- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -9/+87Awesome -- Could definitly use this when alone at home and search for .. eh.. never mind -- :D
- ColdAtlantis, on 10/12/2007, -9/+61Oh come on, lets be honest, this will be used mostly for porn! :D
- shawbin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31http://www.mediamingle.com might look prettier, but it is WAY slower. Steer clear.
- fletchowns, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18This is really slick, I wish it would load images sequentially instead of trying to load them all at once...hard to scroll at look at them with so many big images loading it makes the scrollbar go nuts.
- Vector713, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13"of course, safesearch is off ;))"
"especially helpful while searching for adult entertainment"
why the hell does everyone on digg go straight for porn when ***** like this comes up!?!
i hate the world... i really do
go ahead, mod me down because i'm not a porn addicted pig - msaleem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Isn't that the reason that Google displays thumbnails? So you don't load all the images in full size at once, rather you can load the ones you like? For example, I typed in ipod, and got: http://www.ipod-dj.com/images/current.back.lg.gif Why would I want to load this image in full size?
- joeysafe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13(Oblige) There is a spellcheck you know. Right there next to submit...
- richardiscool, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Er.... surely that's pointless?
- int19h, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Both http://dearcomputer.nl/gir/ and http://www.mediamingle.com/ were slow to the point of being unusable.
- secondmode, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16Porn... wait, you mean Corn? Yummm, I love corn.
- walterd93, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10there's no porn on there....
- StickWST, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Im assuming you ment to post that comment in the canned oxygen article? lol.
- richardiscool, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5msaleem, ahh, the words of a man who's never been shut out by a... high resolution nature wallpaper site's hot linking script.
- Haroldx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7http://www.duggmirror.com/links/Google_Image_Ripper/
- IHateScreenName, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"instantly clears up any headache in an instant."
Instantly in an instant, huh? - bobmagoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5this is kinda cool when used with the image display greasemonkey script that was on the front page a while ago
- mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Firefox extention "Customize Google" can do this. Been using it for a while.
- ph3rny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Don't we always post in the wrong article sometimes... I was about to do the same thing...
- wesbos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i have yet to find a link that works in this thread
- Cosmosis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I concur. This is an excellent site.
- noeljohnhoward, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4lol
i do that sometimes - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i'm assuming you mean't to post that comment as a reply to the comment above
- resplence, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Agreed.
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I'll agree with you. pr0n0gr4phy is the bastardization of human attraction and natural desire for reproduction. I don't love it, but you have to admit that's it's a big part of the internet, and therefore a big part of discussion on the internet.
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I just wasn't sure how it worked... google API doesn't allow you to run enough queries every day... and I thought they blocked programs that looked like they were scraping... so how is this done?
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Did it sound like the right spelling? You would have been closer with Obblyyj.
- Scoz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2According to Google Trends, lots of folk from Birmingham will be using the ripper: http://www.google.com/trends?q=porn&ctab=0&date=all&geo=all
- w1ckedsick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.goorip.com are fast and works well
- 4xsys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i would suggest just getting the extension for firefox called CustomizeGoogle. when you click on the thumbnail, it takes you straight to the image, or you can click a small link underneath the thumbnail to go to the original page. its awesome!
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/743/ - interiot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Is the source code for one of these available?
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1DuggMirror is your friend, but not this time — GIR is a CGI, so no mirror will work.
- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wish I could have taken one before, basicly, you type in a keyword, hit enter and it (on the "background" -- you can't really see it) goes to google, searches for images, gets the image link, and generates a huge page with the ACTUAL images (no thumbnails) of what you would have found on google.
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Is the source code for one of these available?"
It's not that hard to write a Perl or PHP script that does this. - ojk007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1ur not looking hard enough ;)
seriously tho its a great site! - apolloae, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Perhaps this isn't the right place to put it, but go to that same google trends site, and type in "pornography". First it gives you two results from India followed by Salt Lake City, Utah...
Anyone else find that horribly ironic? - drumbum360, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1ACoolie, I'll mirror that script for you on my server if you would like. site is www.adayof.com email me if you are interested... drumbum360 (at) gmail (dot) com
- GerryDaman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Site has been dugg to death.
- shakeyshakey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You mean there is porn on the internet? OMG!
//sarcasm - nogami, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Or you could just download the firefox plugin "google image re-linker" which works inside google and auto-relinks the thumbnails directly to their source images
http://roachfiend.com/archives/2005/03/06/google-images-re-linker/ - wesbos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1nope..
- ACoolie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Image Re-linker sounds good. But I just got bored and made a simple little script. Someone please mirror this, I don't have a host =P
It lets you search with image sizes and displays one image at a time, with arrows for other images. (Of course, safesearch is off ;))

- Dekaritae, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Try the Coral cache version:
http://dearcomputer.nl.nyud.net:8090/gir/ - greenbox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2can someone post a mirror?
- Aamir, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2someone post a screenshot, its been dugg
- paulmdx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I'm pretty unhappy to see this website promoting image theft by linking to full size Flickr images even when Flickr itself has turned them off (or tried to, at least). I'm also pretty unhappy to see Flickr aren't capable of better protecting images.
- chadwbennett, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0http://www.mediamingle.com looks to be back up and running smoothly. They have taken a lot of hits over the last couple days so of course it was going to slow down.
- alexp2ad, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3@shawbin:
Not now GIR has been dugg into the ground! -
