- sahala, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13and here's the official blog post:
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2007/02/discover-your-links.html - invader, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Cool!
But, I just discovered that Digg accounts for 92.2% of my total inbound links (not spam.. just a couple digg tools)... Kind of depressing, actually.
It's like I need to "get out" more.. but instead of that meaning "outside" it means "to /other/ web sites"...... :-( - webtickle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Sahala, thanks for the link to the official blog post. I was looking for it when the search engine land post went up, but it seems they broke the news before Google did.
- madk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ha someone has a small penis.
- eurokc98, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This will allow you to check your own sites linking while still limiting what your competitors can see. Good if you don't want people seeing your links through G though there are many ways around that with others. Linkdomain: works pretty good in Yahoo.
Thanks for the heads up. - topfan, on 12/26/2008, -0/+1great post on online auctions
- JimMessenger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Excellent find!
- Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its still not as useful as it used to be when they were reporting links via the link: search though. You're not going to be able to use this for competitive analysis.
- vanderwijk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Google has temporarily disabled the new link reporting tool to fix a bug that made it possible to see incoming links for sites that do not belong to you: http://blog.outer-court.com/archive/2007-02-06-n21.html
- aguynamedben, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like traffic acquisition and reporting will become less focused on Google as a single entity, since Google is becoming more transparent by turning this data over to site owners. Powerful.
- madk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just logged in myself to check this out and I don't have a links tab either. Maybe a temp. outage?
- shimrit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I guess it's a step up. Everyone used to use Yahoo for the linkdomain command, but since they've started listing adword URLs, that has become rather useless too.
- whogotthegravy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice. For a while, I was worried that Google wasn't properly indexing my website.
- factblogger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome makes backlink reporting much more accurate.
- adaml, on 01/23/2009, -0/+0Amazingly, Yahoo's new Site Explorer shows hundreds of "inlinks" (their term for backlinks) that a Google link: query doesn't show. For example, my site http://pagerush.com only shows up 4 backlinks in Google but shows 264 inlinks. Granted, there is a lot of duplication, but Yahoo seems to be a pretty comprehensive list.
- fione, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, a detailed explanation and lots of sharing of your real life examples too.
- AngryGlock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I was just looking at one of my reports when I started getting a 404 error and then the new "links" tab went away. Has Google shut it down?
- franks12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have reviewed the Google webmaster tools for link popularity, it is good.
I think real updates of websites is going through Google due to this, that is why I am seeing a horrible change in my indexed pages.
Even popular article directory, EzineArticles, is displaying a PR of 0.
http://www.desiclassifieds.com/index.php?catid=20 - TheWeez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah it looks like it's down right now.
Now they just need to add the ability to sort the inbound links by their PageRank. - TheWeez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a great feature to see. This will really help me monitor our inbound links when we release a new free Mac product tomorrow. Keep an eyer out guys, it'll be VERY useful.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://www.mattcutts.com has a post on this as well
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0As i said before, all wannabes here acting as if they give a ***** about this inbound link crap. Nobody looks at your site no matter how much you pretend you're the next big thing.
- mdcarey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Great Stuff Danny, Thanks!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0@ madk:
Still beats your wet vagina by almost 6 inches. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I’ve been using Referer.org for this purpose for a long time (almost a year I think). Referer.org have the same features as Google, but also includes an invaluable service to me - RSS feeds. By subscribing to the RSS feed for my own pages I get a notification whenever I get a new link to my page, including a screenshot of the page. And it optionally lets me put the list of referrers on my own page. When can I expect that Google gives me notifications when I get a new referrer?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2All the posts below me will be from wannabe webmasters who want their crappy blogs to be linked.
They'll never make any money for themselves being a webmaster, and will only masturbate to other successful people's pictures. They will also pose as if they really know what the ***** seo really is, and will try to correct everyone else. Meanwhile, i'll go ahead and keep making ***** of money even when i'm posting crappy comments on digg.
It's kinda fun really.

What is Digg?
The Digg Toolbar for Firefox lets you Digg, submit content, and keep track of Digg even when you're not on the Digg site. Download the official
