- IamZed, on 06/02/2009, -7/+37I’m gonna create a search engine called Bong. By the time you find what you’re looking for, you’ve forgotten what you were looking for.
- jeremymccurdy, on 06/02/2009, -0/+9Doesn't give any new information, only gives a poorly written and formatted article. Buried.
- bmcnally, on 06/02/2009, -2/+9In America, we build spacecraft that land men on the Moon, and returns them home.
In America, we build rovers that not only land safely on Mars, but continue to operate long after we thought they would fail.
In America, we construct a Constitution that not only limits the powers of government, but has seen through over 40 orderly successions of power between opposing parties.
In America, we create industries based around companies with funny names. Like Google, Microsoft, and Apple. Like IBM. Like Ford and General Motors. These industries last for decades, in some cases they last for over a century.
In America, we export ideas and import immigrants. People who beg for an American education and/or an American job.
We're not perfect, and we've certainly fallen down before, but we get up, brush ourselves off, and keep going. It's the American way. - nepidae, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6you've never actually been to another country, have you?
- shujin, on 06/02/2009, -2/+7Bing is cool, but Wave is truly groundbreaking
- one1plus1one, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4PS:
Since they are both clothing companies, bingbingbong.com could get sued by billabong.com, but neither bingbingbong.com nor billabong.com could sue bing.com given that bing.com doesn't sell clothing -- or do they?
If bing.com charges advertising clicks related to bingbingbong.com and billabong.com competitive clothing, then bingbingbong.com and billabong.com could make the case that users were decieved when utilizing bing.com, thinking they had landed at bingbingbong.com or billabong.com.
This could turn into a serious legal issue of bings and bongs, for Microsoft, yet again. - inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4Here is a tip for you, cubicledrone...sometimes, when you go all out to blast the US in everything possible (simply because your life sucks and you do't want to accept the blame for it) you just prove to the world how clueless you are.
- rft3rd, on 06/02/2009, -1/+4Why am i being dugg down? I make a serious comment on the content of the video and because i dont say something stupid like fap fap fap droooool i get dugg down lol
- FlyinRyan89, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2Do It.
- 2of8, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2It's a very detailed comparison. What's wrong with it?
- rft3rd, on 06/02/2009, -5/+7Wow. Now that is a nice take on threaded conversations. I for one cannot wait for this to go open beta.
- SoundJudgment, on 06/02/2009, -1/+3I hear ya! Go, Google! Ride the ~~~Wave!~~~
- insomniacal, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2I can't hear the name Bing without thinking of this guy:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-BH0RfUWDMg/R6NSVYaNJlI/ ... - wastern, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2Why do they keep putting these in the same article. Sure, they were announced near the same time, but they are nothing alike or related at all. Stop talking about them together
- swimtwobirds, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2well to be fair, you have names like - data packets (a bit of brit there), cisco, firefox, microsoft and apple. that should keep you going for a while. televisions haven't been treating the japanese, or even the taiwanese, too well for a while. All is essentially well for yank town i reckon, but still: actually figure out fusion and you might well get yourselves a wee statue in every single standing capital. go on - burn them brains.
- insomniacal, on 06/02/2009, -1/+3I suppose Ned Ryerson is a PC.
- swimtwobirds, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2no, that counts, with millions of caveats i realise but; its a word processor and its free.
- tonmil, on 06/02/2009, -2/+3Automatic categorization of results is wonderful. I love how Yahoo Mail does this. I think I'll try Bing.
- Nouman6, on 06/02/2009, -7/+8Two completely separate topics in one blog post? Write more about one, don't stick two mini paragraphs and call it an article.
- nepidae, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2i'm willing to give bing a try, but i'm still not sure what google wave is /shrug.
- Crewbie4life, on 07/07/2009, -0/+1hahaha excellent English. Great use of the 'u' in humor.
- tomlonar, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1Microsoft and Google in title = half way to frontpage
- akshay626, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1icksnay on the general otorsmay
- JohnSCothill, on 09/30/2009, -0/+1Get your Google Wave from eBay! http://digg.com/business_finance/Get_Your_Google_W ... :-D
- Natendo64, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1oh i get it now we don't get massive chains of RE: or FW:
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1I realize your comment is just something to write before your SPAM, and that your account will be deleted soon, but please...name ONE thing that Google gives you for free that Microsoft charges for. (And Office does not count since Google's online apps does not compare.)
- bishopxi, on 07/02/2009, -0/+0I don't get it, his one pro fro bing is that it categorizes the internal links under the search option. Yet google has done that for years. The only revolutionary thing about bing is that its not revolutionary.
- FutureGuy, on 06/02/2009, -3/+3This article is very low of details, wonder how it made it to the front page.
I have been a life long Google user, but found Bing surprisingly impressive
Check this out for a feature comparison
http://www.pcworld.com/article/165749/bing_vs_goog ... - gfxlonghorn, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1Here is what I don't understand, Google has been doing that site subsection break up for a while a now and it hasn't even been a big deal. Granted they usually only do it for larger sites, it still isn't some great innovation.
The one thing I do want from Google is better space utilization. Half of my window is completely blank, why not add stuff like wolfram alpha does. I don't expect it to be as smart as Wolfram Alpha, but if I ask for the weather, it can pull up more than just a small 5 day forecast. - iH8Liberals, on 06/02/2009, -2/+2who the ***** is digging this piece of ***** blog post? For the unintended humor, I can only hope...
- monkeyrun, on 06/02/2009, -2/+2I am impressed with Bing so far. It has a level of "integration" that's not available on Google, but I am already used to google.
- gpalt, on 06/03/2009, -0/+0Hahaha... excellent idea! Great sense of humour!
- mahendrakumar, on 06/02/2009, -0/+0Can I use Google wave in my HTC touch?
- fuxxx, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1Bing bing
- one1plus1one, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1That gives me an idea... I'm going to quickly register bingblingbong.com
Might prove useful in some horrific future, when weird-@ss named search engines (retro 1999 style) really take off.
Wait... someone already has something close to that:
bingbingbong.com/
Looks like a clothing company... I think. - gordigor, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1It's a continent.
- clickwir, on 06/02/2009, -2/+2Do not want!
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -1/+0definitely does NOT count. It would be like trying to comapre someone patting you on the back for free versus a professional masseuse giving you a deep tissue massage.
- FlyinRyan89, on 06/02/2009, -3/+1The concept behind google wave is pretty much the same thing thats going on here: http://www.omgpop.com
- cubicledrone, on 06/02/2009, -5/+0In America, we invent stupid names and logos. In other countries, they build things like furniture and televisions. See if you can guess which country is face down in *****?
- ogleby, on 06/02/2009, -7/+1The video gave me a subliminal message that bing causes diabetes.
- esquire360, on 06/02/2009, -7/+1Don't make wave if you can't surf!
- bringitontimx, on 06/02/2009, -8/+2There was a Wave-related posting about an hour ago.
- one1plus1one, on 06/02/2009, -7/+1Bing has been running really slow today for me. (Not sure if anyone else was experiencing the painful slowness?)
I suspect pro-Linux anti-Microsoft users turned the Conficker worm against Bing, and launched DOS attacks. -
