- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15google really seems to like the way digg works..
wonder how long it'll be until google aquires digg? (seriously) - BlackSheepx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/5258/dnewsgoogle3fm.png
"Digg news" gadget...nice one google. :) - SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9one word. pacman.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Ever heard of Opera, Chozabu?
- noneloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If you guys are missing where to add the gadgets to a page, make sure to select a box on the page and click "more" (with the pizza) on the left hand side.
- noneloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"Do you want to enable experimental features?
No. Sounds scary."
*chuckle* - wintermute1974, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Very nice. I digg it.
A word to all you non-Mozilla non-IE people out there like me though: Google politely asks you to get lost. - veza, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Sweet :D
http://gangsta.googlepages.com/gadgets - afreytes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This seems to be one of those things, that Google just does because they can, but may have interesting side-effects. The best of which would be sending some Microsofties on a wild search.
Like: "OK, Team! Mr. B threw a chair yesterday when he saw that Google Pages had widgets. Sooo, let's make some widgets for Live and make sure they can interoperate-in/depend-on Vista. Security? Foggedabautit! Just make 'em snappy and 'cool'. The kids will eat em up!"
Meanwhile Google's teams focus on more important things... - Unr3a1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They got it from neave.com, which removed it after copyright issues from namco. I wonder if Google will get in trouble for still hosting it? Probably not.
Also, did anyone know that Google had this domain: http://gmodules.com/ - soof, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Whoa, widgets on google page creator - cool, but not very practical.
- schildkroeter, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9No Safari support?? :(
Well, for exactly these cases it's useful to have Firefox around, even though I personally dislike the feeling (yes, mod me down now, I don't care)... - halibut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can also get google modules (gadgets, same thing) alongside your gmail inbox with this extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2127/

(changing the colour is not necessary) - warrenfalk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3not to mention safari and konqueror
- badfeng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If would be nice if they would just add an ability to stick in RSS feeds as I've done with Google Pages via a mashup script
http://www.performancepccanada.com/?defaultarticle=990&defaultnode=516&layout=20 - noneloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or a way for functions to be availible only on the backend. Most of the gadgets would work fine on a webpage, but the ones that have logins like you mentioned could have those logins put through the part where you can edit your widget on the back end.
Sorry if that's terribly confusing. - mattsonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice post. it helped me great. should be sticky.
- veza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Doesn't work correctly in FF ( Firefox 1.5.0.3 ) -- no scroll on digg news..
- yickster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I tracked down the javascript for the flickr gadget- http://0.gmodules.com/ig/f/AXLnmRFox1M/ig.js
Once again they're using that impossible to follow code... has there been any attempts to reverse engineer these scripts? for science?! - ramow, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1MUST see~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Check out my google page creator webpage: http://rami.name/ - en19, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yes, you have to eable the experimental content, thats the whole idea.
- MattL920, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is google page creator still not open to sign ups? Whenever I try to go to it I get the message:
Google Page Creator is having a little trouble right now.
This is not because of anything you did; it's just a little hiccup in our system that will hopefully go away soon. We apologize for the inconvenience, and recommend you try reloading this page.
It's been that way for me since they launched it. That seems like a weird way to close it off to new users. - OropheR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Works here, you can add a digg news reader (or call it how you wish).
Cool. - mrcpu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Can't find it!. I already had signed up for google pages...do I have to enable the experimental content when I active the account or is there some way to do it after? I can't find it on the "More Actions" drop down or anywhere else :-(
- FlyboyP, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Sweet tip.
- jeffgreco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I like the move by Google to universalize the homepage gadgets - first Google Desktop, now this. I hope people start developing them with more than just the homepage in mind, now.
Any developers care to comment on the format they use? - en19, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Works for me
- CreativeGuy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1If it's old-style games you want, try signing up for Goowy.com
It's one of those "online desktops" that offers email, widgets, games, news, etc... it's actually pretty cool. Some of the games include Pac Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, etc..
http://www.goowy.com/ - Chozabu, on 10/12/2007, -9/+7what are you using, lynx?
- yukevster, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1it's down.
