- MariusAgricola, on 07/01/2008, -2/+38Where's the button to digg Seth MacFarlane?
This is good news, because it means that some people in the television industry are getting the hang of this scary new Internet distribution thingy.
I can't wait to see this. - StingingNettle, on 07/02/2008, -4/+262 minutes! Its like they know my Internet attention span precisely!
- hollywoodphony, on 07/02/2008, -3/+18You think that's bad? What about the time I had tea with Mohammed?
- miggie, on 07/02/2008, -5/+20Duplicate story. Bury this one and digg the real one.http://digg.com/tech_news/Google_and_Creator_of_Fa ...
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -5/+16I can haz longr episodez?
- StanleyKoolPrik, on 07/02/2008, -6/+15Two minute episodes? WTF? Who's the target demographic, meth-heads?
- Darkhacker, on 07/02/2008, -5/+13With two minute episodes it's probably just a series for Seth to do more of those "Hey Lois, remember that time I went on a date to Mexico with Gary Coleman..." skits. Then again, maybe I'm wrong and he'll surprise me with something clever and witty.
- scooterbaga, on 07/01/2008, -6/+13I just hope there's cursing. This latest Family Guy DVD collection with the occasional F bomb is ***** awesome.
- jluebbert, on 07/02/2008, -5/+12Way to be a contributing member to the digg community.
- Halsfield, on 07/02/2008, -1/+6people who want to watch something on their coffee/lunch breaks? people who dont have time to watch a full episode and are just web-browsing for something short and funny to watch that gets right to the point without needing a lot of plot filler? How many funny youtube videos are less than 2min and worth watching by non-meth heads?
come on now, you didnt think about that comment before you hit enter. - Halsfield, on 07/02/2008, -0/+5As long as its a new cartoon, ive really grown tired of the family guy formula. American dad had its moments in certain episodes, but i hope macfarlane is showing us something new and interesting.
All i really want for christmas is a new futurama season though. Why they picked up family guy for a whole bunch of new seasons and not futurama boggles my mind(yea i know about the movies, and i believe they are thinking about a new season). - palewook, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4not a fan since fox and seth started abusing DMCA takedowns on any youtube familyguy clips of 2-3 seconds.
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+3Nuh-uhh!
- FatBird19, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3There's nothing really NEW about this. It's not a web video revolution, just a higher-profile distribution agreement.
- rockus, on 07/01/2008, -6/+9Whiner!
- drgirlfriend, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3Your mom is overrated.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3But I liked him on 'Enterprise'. ;)
- Totz83, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3"Irony, the interwebz bitch"
- Ragzouken, on 07/02/2008, -2/+5The other one has more diggs and was on the front page first
- Halsfield, on 07/02/2008, -1/+32 of the most worthless reasons to make a comment in one post, well done. Now how about posting something that might actually be worth reading?
anyway, it'll be interesting to see what macfarlane is coming up with, i enjoyed FG a lot(although its getting a bit tired as cartoon network runs the same episodes every day, 2x day x 2 episodes a day, lots of reruns very quickly...), american dad didnt get the love it deserved(it had some pretty funny episodes, although some were misses) and blue harvest was pretty amazing. - richashby, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3Think Family Guy has jumped the shark. The Blue Harvest special was good, but a lot of the writing now is lazy, and just goes for cheap laughs at easy targets.
Or maybe I'm just getting old... - ferrariman60, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Well, if American Dad is any indicator, he will just make the same show, with a family that tends to lean another direction politically(but the EXACT same family arrangement), and make the same jokes. Family Guy was funny for a while, but American Dad was basically just a copy of it. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's really how I see it.
New Futurama would be fantastic. - robszol, on 07/02/2008, -0/+22 minutes doesn't really seem like much...I mean, we can easy torrent the episodes which would result in a much better viewing experience. Now unless they're actually going to broadcast full episodes on Google Video or Youtube or whatever, I don't think this will tickle anyone's fancy THAT much...
- theword12, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3"animated versions of the one-frame cartoons you might see in The New Yorker, only edgier."
This is supposed to make me want to watch them? - fearofsociety, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2I like Seth McFarlane. He's funny in interviews and I like Family Guy (the first couple seasons especially). American Dad not so much, seems a little heavy handed and the alien and the fish are no replacement for Brian and Stewie. Hopefully this turns out to be interesting though. I'd like to see something completely different. But, two minutes? Why not at least 15 minute episodes Robot Chicken style?
- OwdenBowden, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2With that in mind. Is it just me or does Seth McFarlane look like Peter Brady?
- TexanRudeBoy, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Two minute episodes makes more sense for Family Guy. They can't write well enough to fill a whole episode so: 30 sec chicken fight+ 1 min pointless pop culture flashbacks+ 30 sec of whatever other "running joke" they want to milk for the tenth episode.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1OWNED!
- OwdenBowden, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Thanks; Dr. Jewish.
- ScottMcQueen, on 07/02/2008, -6/+7I have this strange feeling that the partially literate american public will be scared off by the name "Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy"...
- chillypacman, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1It makes ZP look like an epic movie!
- EmitStop, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1The one that made it to the front page first was the dupe.
Mr.Babyman submitted this a good 3 hours prior to Matt's submission.
You Mr.Babyman haters are ***** retarded. - partytimeloser, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1This is great, because when you remove all the pop culture references from Family Guy, it is only about 2 minutes anyways.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -4/+5Reported? Get a life, loser.
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+1I think 5 minutes would have been much better, even 4 minutes is OK. I've seen plenty of TV shows that ran for 4-5 minutes but satisfied. 2 minutes is cutting it a bit short for me, but it's still better than nothing!
- rossisdead, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I can only believe you've never actually watched American Dad, because it is a million times funnier than Family Guy's been since it came back.
- lengau, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Strongbad e-mails have an RSS feed?
- drgirlfriend, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1I think 'partially literate' is far too generous.
- drgirlfriend, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1New Futurama would be a bad thing. The quality of Family Guy has plummeted since its return. While still a kickass show, it is not nearly as special and sacred as it was after its cancellation. The same thing would probably happen to Futurama if it returned and I don't want that.
- Egress99, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Why is it that everyone fails to mention that Seth MacFarlane looks like Christopher Knight?
- aserer511, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2it won't go anywhere viewer number wise; people just love the conventional tv and aren't watching anything ad driven on their computers.
well, the two minute length DOES help
that's not what she said!! - jezsik, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1That depends. Next time you're in the book store, look for the New Yorker's rejection collection (the cream of the crap). If you like Family Guy, you'll love the cartoons in THAT book.
- jezsik, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Hey, there's no reason why we can't have new seasons of Family Guy, American Dad AND Futurama. I wouldn't be opposed to some Dr. Katz and The Tick either. This isn't a zero sum game, after all.
- EmitStop, on 07/02/2008, -9/+9Well this one was submitted first.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -2/+2TED talks really are awesome!! I'm planning on watching hundreds this summer.
but.... zero punctuation = pretty good ? surely you jest - , on 07/02/2008, -0/+0> is ***** awesome.
- Baryn, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1I really *don't care.*
