- NoamChimpsky, on 04/27/2009, -5/+168At first I was like: ".-- - ..-."
Then, I was like: "--- .. -.-." - MrApocalypse, on 04/27/2009, -2/+147Has anyone checked if T440's link is a safe site?
- MikeSD34, on 04/27/2009, -1/+96I wouldn't trust it, it links to all sorts of other questionable sites depending on what you input.
- amauldin71, on 04/27/2009, -4/+96Morse code is going to be very useful when the zombies come.
- NeoNevermore, on 04/27/2009, -0/+87And look where it got you.
- Recoil, on 04/27/2009, -1/+78"So I guess you could say, this barely qualifies as news".
- Kent Brockman - Donotsurf, on 04/27/2009, -3/+75For those in Canada: www.google.ca
- Kojangie, on 04/27/2009, -3/+61Or just use AOL keyword "Google".
- inactive, on 04/27/2009, -1/+44I hate myself for forgetting that stuff, I was the king of Morse code back in my scout days
- Thorpe, on 04/27/2009, -2/+38I'm clicking, I'm clicking!
- badenglishihave, on 04/27/2009, -1/+37Oh, that's actually the translation. I thought you were joking until I looked up a translator myself.
- wpyh, on 04/27/2009, -6/+39Fake, Google can't even search itself:
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=--.+---+---+--. ... - mspencer712, on 04/27/2009, -2/+31Guide to stupid morse code jokes in this thread:
present-day ham radio operators using morse code call it CW, for continuous-wave. as in "I need to learn CW."
morse code has "text speak" that predates the Internet by decades.
LOL is instead "HIHIHI" since the characters H and I in morse sound somewhat like laughter.
Any ham who actually says "high high high" out loud needs to be smacked in the head with something.
If any ham signs his post with a call sign, you can go to http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchLi ... and get their name and home address.
73 means "best regards." DE is short for "from." Hams who haven't yet figured out that the Internet is not ham radio sometimes end their posts with "73 DE" and then their call sign.
In the US, ham callsigns must start with A, K, N, or W, must be 4 to 7 characters total, and must contain exactly one digit. Shorter callsigns are reserved for hams with higher license classes. Nerds. Some hams even get vanity call signs that spell out names or, worse, video game characters.
Now if any hams show up and make stupid jokes, you will be able to (a) understand their joke and (b) taunt them mercilessly about it.
73 DE NOØK - MikeSD34, on 04/27/2009, -0/+27Your link won't be relevant tomorrow, the one at the top of the page will.

- jc7012, on 04/27/2009, -1/+24You'll clog up the tubes!!!
- sourabhg, on 04/27/2009, -5/+26Ever since google search is embedded with firefox, rarely does it happen that one opens google homepage.
- T440, on 04/27/2009, -2/+22Agreed....please, no morse jokes.
- inactive, on 04/27/2009, -3/+23Hate yourself for forgetting that stuff and making room for knowledge that matters?
- farfegnugen, on 04/27/2009, -7/+26I dunno. But I've heard that http://www.thepirategoogle.com is pretty safe
- BalancingAct, on 04/27/2009, -4/+23And it's www.google.co.uk for people in the UK
- bhaity, on 04/27/2009, -0/+17I just use the search bar in firefox..
- SACubeMonkey, on 04/27/2009, -1/+18Optionally. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=google&l=1
- staffell, on 04/27/2009, -9/+23I'm pretty sure this didn't need to be sent in as a digg submission, every single person who saw this article probably visited the google front page on the same day
- MarkOfTheDead, on 04/27/2009, -1/+15Or it was a joke, Beekman.
- peliROJO, on 04/27/2009, -11/+23 You don't need to Digg the Google homepage. If somebody doesn't see it then they can get *****. Stop wasting space on the Internet.
- diemunkiesdie, on 04/27/2009, -2/+14Not punny.
- davidwmfc, on 04/27/2009, -2/+13it's ok we got the "joke"
- musicology, on 04/27/2009, -0/+10sure is... it sure is...
- discoburgess, on 04/27/2009, -2/+12My thoughts exactly. Did this really need digging? Google change their logo quite often for specific days. In fact, this is the second time in the past week.
Buried for being bleeding obvious. - inactive, on 04/27/2009, -1/+11It says "Google".
- adith, on 04/27/2009, -1/+10To all the people saying that everyone has seen this already: many people, myself included, use the Google search box on Firefox (and on a couple other browsers I'm sure), so I never go to the home page, and never see these doodles (why Google doesn't put these logos on the results page is beyond me).
- Napiertt, on 04/27/2009, -0/+8Really? Can you expand on that?
- kingmanic, on 04/27/2009, -2/+10BradMW: Like the base statistics of all of the monsters in the 4th edition AD&D monsters manual.
- inactive, on 04/27/2009, -2/+9Ugh I never get to see the google homepage since I just search on firefox....
- ocram, on 04/27/2009, -0/+7I don't think many atheists have a problem with Christmas or Easter.
- NightSkyWatcher, on 04/27/2009, -0/+7I'm hearing you 20dB over S9!
DE KE5JFB - orion2ktc, on 04/27/2009, -0/+7What's wrong with that? At least they're being creative.
- immatellyouwhat, on 04/27/2009, -2/+9Would you guys just ***** tell me what your saying!? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
- Tatanga, on 04/27/2009, -4/+11Wow, I don't know how I'd have stumbled on Google's logo without someone pointing this out! It's not like it's at the head of the most widely-visited page on the Internet. Oh, wait, it is.
