- MrCalifornia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12So how does one actually see the number of subscribers to a particular feed?
- JohnOaks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Google Reader is great.
- mvprj84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Feedburner makes it easy to see the numbers. A screenshot from Feedburner along with how this affected some of the top blogs can be found here:

Worst-case you'll have to look in your server's access logs and look for the "Feedfetcher-Google" user agent. Google's Analytics program will also pick it up, but you might have to dig through their panels to find it. I personally use my own custom "Bot Tracker", which tracks which pages the bots are visiting in real-time. I just saw Google's feedfetcher on my site, and I have a whole 2 subscribers! (one of which is me)
- lwilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Google Reader puts Yahoo!'s failed attempt at RSS to shame. It's really a world class reader.
- Brajeshwar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Most stats software should do that - for instance, Mint, Feedburner does it.
- deansfurniture5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just to clarify--the number bloglines supplies is accurate, not necessarily the total number.
- Aeiri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@deansfurniture5
Because Google Reader and Bloglines gives the correct statistics now, it's 100% accurate?
What about other sites that don't report it? It's just more accurate, it will probably never be perfect. - cavemonkey50, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Look for Bird Feeder. It's an official Pepper for Mint 2.x.
- deansfurniture5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2livefastdieold--Bloglines already has this built in, so the number Feedburner reports is accurate.
- LGgeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Perhaps google can use some of the folks on this project to fix the adwords auction overcharge problem, at least they seem to know how to work with numbers.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Same question here. Where do I look??
- furst, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Now if only Google can figure out how search engines work...
- opticrime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Braj: What Mint Pepper allows you to track the number of RSS subscribers? Or do you mean only for those who use feedburner?
- LiveFastDieOld, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This makes me realize I apparently haven't fully understood the way Feedburner works. I just checked my Feedburner now, and I have a bunch more subscribers to my blog than I'd known about (and all the new ones are accounted for by Google Reader).
Tell me if I'm misunderstanding, but doesn't this mean that my count is still going to be a ways off, if other readers are counting multiple individuals as a single subscriber? For instance, Feedburner says I have one reader through Bloglines. Is it possible I have multiple Blogline readers, but that Bloglines isn't properly reporting the data? - shawnblanc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Thus explaining the sudden jump in my feedburner stats.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I was never sure how to Google for certain totals. Its those same feed counts that burner subscribes to. This is a great step forward for feed data wishing to subscribe in conjunction with publishers. While it certainly can be quantum, incalculability is loosely applicable in rss metrics. Does anyone have any further ideas?
