- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I like how Google is spreading into other areas instead of staying in their search box.
With more competition, we're bound to recieve something better. - Schrade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I just wonder why Google or YouTube can't get it right with video hosting.
Google's player rocks and has the best controls. Unfortunately the codec they're using sucks.
YouTube's player sucks and has horrible controls. No volume control is a major negative. But the codec they're using is better than Google's.
Why can't either of them get it right? - seaner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7They better put a copy on their servers so that our bandwidth bills don't go out of control when we publish good videos.
- iluvatar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I definitely like the sound of YouTube integration
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Good, I've always had to go to Yahoo for a true web video search. Finally Google catches up.
- kwazyJAS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Here is a screen shot of the expanded video search:
http://img85.imageshack.us/my.php?image=googlevideoexpand8ci3jn.png - iluvatar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4In this case I think they're staying well within their search box... only with video.
I only wish they'd bring the image search up to their web and video search standards - stubbyperson77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Ya I was about to say. and yes it would be sweet to have dem and YouTube in one place
- jacko7, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Google = King
- sourbrew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4You can have them in one place, and they are ranked by users. In what is one of the most functional if clearly imitative applications of Digg I have seen.
http://videosift.com - leahcim, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Hopefully they expand their own videos to not look like ass.
- hudef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google vid has never been available in China. I'm just curious if it is available in India and other non-western countries.
- JOJOFACE, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2AltaVista has had this for YEARS.
- terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Google = catching up to alltheweb.com in this case.
- Videosurfer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Singingfish.com (recently purchased by AOL) does a reasonable job of video search as well as BlinkX. Google is woefully behind. Also, I think Google Videos really suck...the image is too large so it gets too "fuzzy".
YouTube will not be in business unless they change their model. They will not be able to sustain violating copyright. My two cents... - sroerick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this is why yahoo video sucks -- all the videos are bad links.
- NDure, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yahoo Videos too...But it's all good, Google always adds more value to an already avaliable service.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I highly doubt that will happen.
They don't copy images onto their server when doing an image search...In fact they display the entire page, which sucks more bandwidth. - sithmat, on 10/12/2007, -18/+3Future Newsflash: Google Video Still Sucks
The site design makes craigslist look like the Mona Lisa. They should just stick to search and organization.

What is Digg?
