I call *****...they (known ISP's) don't want to move forward in the speeds they have provide (((((((comcast))))) charges me 55 bucks a mouth for sustained 2mbit a sec and they suck! I hope Google kicks their ass!! - cbeach512, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i already have free wi-fi, it's called "my neighbors open network" :)
- Jaheab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great informative article about not just Google's proposal but also the competing ones.
- johnxstone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sounds a bit netzeroy to me.
- Eric-tile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Netzero used to be a great ISP. Then both Juno and Netzero decided to only offer 10 free hours per month.
When Netzero had been entirely free, there had been a way in which you could force the advertisement window program to crash, but then remain online. Thus you had free service without ads, it was great. - ScottyTee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahaha nice 8) thats better than the speed I have at the min and its free :P keep it up google :)

- spiderpop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm thinking Google's entire approach to everything is through their targeted ads. Having people going through their network just increases the accuracy of their targeted ads.
Maybe they'll go for a location specific sort of approach, like, if you're in a coffee shop, ads for the coffee special will appear on a page you're viewing. - Duston, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How does Google make money on this? Will they be data-mining the traffic? Will you have to install some Ad-words laden app?
