- MBHoy, on 11/19/2007, -1/+15Damnit, I'm going to need Adblock Plus for flicking through magazines?
- MBHoy, on 11/19/2007, -0/+9Google Ads in paper media = awesome growth. Well done Google.
- TBagwell, on 11/19/2007, -1/+6yawn...
- thcobbs, on 11/19/2007, -1/+6Aren't they taking this contextual text ads a BIT far with a magazine? :-D
- colto, on 11/20/2007, -0/+283% of statistics are made up on the spot.
- str3ama, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2you're all a little too idealistic, it sounds more like Google will take Google books (http://books.google.com) and slap some adsense on to it.
- bimtott, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2The definition of irony:
When a custom magazine from your Internet search history yields something pornographic, when pornography was the exact type of magazine made irrelevant thanks to the Internet. - inactive, on 11/19/2007, -1/+3so from 1 patent you managed to extrapolate it to GOOGLE WILL BE PRODUCING THEIR OWN MAGAZINE. Thanks for the incredibly boring blog on you suppositions.

- marktastic, on 11/19/2007, -0/+160% of the time, it works every time.
- Daggity, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Aw, I was hoping to subscribe to a print Google Magazine.
- KSUdesigner, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Nah, if I have to look at ads in a magazine I'd rather they at least be something I'm *probably* interested in. Of course I'd rather there be no ads at all, but that'll never happen (probably a good thing for me since I work in an advertising agency!).
- yunvme, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1There's a difference between a patent being granted and an application being published. Contrary to the blog's assertion, this patent has not been granted. It does, however, imply a direction for Google.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1No matter what magazine you get the ads are personalized to what you like!
- Konstantino, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Granted, it will include ads relevant to the end-user. But if this really gets out there, I'll totally be in. I guess this can sort of be considered RSS in print form with ads.
- abhilash, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1lava's right. It's just so that advertisers can go to one place to purchase their advertising - search, tv, radio, print media ads will all be available through AdWords (for a small fee paid to Google). we all know that doesn't amount to much. Just a $3,000/share stock price.
- wheelzr, on 11/20/2007, -1/+2Google does not mess around with anything physical. Why would they print a freaking magazine?! Have any of you heard about the freaking internet? If it wasn't for poor people and white people drinking coffee at Barnes & Noble, magazines would be extinct.
- YourTechSupport, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Hmmm.... a bunch of digg-listed articles followed by page after page of varying styles of porn... with some kittens....
I'd buy it. - freakon, on 11/19/2007, -3/+3Probably an ad.
- Spawn2105, on 11/19/2007, -0/+0Interesting. Wondering how this will play out for Google, maybe we can expect magazines in the near future tailored specifically to our browsing / searching habbits?
- lava, on 11/19/2007, -3/+3It's not for their magazine, it's probably just for a really easy way for customizing the ads of national publications based by region. They've been talking about this for a long time.
- rudy23, on 11/19/2007, -1/+1did you just pull that number out of you ass?
- themaestro18, on 11/19/2007, -0/+0Customizable porn in print format? Yippee!!!
- rudy23, on 11/19/2007, -4/+3I'm Feeling Lucky
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -4/+199% of predicitons that are based solely on patent applications are wrong.
