAFFIC!
I think if someone finds something like that through google images, they should be thanking google for the traffic, not suing them. I hate frivolous lawsuits. - greywren, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Not quite - google may still be liable for contributory infringement according to the ruling, even though google images is fair use. The whole thing was sent back to lower court.

- Sfmobius, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I'm w/boozedrinker on this one. You sue the engine (well one of them anyway) that helps bring business your way? Does the RIAA own Perfect 10?
- agimat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2"I really can't see why they would sue in the first place."
I'm sure easy millions have nothing to do with it. - Gizza, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@r00tus3r (#6741339)
Seriously though, if you run a business that primarily makes money online, the one company you REALLY don't wanna piss off is Google. They basically have the power to bankrupt online businesses. - inactive, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1The Roman Catholics still have major problems through out the world and i still think that alot of problem are never report http://www.allnetseek.com and never get out into the public domain and may even be settled out of court.

- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1This subject will alway be a major topic of conversation and as far as i can see as long as this does not involve child and is with consenting adults it is not a major issue http://www.wifephotosharing.info times are changing and one of the biggest problems in this area is from the various church group from around the world like the Roman Catholics.
- break99, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1the "robots.txt" technology is far too complicated...
- break99, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1For the one person who didn't see that "the internet is for porn":
http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=5430343841227974645 - coldphoenix, on 10/11/2007, -10/+8Small pics? As in incredibly low resolution? Why shouldn't they be able to?
- masterthiefster, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1The difference is that, unless the site has a referrer check, Google Image Search allows you to bypass the site completely and just go straight to the images, which means you don't see banner ads and whatever other methods of income the pages might contain. This doesn't always work (in some cases Google's thumbnail links in turn to a thumbnail) but it's generally a very efficient way to find images, porn or otherwise.
- Dhalgren, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3And curious 13 year olds across the world rejoice...
- llagerlof, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0Pornographic images is a minor problem. The real ones is the anti-racial, preconception, agressive and violent content.
