- DontSayFanboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah cities that do cool things are lame.
- megastever, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6That's at least the second time in the past 2 days I've seen you promote your own article in the comments r2d7. Get over yourself.
- DaMacGamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is crazy! i live in Mountain View California!
i wonder if eventually this will go nation wide... - arunforce, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7One word. Idiot.
- roberto_deneero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I live in Mtn View too...Kapp's never looks like it's open hence the fact that I've never bothered to go in there. They need to liven that place up to compete with the rest of Castro St. Molly's rocks! Anyhoo, hopefully this comes through so I can dump Comcast's overpriced service. Flippin sweet!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Dude it's happening where you live, wtf do you care if it's nationwide lol.
- JSolo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google wifi is available in very few places in Mountain View. The only place I've seen it there is at Kapp's on Castro Street, but I've heard there are more.

- boolean4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Word on the street is the only other place is Airborne Gymnastics in Santa Clara, CA

- cfjedi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My thought here is google wants to start a wi-fi so they can monitor people's surfing habits allowing them to further their search engine efforts. They already have quite a column of tools that allow them to get information about you, browser plugins, gmail, desktop search, etc etc etc... why not go all the way and start an ISP. I heard before AOL did this for years, which allowed them to add features to their software before a user even knew they wanted it. Not sure just my initial thoughts? OH and the speculation of offering google adwords to users of the wifi service.
- roberto_deneero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Who cares if he linked to his own article. If you wrote an article, you'd want people to read it too. Get over yourselves.
- djg38, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2OMG, linking his own article. Burn him!
The real problem with that one is that there aren't 30 things in the article linked. - digdugsmug, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Great, more to add to the smug problem out there..."Um...we have a city wide wireless network...were just a bit ahead of the curve here..."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -18/+3Given Google's almost spotless record of not finishing what they start, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this.
