- slowthinking, on 10/12/2007, -20/+84You spelled spelled wrong.
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -4/+59"Title Says It All."
No it doesn't! No it god-damn-doesn't!!!!
/Penn Jillette-style screaming - Speckles, on 10/12/2007, -6/+43You're wrong. You don't think that all words must be spelled only one way do you? American Heritage dictionary gives "spelt" as a valid spelling of the the past tense of "spell".
http://www.bartleby.com/61/47/S0624700.html - dizzyd_23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32make a creative description already.
- EagleX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27Yeah, seriously, the title does not say it all. Otherwise, why would they give you a place to EXPLAIN THE LINK!?!
- lodhesn, on 10/12/2007, -14/+31you spelt calendar wrong.
- Ericular, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Spelling error + non-existent description = no digg.
Yes, a description would have been beneficial. A "Google Calendar Button Generator" could be about 10 different things. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19I, too, am annoyed at the fact that they spelled calendar incorrectly, especially since the word Calendar is written, plainly, in front of their face AS they write the post! Amazed. Amazed and annoyed.
Buffy has my tea ready, so I must depart. It was nice chatting with you. - redguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13what the hell is so hard to add some description _even_ if "the title says it all"
Let's say something like:
"Use this site to create your own google calendar buttons"
Do a search on digg.com from Google and see how many results like this you have.
to Kevin Rose: ban this phrase from future submissions :) - Flankk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16"Spelled" is American, "Spelt" is British. Digg is international, so quit arguing nonsense.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13if you could not spam us with links that are irrelevant to the article, that'd be great
- tkdan235, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13honestly its so annoying
- eladriano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Horray for Nick Starr, Hollywood Adam and NLO!!!
- TheComputerMutt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Ugly site. Niftyish tool.
- mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Whenever someone writes "title says it all," someone else resubmit it and we'll digg that one. Same goes for excessive exclamation marks, illiterate descriptions, and stuff like "Most Amazing [_______] Ever!"
- t94xr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3NOBODY LIKES ONIONS RULEZ!!!
http://www.nobodylikesonions.com/ - psylence, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Someone bought a domain name _for that_?!?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Only if MY an idiot? Come on now. Who's the idiot?
- insomniak29, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Apostrophes don't escape properly...
- meefman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sure, this may be a useful tool, and the submitter may not be fluent in English, but damn!!! *suppresses the inner grammar Nazi*
- thecorch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Hey now, "spelt" is also common in Canada where both American and British spellings are generally accepted.
- Mysk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is a pretty useful tool. It simply makes a button that you can place on your web site that your visitor can click to "automatically" add the event to their own Google calendar.
Just FYI for folks who hadn't figure it out yet. :p
The link title though, I agree. It doesn't explain shiat. - myfanwy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3actually, title says close to bugger all. expand. spelling......again
- evilpettingzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Good stuff. Great tool with that oh so special rounded rectangle look to the buttons.
- timtastic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok I think we're all agreed that Rafael is a moron, but how do we prevent such crappily written posts from happening?
I suggest Wikifying the posts so edits can be made by the community, then allow votes so the cream rises to the top. This and community tagging would be some nice improvements. - TheComputerMutt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Did you even click the link? I know the submission isn't clear and the site is ugly, but it creates a link to add an event to your calendar. It doesn't add you to the same instance of it (it just creates a copy of the same article that you specify on this site).
- salmonmoose, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3the title doesn't say it all. It doesn't say it's an ugly-ass website :)
- nickstarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1We have updated the code a bit. There is now support for BB code for message boards and forums. Also you can choose your own time zone instead of everything being in UTC.
- mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I wonder if Nick Starr used his Dawn and Drew Show discount code for that... [minion shout-out!]
- crimemastergogo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks Bro, i ' ve used it on my website. And hey, spelling doesn't matter as far as the info was useful for me.
- 89Prometheus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually, I thought the same thing you did, but instead of posting and looking like an idiot like you; I looked up "spelt" on www.webster.com and got:
"chiefly British past and past participle of spell" - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7Agreed. Title says jack *****, you unimaginative bastard.
The only way we're going to rid these horrible posts of making it to the front page is by not digging them. So STOP DIGGING THEM ALREADY! - fingiecrookie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Didn't you read the description? The title said it all!
I hate those "title says it all" descriptions. - M3ntok, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5***** you gay Adam.
- deepakjois, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I cannot believe this! I submitted my button generator a long time ago!
http://deepak.jois.name/gcalevent
and no one dugg it! - armbar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Now digg me down"
Will do. - bbgmp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Should be an option to generate bb code as well as html.
- nickstarr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I did use a Dawn and Drew code...lol
- cathode, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Title says it all? Yeah, it says you probably didn't graduate from 4th grade. This is good comedy, I'll dig it just for that.
- Jadinlee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3When the title says it all... I never Dig.
- timtastic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://digg.com/technology/The_title_says_it_all.
- skooma, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3a quick update for google calbuttons.....
the co-founder of gogglecalbuttons.com (hollywood adam) no longer supports this venture...and nick starr is a pud.
however, mr. starr will still let you buy his server leftovers with the no support option.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1all it does is link the button to your calendar? ..it takes longer to do with the generator than by hand..
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i did click the link .. i know what it does..
you can see what it did by looking at the URL it produces - OrangeTide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Google calendar seems to choke and die anytime I do anything with it. no matter what browser I use. http://icalx.com/ iCal Exchange is far more mature, it's free and essentially just written by one guy. (as far as I know)
- dc45, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This story is exactly why digg needs at least an editor that looks over the grammar of the submitted stories. No digg...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1So this is technology news?
Kids, don't let your pets play on your computer desk while you're on this website.
That "digg it" button doesn't take much to trigger. - msgmsg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Stick it up your vagina and spinn it
- djp2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1digg has far too many testosterone laden males. I sure hope the average digg-er is not this aggressive offline.
- rumor, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3what exactly does this do :x
